Hey there,

Sorry I was MIA for a few days, I’ve been hanging out with family during the long holiday weekend.  I hope you were able to enjoy it too.

Anyway, I am back in my stamp room and decided to make this super hot card.  Check out those heat waves I made using the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits Dies, 141497.  That wave looking die will be used for many a card in the future.  I see it as water, flower trellis etc.  Nice, versatile die set for sure.

Today I teamed that die up with the Stampin’ Up! Birthday Fiesta stamp set, 141500 to make this desert scene.  Hot!

When I seen the new Stampin’ Up! set, Seaside Shore, item #141625 and that great angel fish image, I just knew I had to do the reverse image technique so I could have a mirror image of the original for it to kiss.  This would make such a fun anniversary card.  Mawh! to you.  🙂

Hello there,

Let me chat a moment about putting in suns and moons in your projects.  A sun or moon has multiple colors in it, have you ever noticed.  It is not a a flat circle in the sky.  I’m the first to omit that I have totally created projects where I’ve not put any color in my suns or moons.  But as you can see in today’s project, some color in the sun really makes it look way more realistic, don’t you think?

What is your usual attire when you are stamping at home?  I’m going to keep it real with you, I’m in my orange leopard print PJs this evening and usually I’m stamping in a teeshirt and yoga pants.  Thank heavens a bra is even optional for this hobby.    I hope you are with me on this my inky friends.  I find it so much easier to be creative when I am comfortable.

Sky with a Swirl – Stampin’ Up! Card

Hello there,

My card scene today has a lot of depth to it and a fun little sky with a faint swirl in it.  The swirl can be made more prominent by using darker colors.  I wanted mine to fade out towards the horizon so I kept my colors pretty soft.

I created the swirls by masking with a new diecut from the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits Dies Set, Item 141497.

I also used the plastic Wrap technique in the sky area.  I love the broken up look that it gives and it’s really hard to make a mistake with the technique.

Today I created two quick cards using the negative and the positive of one of the new Dies in the Flourish Thinlits Set, #141478.  This flourish die is really beautiful.

I left these cards without a sentiment and lots of space to add one until I have an occasion to send them.  Do you do that?  Or do you make your cards as the occasion arrises?
