There is a chill in the air this morning and it just feels like Fall, so here is a spooky owl card for you today using the Stampin’ Up! Owl Builder Punch.  I teamed the Owl Builder Punch up with the Stampin’ Up! set Take Care and come up with this spooky scene.

As the card reads, I really am so thankful for you!

Today’s card features the brand new Stampin’ Up! Expressions Thinlits Dies and a big pieced pumpkin.  There is nothing, in my opinion, more Autumn like than a pumpkin.  It brings on feelings of the harvest and all that we should be thankful for, including the people in our lives.

Toil & Trouble – Stampin’ Up! Card Tutorial #631

Well it won’t be long and my all time favorite season will be here.  I adore everything about Autumn.  The harvest, holidays and especially the colors.
I have always loved Halloween and have such found memories of Trick or Treating.  I never once had a store bought costume.  We made up our own costumes back then.  I was a hobo more than once.  Stick with a bandana tied to the end of it, grunged up jeans and over sized flannel shirt, dad’s old hat and you were in business.  What homemade costumes did you come up with as a kid?  I would love to hear about them.
About today’s project, I’m starting my Halloween projects early this year.   Just because I love to make them and I am so excited to already have the new Stampin’ Up! Halloween stamps in hand.    This project has the new Stampin’ Up! sets, Halloween Bash and Toil & Trouble in them, Oooooooo  very spooky. . . . . .

Now on with today’s tutorial. . . . .  . .
Project Supplies:
Stamps: Stampin’ Up! Toil & Trouble (item 131724 wood or 131727 clear) and Halloween Bash (item 130577 wood or 130580 clear)
Card Stock: Stampin’ Up! Whisper White, Basic Gray, Rich Razzelberry and Basic Black
Ink: Stampin’ Up! Basic Black, Basic Gray, Old Olive Pumpkin Pie, Rich Razzelberry, Elegant Eggplant and Stazon Jet Black
Accessories: Stampin’ Up!  Sponges, Stampin’ Dimensionals (item 104430),  Stampin’ Write Basic Black marker, Neutral Candy Dots (item 130934), Apothecary Accents Framelits (item 127003), Big Shot Machine (item 113439), Big Shot Magnetic Platform (item 130658), Chevron Border Punch (item 132154), 1 3/4″ Circle Punch (item 119850), Brayer (item 102395)
Started with a 4.5″ x 6″ piece of Whisper White card stock.  Punched a 1 3/4″ circle from the sticky part of a post it note and used it as a mask for the moon.
Brayered Pumpkin Pie ink at the top of the card stock.
Brayered Rich Razzelberry ink next.
Brayered Elegant Eggplant ink at the very top of the card stock.
Removed the moon mask and then stamped the sentiment stamp from the Toil & Trouble set using Stazon Jet Black ink.
Sponged Old Olive and then Basic Black at the bottom of the card stock.
Die cut one of the dies from the Apothecary Accents Framelits set using Sahara Sand card stock and the Big Shot Machine.  Note:  I cut two but decided to only use one.
Note:  Only used the one on the left.
Cut the bottom off of the die cut.  Sponged Basic Gray ink and Basic Black ink on the piece.
Stamped the crow on Basic Gray card stock using Stazon Jet Black ink.  Cut the image out.
Cropped the main image panel by taking 1/2″ off of both the right and left sides of the card stock.  It now measures 3.5″ x 6″.
Colored in just the middle of the stamp from the Halloween Bash stamp set using a Basic Black marker and then stamped it on the tombstone.  Popped the tombstone and the bird up on the main image panel using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Ripped the edge off of a 3.5″ wide piece of Basic Black card stock and popped it up at the bottom of the main image panel using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Sponged Basic Black ink around the edges.
Cut a 10″ x 6.5″ piece of Basic Gray card stock and folded it in half (card base).  Also cut a 4.75″ x 6.25″ piece of Basic Black card stock and punched the Chevron Border stamp down the left side of it.  Cut a 6.25″ x 3.75″ piece of Rich Razzelberry card stock.
Stamped the inside of the card base with the sentiment from the Halloween Bash stamp set using Stazon Jet Black ink.
Put the card together and added two Sahara Sand Candy dots.  Here it is finished.  🙂

Hey There,

Happy Friday!  I’m ready for the weekend.   How about you?   I need a little R & R, but I have a feeling I’ll be spending time doing some odd jobs that need done around here over the weekend.   I’m hoping for  a bit of a break in the soring temps so I feel like working outside again.   At least I want the feels like temp to be down below 100!

Anyhow, today I’m working in my nice air conditioned office, so no complaints.  I have a cute baby card for you today using the Stampin’ Up! Sweetest Gift stamp set.   Add some clouds and grass and you have a sweet scene to add to your card.   What new parents wouldn’t  get a grin from receiving this?

Stamps: Stampin’ Up! Sweetest Gift (item #130586)

Card Stock: Stampin’ Up! Whisper White and Pear Pizzazz

Ink: Stampin’ Up! Marina Mist, Pear Pizzazz and Stazon Jet Black

Accessories: Stampin’ Up!  Sponges, 1 3/4″ Scallop Circle  Punch (item #119854), Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder (item #117335), Whisper White Ribbon, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Daffodil Delight, Basic Black, Blush Blossom, Pear Pizzazz and Blushing Bride Stampin’ Write Markers and the Big Shot Machine

Started with a 3″ x 4″ piece of Whisper White card stock.  Stamped the baby by coloring directly on the stamp with Pear Pizzazz and Basic Black.  Huffed my breath on the stamp and then stamped it.

Colored the baby’s skin Blush Blossom, shirt Daffodil Delight and then outlined the diaper and bottom of the parachute with Basic Black.

 

Added Pear Pizzazz to the bottom of the parachute and diaper to give it some shading.

Punched a scallop punch out of scrap paper and used it as a mask to create the clouds using Marina Mist ink and a sponge.

 

 

Sponged Pear Pizzazz ink at the bottom of the card stock.

Added Blushing Bride dots at the top of the grass for flowers.  We want that baby to be landing in something soft, lol.

Added Blush Blossom to the baby’s cheeks.

Stamped the sentiment using Stazon Jet Black ink.

Cut a 4″ x 5.25″ panel of Pear Pizzazz and embossed it using the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder and Big Shot Machine.

 

Added a Whisper White card base and Whisper White layer to the main image panel.  Also added Whisper White Ribbon.

Here is the finished card measuring 4.25″ x 5.5″.

Project Supplies:

Stamps: Stampin’ Up! Kind & Cozy (item #129126)

Card Stock: Stampin’ Up! Whisper White, Soft Sky, Island Indigo and Gingham Garden DSP

Ink: Stampin’ Up! Crushed Curry, Island Indigo, Soft Suede and Cajun Craze

Accessories: Stampin’ Up!  Sponges, 2 1/2″ circle punch, 1″ circle punch, Brayer, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Pear Pizzazz & Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Write Markers, Post it note, Delicate Doilies Sizzlit, Circles Collection Framelits and Big Shot Machine

 

Started by using the 4th to the largest Sizzlet Circle from the Circles Collection and cut out a circle from Whisper White card stock.

 

Brayered Crushed Curry on the circle.

Masked the sun using a 1″ circle punched from the sticky part of a post it note.

Brayered Cajun Craze at the top of the circle.

 

Removed the mask and stamped the coffee cup with Island Indigo ink.

Colored the leaves with Pear Pizzazz and flower with Pumpkin Pie.

Masked the top of the circle and sponged Soft Suede ink in on the unmasked area to create a table for the cup to sit on.

Stamped the Gingham circle on Whisper White card stock using Island Indigo ink.  Punched the circle out using a 2.5″ circle punch.

 

 

Adhered the main image circle to the middle of the Gingham circle using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Cut a 5″ x 6.5″ Island Indigo panel, 4.75″ x 6.25″ Soft Sky panel and a 4.25″ x 5.75″ Gingham Garden DSP panel.   Sponged Island Indigo ink on the edges of the DSP panel.

Stamped the flowers at the top and bottom of the panel using Crushed Curry ink.

Cut a 3.5″ square out of Island Indigo.  Cut it in half.

Stamped the flowers on the long edges using Island Indigo ink and then sponged the edges using Island Indigo ink.  Also sponged the edges of the Gingham circle.

Die cut the Doilie using the Big Shot Machine and Island Indigo card stock.

Assembled the card, adding a 6.5″ x 10″ card base folded in half, 1/2″ x 5″ Gingham Garden DSP strip and then applied Crystal Effects to the coffee cup to give it some shine and depth.

Here is the finished card measuring 5″ x 6.5″.

It’s laundry day here at my house, lol.  Just kidding.’

Hope you had a terrific weekend.  Mine was spent dodging rain drops here in Ohio.  I’m searching for the instructions on how to build an arc.  IT HAS RAINED SOOOOO MUCH!

Anyhow, I have this cute little card for you today using the Stampin’ Up! Owl Punch.  Check out the tutorial below.

Now on with today’s tutorial. . . . .  . .

Project Supplies:

Stamps: Stampin’ Up! Happy Day (item #130297)

Card Stock: Stampin’ Up! Whisper White, Old Olive and Strawberry Slush.  Also a scrap of striped Designer Series Paper.

Ink: Stampin’ Up! Tempting Turquoise, Old Olive and Stazon Jet Black

Accessories: Stampin’ Up!  Sponge, Stampin’ Write Markers (Basic Black and Cherry Cobbler), Stripes Embossing Folder, Deco Labels Framelits, Big Shot Machine, Owl Punch, Word Window Punch, Linen Thread, Mini Glue Dots, Stampin’ Dimensionals and Brayer

Punched the vest portion using the Owl Punch out of a scrap of striped designer series paper.

Cut a “v” in the bottom to split the legs.

Punched a Word Window punch from a scrap of DSP.

Cut the end off for the pocket and two like stripes for the shoulder straps.

If you don’t have a dark line at the top of the pocket use a marker to put in a dark stripe at the top.  I used a Cherry Cobbler marker.  This helps you pocket show up better.

Added the pocket and the shoulder straps using glue.

Added two dots for buttons using a Basic Black marker.

Die cut the second to the largest Deco Label Framelit out of Whisper White card stock using the Big Shot Machine.

Swiped the Tempting Turquoise ink pad lightly directly over the top of the card stock to create the sky.  Leave a bit of white showing through for your clouds.  If you don’t like your first attempt, flip the card stock over and do it again.  🙂

Sponged Old Olive ink at the bottom of the card stock to create my grass.  This is done with a pouncing motion.

Added Linen Thread and adhered the ends to the back of the card stock using Mini Glue Dots.

Cut one shoulder strap shorter than the other so the pants would look like they are blowing in the wind.  Added the little pants using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Stamped the sentiment from the Stampin’ Up! Happy Day set using Stazon Jet Black ink and then added dots behind the sentiment using a Basic Black marker.  (I love this stamp set, it has the best sentiments)

Cut the largest Deco Framelit out of Whisper White card stock using the Big Shot Machine.  Added the main image panel using Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop it up.

Cut a 4″ x 5.25″ piece of Old Olive card stock and embossed it using the Stripes embossing folder and the Big Shot Machine.

Brayed Old Olive ink over the card stock to darken the raised lines.

Added a Whisper White card stock base and a Strawberry Slush panel.  Also added Tempting Turquoise candy dots.

Here is the finished card measuring 4.25″ x 5.5″.

Backyard Basics 2 – Stampin’ Up! Card Tutorial #619

Hey There,

I haven’t put away my Stampin’ Up! Backyard Basics stamp set yet.  This card idea has been rattling around in my head since I first seen this set in the new Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog.   So, today I put it out there on paper.

It’s funny I should love bees, since I’m highly allergic to them.   But they are so necessary to our food supply.  Without their pollination, I’m not sure what there would be left for us to eat.   Not to mention, the queen bee.  Gotta love her!

I tend to be friends with strong women, my family would probably testify that I am one of them.  My husband and sons even nicknamed me the dominator, lol.  Anyhow, we probably all know someone a Queen Bee card would be suitable for.   Please tell me I am not the only one.

Project Supplies:

Stamps: Stampin’ Up! Backyard Basics (item #129258), Morning Post Alphabet (hand stamp) (item #126592), En Francais background stamp (ite, Amazing Accent Wheel (item #130106)

Card Stock: Stampin’ Up! Whisper White, Soft Suede and Basic Black

Ink: Stampin’ Up! Baked Brown Sugar, Sahara Sand, Early Espresso, Smoky Slate, Soft Suede, Crumb Cake and Stazon Jet Black

Accessories: Stampin’ Up!  Sponges, Basic Black & Soft Suede Stampin’ Write Markers, Word Window Punch, Brayer, Honeycomb Embossing Folder, Sizzix Timeless Type Alphabet dies, Post it note and Neutrals Candy Dots

Started with a 4″ square piece of Whisper White card stock and Wheeled the Amazing Accent Wheel on the bottom of the card stock using Baked Brown Sugar ink.

Masked the image on the bottom of the card stock using a post it note.  Then Wheeled the same wheel on the right side of the card stock using Smoky Slate ink.

Removed the post it note mask and stamp the bee stamp twice with Stazon Jet Black ink.

Stamped the background stamp on the left side of the card stock using Stazon Jet Black ink.

Sponged Crumb Cake ink on the left and bottom sides of the card stock.

Sponged Sahara Sand on the Right side of the card stock.

Sponged Soft Suede ink around the edges of the card stock.

Sponged Early Espresso ink on the very edge of the card stock.

Masked all put the design on the bottom of the card stock using a post it note.  Sponged Soft Suede ink at the post it note edge to bring out the bottom image.

Colored the tops of the bee’s wings and the stripes on the body using a Soft Suede marker.

 

Colored the legs, eyes and the rest of the stripes using a Basic Black marker.

Cut a 5.25″ square piece of Soft Suede card stock and ran it through the Big Shot using the Honeycomb Embossing folder twice.  The second time lining moving the card stock over and lining the already embossed image up.  It’s simpler than it sound, lol.

 

Brayered over the embossed card stock using Soft Suede ink to bring the embossed image out more.

Layered these with 2 Basic Black panels.   Added a Whisper White card base also that measures 5.5″ square when folded.

Punched a Basic Black Word Window Punch and folded it in half and then cut it in half.

Stamped the hand from the Morning Post Alphabet using Stazon Jet Black ink on Crumb Cake card stock.  Colored the sleeve in with Soft Suede marker and then cut the image out.

Die cut the Word “queen” using the Big Shot Machine and the Timeless Type Alphabet using Basic Black ink.   Assembled my card adding the hand image and the word window punch along with Sahara Sand Candy Dots.

Here is the finished card measuring 5.5″ square.

Stamps: Stampin’ Up! Cycle Celebration (item number 130273)

Card Stock: Stampin’ Up! Whisper White, Smoky Slate and Basic Black

Ink: Stampin’ Up! Cherry Cobbler, Crushed Curry, Smoky Slate, Tangerine Tango, Basic Black and Stazon Jet Black

Accessories: Stampin’ Up!  Sponges, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Sahara Sand Stampin’ Write Marker, Brayer, Piercing Tools, Essentials Hardware Clips, 1 3/8″ Circle Punch, Timeless Type Alphabet Sizzlits and Big Shot Machine

Started by Brayering Crushed Curry ink at the top of a 4″ square piece of Whisper White card stock.

Masked the paper for my sun using a 1 3/8″ circle punched from the sticky part of a post it note.  I keep a container of these circles already punch on my desk for quick masking.

Brayered Tangerine Tango ink on the top of the card stock.

Brayered Cherry Cobbler ink at the very top of the card stock.

Unmasked the sun and sponged Smoky Slate ink at the bottom of the card stock.

Stamped the bike using Stazon Jet Black ink.

Sponged Basic Black ink at the very bottom of the card stock.

 

Diecut from Basic Black card stock the word “Ride” using the Timeless Type Alphabet Sizzlits and the Big Shot Machine.  Note this alphabet is retired from the catalog, but you could substitute stamped letters or another die alphabet.  These letters are 1″ high.

Also colored the inside of the wheels in using a Sahara Sand marker.

Sponged Tangerine Tango ink the center of the sun.

Added a 4 1/8″ square Smoky Slate card stock panel and 2 Essentials Hardware Clips.

Added a 4.75″ square Basic Black card stock panel and a 5 1/2″ Smoky Slate card stock card base.  Pierced holes around the edge of the card base using piercing tools.

Added a bit more Sahara Sand marker to the center of the wheels.

Here is the finished card measuring 5 1/2″ square.

Wetlands – Stampin’ Up! Card Tutorial #613

Hey There,

I’m a little over whelmed by all the new Stampin’ Up! things I have here to play with.  Do you ever get that way?  So many toys, so little time, lol.  It’s a terrible problem, not!

I did finally grab out some of my very favorites from the new catalog and decided we would go to the beach together.  At least on paper.  Check it out, I used the Stampin’  Up! Wetlands set, LOVE IT!!!!   There is not a stamp in this set I could do without.  Hope you try this tutorial out.  Happy Stamping!

Project Supplies:

Stamps: Stampin’ Up! Wetlands (item #126697) and Woodgrain (item #128763)

Card Stock: Stampin’ Up! Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso and Soft Suede

Ink: Stampin’ Up! Old Olive, Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Soft Sky and Island Indigo

Accessories: Stampin’ Up!  Brayer, Neutral Candy Dots, Modern Mosaic Embossing Folder (item #129984), Deco Labels Framelits (item #130102), Sponges and a post it note

 

I love Stampin’ Up’s framelits and this new set of Deco Labels is no exception.  So I started out this project with them.

Used the second to the largest framelit to cut out my main image panel with the Big Shot and Whisper White card stock.

Brayered Soft Sky ink on the top half of the card stock.

Brayered Island Indigo ink on the very top of the card stock.

Masked part of the sky area with a post it note and lightly sponged Island ink at the post it note’s edge to create my horizon line.

Removed the mask and sponged Crumb Cake ink at the bottom of the card stock to create the sand.

Stamped the grasses stamp from the Wetlands stamp set 3 times using Old Olive ink.

Sponged Soft Suede at the bottom of the card stock and then around the edges.

 

Used the largest Deco Labels Framelit, Big Shot Machine and Crumb Cake card stock and cut out my layer for the back of the main image panel.

Stamped the Woodgrain stamp on the Crumb Cake panel using Soft Suede ink.

Sponged Soft Suede ink on the edges of the card stock.

Cut a 4″ x 5.25″ piece of Crumb Cake card stock and embossed it using the new Modern Mosaic Embossing Folder and Big Shot Machine.

Lightly brayered Soft Suede ink over the embossed image to bring out more and to grunge up the card stock a bit.

Sponged Early Espresso ink around the edges.

Added a 4.25″ x 5.5″ Early Espesso panel, Whisper White card base and Soft Suede Candy Dots.

Here is the finished card.

Handmade Tag – Stampin’ Up! Tutorial #612

Hey There,

I have been busy of late making quilted coasters for my farmer’s market stand.   They needed a special tag.   You know you just don’t put this much effort into making something and then not package them well.   So, I’ve got a little tag project tutorial for you today.

To make the tags I used the brand new and exciting magnetic platform for the Big Shot Machine.  It makes using the framelits a snap because it keeps your framelits from shifting on you.  Brilliant product! Also used the new Chalk Talk framelits.   Super awesome product to make all sorts of tags.

Card Stock: Stampin’ Up! Whisper White

Ink: Stampin’ Up! Pear Pizzazz, Soft Sky, Old Olive and Stazon Jet Black

Accessories: Stampin’ Up!  Big Shot Machine, Magnetic Platform (item # 130658), sponge, Chalk Talk Framelits (item #129983)

 

Using the Big Shot machine with the new Magnetic Platform and Chalk Talk Framelits cut out my tags using Whisper White card stock.

 

See the great pieces that come in the Chalk talk framelits.  You get all the little pieces that make very professional looking holes for your ribbon etc and tag shapes.   This set will get lots of use here in my craft space.  I can see using the hole pieces with my other framelits that I have in my arsenal.

After cutting my tag, swiped the Soft Sky ink pad across the top of the tag.

Swiped the Pear Pizzazz ink pad across the bottom of the tag.

Stamped the flourish from the Everything Eleanor set using Old Olive ink.

Stamped the bird from the Everything Eleanor set using Stazon Jet Black ink.

Stamped the Handmade stamp from the Creatively Yours set using Stazon Jet Black ink.

Sponged a bit of Old Olive ink at the bottom of the tag using a pouncing motion.

Here are my finished coaster packs.  I added the tag to them using twine.
