Hello there,
Today’s card has been chicken approved. . .
Hey, don’t be bothering us! We are busy here, I tell ya! Yep that’s two of my girls busy at work, doing what they do best.
Laying these lovely eggs for me.
Last year we purchased 10 Black Australorp chicks which are now laying the most beautiful brown eggs almost daily. They are calm hens and never cause any problems. They just go about their day in a kumbaya state of mind, softly clucking, scratching and pecking.
But wait! This year we added 10 White Leghorn chicks, they are now pullets (teenagers) and are hell on wheels! We have found them on top of the coop, fences, sheds and in the neighbors yards. They are every where!! For their own safety we rounded them up one day (not an easy feat) and clipped their flight feathers on one wing on each of them. This is so they cannot fly straight and get lift to get up or over things like the fencing. On a normal chicken this is enough to keep them in the chicken yard, not these girls. They are still escaping and we are forced to clip the flight feathers on their other wing, rascals. I’m quite sure I scare my neighbors half to death running around in their yards in my PJ’s some days with a huge fishing net racing after these white blurs.
These girls should start laying beautiful large white eggs in about two months. I’m told they are egg laying machines and lay almost an egg every single day. I’m thinking they better, lol.
Now how about today’s project you ask?
Tomorrow, June 1st the brand new Stampin’ Up! Annual catalog is released. Yep it is one of the most exciting days of the year for me and that catalog is full of off the hook new products! Now, I have new products from the catalog stacked up on my desk but I hold back and wait until you can purchase the products before I start using them in my projects, torture for me, but seems only fair, right? No sense teasing you with products you cannot get, that’s just mean!
So here is my first project with a brand new stamp set from the new catalog, Wood Words, item 143928 and is available tomorrow, June 1st, whooohoooo!
