Texas Fun, Hospitality and the Blog Candy Winner

dsc06030.JPG  Well I’m back from the Great State of Texas!  I had such a blast meeting everyone and they were so very warm and welcoming.  These ladies welcomed me with such fun treasures to bring back with me.  I knew instantly I was in a super wonderful place when my Fabulous Hostess, Lydia of www.understandblue.blogspot.com   met me at the airport with a goody bag to tie me over in the hotel that included chocolate brownies that I swear the angels themselves made.  Definitely, this trip was off to a great start, lol.

Oh! and then the fun really began with my brayer workshops.  By the way my beginning brayer workshops should come with this warningslc_aug_08_1070.jpg “you will definitely leave with ink on your hands”!

Anyway, we got a little dirtier when a couple of my fellow Split Coast Stamper Dirty Dozen Alumni (Joan & Jeanne) attended along with Jenn, SplitCoastStamper Royalty. slc_aug_08_1068-fixed.jpg If you haven’t met these ladies in person your missing out.  They are a real HOOT!  My sides hurt from laughter after the workshop was over.  🙂

slc_aug_08_1090.jpg

Every single person I met on this trip was an absolute delight!

slc_aug_08_1091.jpg  My Hostess, Lydia and Me

slc_aug_08_1057.jpg  slc_aug_08_1059.jpg

I’m not the only one that went home with treasures.  When you attend one of my beginner workshop you also go home with some terrific items (brayer, Innovative Stamp Creations stamp set, stamping mat, finished projects etc., etc. ) and the mastery of brayering.  🙂

Thank you so much to all of the workshop attendee.  Stampers in Texas are the BEST!

On another note, as promised we have a blog candy winnerdsc06027.JPG

Out of 643 entries the random number generator picked, drum-roll please. . . . . . . .. . . . . . . .

  •  Joy  who wrote, “As a child I remember looking forward to Halloween every year. We didn’t get store bought costumes though. With 9 kids, it was homemade all the way. I don’t think I ever wore a store bought costume ever in my childhood. -) I remember mom cutting up some of her old sheets. She cut holes in them for our arms and heads so we could be ghosts. One year particularly, we didn’t have plastic bags to use for candy, we had paper ones and it started raining and I remember trying to keep my bag from getting wet. I slipped and fell and my bag was all wet and the bottom fell out. I lost all my candy on the ground. I cried then, but when we got home, all my siblings shared their candy with me. Those were good ole’ memories. Halloween, falling, lost candy and all..Thanks for bringing this back to the front of my memory Michelle.   Love your collection of cards you have done for the fall. BTW.. I got my first BRAYER today..wooohooo… I can’t wait to try something like yours.”
  • Joy, please e-mail your address to mzindorf@aim.com and I will get this stamp set in the mail to you ASAP.

    Thanks everyone for playing along!

May your Monday be full of fun, laughter and special memories.

    Until my next post. . . . . .. . .

    Storm Clean Up

I sure hope everyone survived Hurricane Ike.  It swept through Ohio Yesterday afternoon with winds as high as 78 miles per hour.  On it’s way through it took our power for 12 hours, deck cover and our neighbors roofs.  It also left us with our neighbor’s field of corn stalks in our yard, lol.  What a mess!  So today I will be cleaning up the yard before and after work, so no stamping for me today, sigh. . . . .   It’s amazing how very much we rely on electricity.  We had no way of cooking, since I have an electric stove.  Our cars were stuck in the garage since we have an electric garage door.  We have well water here and so we had just a drizzle of water coming out of our faucets since our well pump is run with electric.   So we sat around looking at each other eating chips and pretzels, the only things we had in the house that was consumable that didn’t need cooking, lol.

I will leave you today with a link to my all time favorite blog CONFESSIONS OF A PIONEER WOMAN.  Check it out!  http://thepioneerwoman.com/confessions/

She won blog of the year last year and well deserved it.

Hope everyone is safe and sound.

    Until my next post. . . . . . . . . . . . .

    Hugs,

    Michelle
