Hello there,

I’m finding I love the images so much from the Stampin’ Up! Lilypad Lake stamp set that I decided to use it again today.  This time I used the Egret image along with the Direct to Paper Technique to create my scene.  When I put this card together I used a very simple Designer Series Paper Fold to add a bit of interest to the layout.

To me blue is about the most soothing color there is.  Just look what happens when you layer a few different shades of blue, so tranquil.  The only stamp I needed to use for this scene is the cute little boats stamp from the new Lilypad Lake Stamp set.  See, you don’t need a bunch of stamps to create a lovely scene.

Hello there,

I’m stamping today as a way to take my mind off of my muscle aches and pains.  I recently started going back to the gym 5 days a week.  My muscles are saying “hey lady what’s up with all this use of us little used muscles”, lol.  I promised I would do this for my “me time” and it is great for my spirit and body. I really do love it, so I will stop my whining now.  🙂

I love today’s project with it’s painted look and who doesn’t love this tree image from the popular, new Rooted in Nature stamp set.  The technique I use in my tutorial for this project is fun and most of all easy!  I hope you are inspired to give it a try and get inky today.

The Koi Fish meaning in Japan is good fortune or luck, they also are associated with perseverance in adversity and strength of purpose.  These are all the things I wish for you my friends and my family.  Knowing the meaning behind the Koi Fish makes this set all the sweeter when you make cards with it, don’t you agree?

Let me show you in today’s tutorial just how you can get the bright colored fish in front of the dark background.  That really makes him stand out!  Plus, I really love the texture the Seaside Embossing Folder gives this card.  Embossing multiple layers of the project really melds things together.  It almost gives a quilted look to it.

What!  Did Stampin’ Up! somehow look into my mind and create my dream stamps?  I love just about any nature stamps, since I am a nature nerd and if they are silhouette stamps well, that is right up my ally when it comes to creating scenes.  The brand new Stampin’ Up! Seize the Day stamp set is such a great set and has all the things I look for when I select stamps to use for my type of scenes.

Black Beauty – Stampin’ Up! Card

Hello there,

Did you get to watch the Belmont Stakes on Saturday to see Justify win the Triple Crown?  It was so exciting!  What a fabulous horse.  Anyhow, all the derby going ons put me in the mood to stamp a horse card.

After finishing this card, I smacked myself in the head (really!) and wondered why I didn’t stamp the horse in brown so it looked like our Triple Crown winner.  It turned out nice anyway with a lovely black horse.

Have you figured out where the horse image came from?  It’s from the new Stampin’ Up! Country Road stamp set.  I easily omitted the weathervane portion of the stamp to just use the horse (I’ll show you how in my tutorial).  Ah, now that really gets your mind working on what all you can do with the horse, right?  I’m stoked and can’t wait to come up with more scenes.

Stamping Tools – Simply Shammy

Hello there,

I usually don’t talk a lot about stamping tools but sometimes a tool comes along that I lose my mind over, such as the Stampin’ Up! Simply Shammy.  It’s the best stamp cleaning tool ever!

I know it doesn’t sound very exciting and you may have missed it in the new annual catalog but I have to tell you, YOU NEED ONE!  lol.  When I got it, I took it out of the package wet it and it just held that dampness the entire time I was stamping so it was ready to go when I needed to clean my stamps.  The best part is. . . . .IT’S CHEMICAL FREE, reusable and works great.  It cleans all the little nocks and crannies in your stamps, is lint free and fits in a stamp case.  Note, the shammy will get stained but the ink will not transfer to your fingers or nice manicure, it’s magic.

Hello there,

Have you tried Brusho Crystal Colour yet?  Oh my!  It’s intense color in powder form which is activated with water.  It only takes a teeny tiny bit of the Brusho to create a wonderful flower field like I did this morning.  It looks so much like a painting.  🙂

Hello there,

I find it to be totally awesome the Stampin’ Write Markers are water based and therefore, water soluble.  You can create great backgrounds for your stamped images with these markers and just a bit water, just like I did in today’s project.  This scene would not have the impact it does without the flowing background.

I then added the great images from the new Sea of Textures Stamp set, plus a framelits Die from the coordinating Under the Sea Framelits Dies Set.  Such a cute little school of fish.  I so love that the Under the Sea Coordinating framelits Set not only have dies to cut out some of the stamped images it also has other dies as well to make your projects really stand out.148358

Go Go Speed Racer

Hello there,

Well, finally I can use the new products I have since the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog has been released and you all can purchase them now.  I’ve had a whole bunch of new stuff for over a month and it’s been killing me to not use it.  But I don’t like teasing you with products you cannot purchase so I held off inking it up.   Oh, the sacrifices I make because I love you!

This morning I did ink up the new Enjoy Life stamp set and really enjoyed creating this scene and giving the bike some motion by stamping it multiple times.
