Today, I decided to put one of the beautiful snowflake dies from the So Many Snowflakes Dies Set to work on a popped up card topper.  This really adds such great interest to the card since you can see through the snowflake to background.  Adds a lot of bang without a lot of bulk to the card which means a lot when paying for postage. 🙂

Winter Cardinal – Stampin’ Up! Card

Hello Stampers,

Today’s card can be given for a few different occasions ranging from Christmas to Sympathy.  I say sympathy because so many people believe that  

it’s such a lovely thought, especially in my neck of the woods where we see cardinals all the time.  My husband says “everyone who has passed away in our family are having a party at our house.”  Like I said, we have lots of cardinals.

The beautiful cardinal I used today comes from the Stampin’ Up! stamp set Toile Christmas.  I cannot get enough of this bird.  Here are just a few of the cards I did in past months using this set.

  

As you can see, this stamp set can be used year around.  I Love it!

Grateful Autumn Time – Stampin’ Up! Card

Hello Stampers,

Just look at this lovely Autumn colored card I have for you today.  These colors just make me want to SING!

I have a little tip for you that will give your tree cards a bit of a different look.  This tree is from the Life is Beautiful stamp set, 154871 and the tree is pretty straight as is.  But, since it is photopolymer you can bend it when you put it on your block so it looks like it is being bent by the wind when you stamp it.  🙂

Do you ever just feel the need to get grungy with your projects?  As you can tell today I felt that need and just went with it.  I love to get really contrasty with my grunge projects, really dark in areas and really light in areas.  Then add a big pop of color for the focal point.  I think this style of project really invites the viewers eye to wonder around the whole card front and enjoy it a bit longer.  🙂

Love of Leaves – Stampin’ Up! Card

Hello Stampers,

I seen a tree yesterday that has almost completely changed its colors from green to orange and red.  I found myself saying out loud in the car to no one, since I was alone, I’m not ready for this!  I love Autumn and want the season to take its time in its color progression, drag it out for a change.  I’m keeping my fingers crossed.

Anyway, I created this Autumn card using a fun new and simple technique for my background panel using ink and Stampin’ Mist Stamp Cleaner.  I’ve seen all kinds of beautiful designer paper which look similar, so I wanted to make my own with this easy technique and it worked so well.  It’s all in my tutorial.

I snagged a great color combo off of Pinterest.  Just do a search for Color Palette Autumn and you will see some super combos to use.  Pull out your ink colors which are closest to a match to your sample palette and you have a great start to a wonderful card.
