Sweet Potato Muffins and Banana, Oat and Chocolate Chip Cookies

Both of these recipes freeze well and can be found on www.weelicious.com     This has become one of my favorite web sites since I found it a couple of weeks ago after hearing about it on the Martha Stewart Radio Channel.  If you like to eat a little healthier, you will enjoy this site as well.

Here are the direct links to the recipes I made.

Sweet Potato Muffins  I made mine to be full size muffins (the recipe made 12), cooked the muffins for 20 minutes.

Banana, Oat and Chocolate Chip Cookies  These cookies are not pretty to look at but boy, they are GOOD!

May your day be filled with all things good for you!

Until my next post. . . . . .

Scaredy Cat – with instructions

Today is my Birthday, nana nana nana. . . . . .

With that being said, I have a super quick card for you today.  It is so quick that I felt it didn’t need a tutorial.   Please forgive me, I am forcing myself to take the day off, grin.   I do however have the instructions for you below.

Reminder:   The Stampin’ Up! Summer Mini Catalog ends today.  Going, Going, Going, Gone!  The new Stampin’ Up! Holiday Mini Catalog starts tomorrow,  September 1, 2011.  Want a free copy?  E-mail me at mzindorf@aim.com (include your mailing address in your e-mail, please) and I will get one out to you.

You can shop for Stampin’ Up! products 24/7 using my Stampin’ Up! web site, CLICK HERE.  Your order will be shipped right to your door step Stampin’ Up!.

Let’s start with the supplies.

Supplies:

Stamps: Stampin’ Up! Scaredy Cat
Paper: Stampin’ Up! Whisper White, Old Olive, Basic Black and Rich Razzelberry
Ink: Stampin’ Up! Basic Black
Accessories: Stampin’ Up! Sponge, Rich Razzelberry Ribbon and a 2.5″ circle punch

Instructions:

Punch a 2.5″ circle from Whisper White card stock and stamp the cat from the Stampin’ Up Scaredy Cat set on it using Basic Black ink on the right hand side of the circle.   Adhere the circle to a 3″ x 4.5″ piece of Basic Black card stock so the moon hangs over the left side of the Basic Black card stock panel.  Cut the moon excess off.

Rip the top edge off of a 3″ x 2″ piece of Old Olive card stock.   Adhere it to the Basic Black panel so the Old Olive card stock meets the cats feet.  Cut off any excess Old Olive card stock.  Sponge Basic Black ink at the bottom of the Old Olive.   Add 2 Rich Razzelberry panels and 1 more Basic Black panel.  Add Rich Razzelberry Ribbon.

Enjoy!

May your day be extra special.

Until my next post. .. .  . .

Hugs!

Michelle

A Letter Of Thanks From Project Give Thanks

Give Thanks for the three “R’s.”

Project Give Thanks | August 17, 2011 at 3:45 pm | Categories: Uncategorized | URL: http://wp.me/p1pUJX-bq

Give Thanks for the three “R’s.”  You know, rest, relaxation and r-wine.  No, really, it’s Reduce, Reuse and Recycle I’m talkin’ ’bout.

This card was sent by Jenny Fulton who said “Please include these cards in Project Give Thanks.  They were all made by stampers who attended the 2010 SU convention.  (I just added the backs.)  I roomed with your sister at the convention – What fun!”

First, sorry Jenny, if Michelle snored.  You know, sometimes…  😉  Otherwise she is a hoot to room with and I do it as often as I can.  Secondly, you have discovered the seed that grew Project Give Thanks.  I’d seen Michelle’s wonderful card fronts she’d collected at conventions and other gatherings.  They mostly sat in a box after she’d studied and admired them.  We discussed how storing them was a waste of beautiful artistic talent and effort.  Then I went through Cancer treatments and noticed how many cards I sent.  Store bought cards didn’t feel special enough to send to people who saved my life!  After healing a bit, and getting my mind back, I put the box of card fronts together with the need that Cancer Survivors have for really special cards!  That’s when Project Give Thanks was born.  I started with a huge box of card fronts that Michelle donated.

Anyone who has a collection of cards fronts sitting in a box can do as Jenny did and put backs on them, pair with an envelope and send them in for Cancer Survivors to use!  It’s a fantastic way to REUSE a goldmine of creativity!  More reuse ideas… Often artists include a detached sheet in the card to be written on.  Some Survivors have noticed this and like how the the card can be reused.   Also, many artists reuse found items and paper scraps in their creations.  The “reusing” doesn’t end there.  I reuse or RECYCLE the boxes and packing that the cards are sent in.  The ziplock bags are pulling double duty everywhere in my house!   “Bing” I’ve just thought of something… there is a new small shop that mails organic chocolates (how did I know this?) and they probably could use some free packaging…

So, there’s Reusing and Recycling going on with PGT, what about Reducing?  Well, think about all of the effort, time and travel (gas/carbon) we’re saving Cancer Survivors by delivering the cards they NEED right to them!  I always group my errands to prevent a special trip to Boulder so we’re not even generating extra fumes for delivery. Hot Damn!  Oh, I do get so excited about the environmental stuff.  It’s the social police in me 😉

Oops, gone on too long.

Give thanks for the reuse of card fronts and the successful project they led us to.

Sending a renewable hug to each of you!

Sonja

Canning Time

Salsa Anyone!!!!!

I’m having to take a bit of a break from blogging.  You see, my veggies from my garden just won’t wait until it is an appropriate time for me to can them.  I have to work on the veggy’s schedule, lol.    Really, Russ and I have been so blessed with an aboundance of tomatoes, peppers, zuchini, squash and cucumbers.   Our garden has really been producing.

Yesterday I made and canned two different Salsa’s (mild and hot) and multiple loaves of zuchini pineapple bread.  Most of the bread will be frozen for future use, yum.  Today I’ll make zuchini cookies, I think.  Got to try to keep up.. . . .   So how is your garden doing?

As you see I made simple, simple tags using Stampin’ Up! punches.  The tops were also done with punches and stamped with “Delishously Made for You” from the Stamp set “Creatively Yours”.

I must get back in the kitchen.

May your kitchen be over flowing with goodness.

Until my next post. . . . .  . .

Thank You to Those Who Have Donated

Hey all,
I want to share a blog post of my Sis, Sonja’s.   As you may know my Sister heads up Project Give Thanks that gets greeting cards into the hands of Cancer Patients receiving treatment.
Here is a link to her website should you want to donate cards to this wonderful cause.  Click here for Project Give Thanks.   Love all you!  Michelle

Give Thanks for generous card artists!

Project Give Thanks | July 23, 2011 at 11:03 pm | Categories: Uncategorized | URL: http://wp.me/p1pUJX-9y

Give Thanks for generous card artists!  Many people, including me, sure do!!!

Yesterday, I received a package of gorgeous thank you cards from Carla Suto of Chapel Hill, NC.  Here’s a list of wonderful people who have sent packages of cards in the last six weeks…

Karen Rondeau and the “North River Starfish Stampers” of Bradenton, FL

Valory Johnson of Zeeland, MI

Dianne Spagnuolo of Hackensack NJ

Lynn Lang and her monthly stamp club meeting friends

Sheri Petrucci and the “Stuck on Stamping” group

Ladies, you’ve maybe met one another at a Stampin-up event, a craft store, or online admiring each other’s creative work so when I say that I’ve never met a more supportive, GENEROUS, and loving group of women you are not surprised. But, the Cancer survivors who receive your work ARE surprised that you would part with such personal creations.  Recently, I was asked if I pay for shipping and envelopes and I said “No, these ladies pay all of the expenses involved…”.  That didn’t just take her by surprise, it reminded me of so many details involved in getting your creations to people who enjoy them so much.  Your effort is greatly appreciated.  Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

Many (I’m sorry) Sweaty Hugs,

Sonja

Photo: card made for me by Sheri Petrucci.  I LOVE IT!

PS  I’m sorry that I lost Lynn and Sheri’s addresses.  My computer received a new hard drive and some of my data was lost.  Bummer big-time.  But life happily goes on.

Fruit & Flowers Stamp Set Blog Candy

Hey All,

Woohoo!  I’m so excited today!   I get to drive down to Lexington, KY to pick up my beautiful grand daughter.  We will have her for a full 9 days and get to celebrate her 8th birthday while she is here.  Grand Daughter, birthday party, with cake and ice cream, what more could a girl ask for, lol.

She is excited too.  I’ve been receiving at least 5 phone calls a day from Hailie Jade telling me exactly what she wants for her birthday.  I think I better get my checkbook out, this is going to be an expensive visit, grin.  Actually, it is Hailie Jade’s Grandpa that gets suckered in so very, very easily.

I remember one visit, I sent Hailie and Russ to the store to pick up a hooded jacket for her.  They came back with a full outfit, jacket, hair berets, socks etc., etc.   My husband said proudly, we had to accessorize, lol.   Mmmmm, I think the 7 year old won.  But she will only be little once and she is my only grand child.

Any How. . .. .. . .long story short, I have blog candy today instead of a card (haven’t figured out how to drive and stamp yet).. . . . .  You all like no calarie blog candy, right?

Well today I have something fresh out of the New Stampin’ Up Idea Book & Catalog.  It’s the stamp set Fruit and Flowers.

All you have to do to enter to win is leave a comment on this post telling me to enter you.  If you are receiving this blog post via e-mail you will need to click here and then leave a comment.

I will select the winner using a random number generator on Tuesday, July 26, 2011.  Good luck to everyone!

FYI, I will be in Euclid, Ohio on Saturday teaching my brayer techniques.  I hope you were one of the people that got into these workshops.  They filled up so fast it made my head spin!  So ready or not Euclid, Ohio I will be there tomorrow with bells on!  I have some super fun projects for you.

May you be keeping cool this summer day.  How hot is it there?   It’s been smokin’ hot here in Ohio.  I’m such a weenie, I’m talking 90’s.   I bet some of you can only wish the temps would drop to the 90’s.

Until my next post. . . .

Hugs,

Michelle
