Handmade Tag – Stampin’ Up! Tutorial #612

Hey There,

I have been busy of late making quilted coasters for my farmer’s market stand.   They needed a special tag.   You know you just don’t put this much effort into making something and then not package them well.   So, I’ve got a little tag project tutorial for you today.

To make the tags I used the brand new and exciting magnetic platform for the Big Shot Machine.  It makes using the framelits a snap because it keeps your framelits from shifting on you.  Brilliant product! Also used the new Chalk Talk framelits.   Super awesome product to make all sorts of tags.

The complete tutorial for the tag is below.  You can check out my previous tutorial on making quilted coasters by CLICKING HERE.

Now on with today’s tutorial. . . . .  . .

Project Supplies:

Stamps: Stampin’ Up! Everything Eleanor (item #124164) and Creatively Yours (item #122612)

Card Stock: Stampin’ Up! Whisper White

Ink: Stampin’ Up! Pear Pizzazz, Soft Sky, Old Olive and Stazon Jet Black

Accessories: Stampin’ Up!  Big Shot Machine, Magnetic Platform (item # 130658), sponge, Chalk Talk Framelits (item #129983)

Using the Big Shot machine with the new Magnetic Platform and Chalk Talk Framelits cut out my tags using Whisper White card stock.

See the great pieces that come in the Chalk talk framelits.  You get all the little pieces that make very professional looking holes for your ribbon etc and tag shapes.   This set will get lots of use here in my craft space.  I can see using the hole pieces with my other framelits that I have in my arsenal.

After cutting my tag, swiped the Soft Sky ink pad across the top of the tag.

Swiped the Pear Pizzazz ink pad across the bottom of the tag.

Stamped the flourish from the Everything Eleanor set using Old Olive ink.

Stamped the bird from the Everything Eleanor set using Stazon Jet Black ink.

Stamped the Handmade stamp from the Creatively Yours set using Stazon Jet Black ink.

Sponged a bit of Old Olive ink at the bottom of the tag using a pouncing motion.

Here are my finished coaster packs.  I added the tag to them using twine.

May your day be super special.

Until my next post. . . . . .

Huge Hugs!

Summer Silhouettes – Stampin’ Up! Card Tutorial #607

Hey There,

This week I will be featuring card tutorials made with the Stampin’ Up! set Summer Silhouettes.    The Queen Anne’s Lace stamp really jumped out at me.  I love to see Queen Anne’s Lace growing at the side of a country road.  So to give that country feeling I teamed the stamp set up with some brand new Stampin’ Up! designer series paper (Gingham Garden item #129310) and Regals Candy Dots item #130932) which will be in the new annual catalog that starts on May 31st.  Check out my tutorial below.

Card Stock: Stampin’ Up! Whisper White, Primrose Petal, Blushing Bride and Gingham Garden item #129310

Ink: Stampin’ Up! Primrose Petal, Blushing Bride and Old Olive

Accessories: Stampin’ Up!  Sponge, Framelits – Oval Collection, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Brayer, White Gel Pen, Big Shot Machine, Regals Candy Dots and Word Windows Punch

Die cut the 3rd to the smallest Oval in the Framelits Oval Collection out of Whisper White card stock using the Big Shot Machine.

Brayered Blushing Bride ink at an angle on the oval.

Brayered Primrose Petal ink at an angle not covering the Blushing Bride ink entirely.

Stamped the Queen Anne’s Lace stamp using Old Olive ink twice.

Stamped the leaves stamp twice using Old Olive ink.

Stamped the flowers using Primrose Petal ink.

Sponged Old Olive ink at the edge of the card stock in the Leafy area.

Added White Gel Pen dots in the flowers and highlighted the leaves.

Cut a 5″ x 2.25″ piece of Gingham DSP and cut half of the oval out using the 5th to the smallest oval and the Big Shot Machine.

Cut a 2.5″ x 8.5″ piece of Primrose Petal card stock and cut 1/2 of the 4th to largest oval out using the Big Shot Machine.

Lined the DSP up on the Primerose Petal card stock and then cut the edges off of the card stock.

Punched two Word Window punches out of Primerose Petal card stock.  Attached the Word Window Punches, the card stock with the 1/2 ovals to a 4.25″ x 5.5″ Blushing Bride card base.

Added Primerose Petal Candy Dots and then popped the main image panel up using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Not Just For Fall II – Stampin’ Up! Card Tutorial #606

Hey There,

I’m continuing on using the Stampin’ Up! set Gently Falling for today’s card tutorial.  I hope you are seeing just how valuable this set is all year long.  It’s so much fun using a stamp set in an unexpected way.

Leaves are on the trees, pretty much 9 out of 12 months of the year here in Ohio, but it seems that we really only appreciate their beauty in the Autumn months.  Why is that, especially since they give us such relief from the heat in the Summer by provided us much needed shade.  Okay, I confess, I’m a tree hugger, lol.

Check out the tutorial below.

!***************************************************************

I’ve added the featured card of the day to my sales page where you will also find some great deals on retired stamp sets and my brayer video.  CLICK HERE TO CHECK IT OUT

***************************************************************

Now on with today’s tutorial. . . . .  . .

Project Supplies:

Stamps: Stampin’ Up! Gently Falling (item # 123804) and DayDream Wheel (item #126939)

Card Stock: Stampin’ Up! Whisper White, Old Olive, Pistachio Pudding,  and Island Indigo

Ink: Stampin’ Up! Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Marina Mist, Island Indigo, Always Artichoke and Old Olive

Accessories: Stampin’ Up!  Sponges, Soft Suede Seam Binding, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Wood Embossing Folder, Regals Candy Dots, Versamark pad, Heat Gun, Clear Embossing Powder and Big Shot Machine

Load the Daydream wheel with Versamark and rolled across a 3″ x 6.25″ piece of Whisper White card stock using a ruler to keep things straight.

Heat emboss the image using clear embossing powder and a heat gun.

Sponged Marina Mist ink at on the left side of the card stock.

Sponged Crumb Cake ink on the right side of the card stock.

Added Soft Suede ink to the right center of the card stock and around the edges on the right side.

Sponged Island Indigo ink on the left center of the card stock and around the edges of the left side.

Stamped 3 leaves on Pistachio Pudding card stock using Always Artichoke ink.

Stamped the leaf filler stamp using Old Olive.

Cut the leaves out and sponged Soft Suede ink on the stem end of the leaves and Island Indigo on the top tips of the leaves.

Adhered the leaves to the main image panel using Stampin’ Dimensionals on the top of the leaves and glue on the bottom (stem end) of the leaves.  This adheres the leaves to the card stock and pops the top of them up but secures the stem.

Cut a 8.5″ x 3.75″ piece of Island Indigo card stock and embossed it using the Wood embossing folder and the Big Shot machine.  You need to run it through twice to get both ends of the card stock.  You can see the crease where the design meets but it looks like part of the design once the card is put together.

Added a 8″ x 9″ Old Olive card base and Soft Suede Seam binding.

Added a 3.25″ x 6.5″ Old Olive panel under the main image panel and the adhered them to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Also added Island Indigo Candy Dots.

Here is the completed card that measures 4″ x 9″.  This size card fits into a #10 size business envelope.  Anyone remember how all the funny cards years back use to be this size?  Maybe I’m showing my age here, lol.

Mouthwatering – Stampin’ Up! Tutorial #596

Hey There,

Do you think I’m wishing for the warm days of Summer or what?  It’s been a long Winter.  So sorry to all of you that are still getting the white stuff and cold temps.  Maybe this card will help warm you up.

I put this card together using the super cute Stampin’ Up! Mouthwatering set.  It has images of the things I like to eat in the Summer.

I used the emboss resist technique and really made good use of my Stampin’ Up! Square Lattice Embossing Folder.  Check out the tutorial below.

Now on with today’s tutorial. . . . .  . .

Project Supplies:

Stamps: Stampin’ Up!  Mouthwatering (item #125677)

Card Stock: Stampin’ Up! Whisper White, Basic Black, Old Olive and Soft Suede

Ink: Stampin’ Up! Soft Suede and Pacific Point

Accessories: Stampin’ Up! Sponges, Ruler, Rose Red Seam Binding, Markers (Rose Red, Old Olive, Always Artichoke, Basic Black and Soft Suede), Versamarker, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Big Shot, Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Gun, Paper Towel and Post it Notes

Stamped the watermelon image on a 5.25″ x 3″ piece of Whisper White card stock by coloring the stamp with Old Olive marker and Rose Red Marker, huffing my breath on the stamp to moisten and then stamped the image.  Repeated to stamp the second watermelon.

Added a bit of Always Artichoke marker at the outside edge of the watermelon and colored the seeds Basic Black.

Colored over both images using a Veramarker (staying inside of the image) and then heat embossed them using clear embossing powder and a heat gun.   Repeat if there are dimples in your embossing.

Masked the bottom of the card stock using post it notes and sponged Pacific Point ink at the top of the card stock.

Masked the top of the card stock, leaving a hint of the blue showing and sponged Soft Suede ink at the bottom of the card stock.

Using a ruler, put in 3 lines in the Soft Suede area using a Soft Suede marker.  Sponged Soft Suede ink in for the shadow.

Gently wiped off my embossed images and quickly heated them up again to bring back the shine.

Ran the main image panel and Old Olive panel and a Soft Suede panel through the Big Shot using the Square Lattic embossing folder.

Added two Basic Black panels, a Whisper White card base and Rose Red Seam Binding.   Popped the main image panel up using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Here is the finished card measuring 5″ x 6.5″.

May your day be filled with the warmth of Spring.

Until my next post. . . . . .

Stampin’ Up’s Color Refresh! I love color and I know that you do too. Color is fundamental to who Stampin’ Up! is and what they offer. It’s important for us to stay up-to-date with color trends so I am thrilled to share Stampin’ Up’s updated line of colors, and hope you will be as excited as I am by the new possibilities!

Why now? In 2010 Stampin’ Up! did a big color renovation and shared their plans for smaller color refreshes every three to five years to keep their colors on trend. Well it has been three years and I am excited to announce that the upcoming 2013-2014 annual catalog will include 10 new colors (most of which are returning In Colors from previous years)! Stampin’ Up! is welcoming back some of your favorites, moving some colors around, and introducing one brand-new color, so take a look!

Beginning on April 4, 2013, all retiring/discontinued color products (i.e. ink, paper, ribbon, accessories, etc.) will be available only while supplies last. This means that some products will not be available through the retired list period. Stampin’ Up! did anticipate increased demand and based their forecasts for these retiring colors on historical sales information from previous color transitions. However, even with the most careful planning, the response to a transition of this nature can surprise everyone–including your own personal purchases. We encourage you to get your favorites and look forward to the exciting colors coming in the 2013-2014 annual catalog.

dsc09884.JPG

Used my Big Shot and Top Note Die to cut this Top Note out of Whisper White card stock.

dsc09860.JPG

I then cut 1.25″ of it off at one end.

dsc09861.JPG

Trimmed the outer edge off of both pieces with scissors.

dsc09862.JPG

Sponged on Summer Sun ink.

dsc09863.JPG

Sponged on Pumpkin Pie ink.

dsc09864.JPG

Masked the top of the card stock with a Post it Note.

dsc09865.JPG

Sponged Pumpkin Pie ink on the unmasked area.

dsc09866.JPG

Sponged Dusty Durango ink (another great new In Color by Stampin’ Up) on the bottom of the card stock, not covering the Pumpkin Pie ink entirely.

dsc09867.JPG

Took the Post it note off and turned it around so it is masking the bottom of the card stock and sponged a bit of Chocolate Chip ink at the Post it note edge.

dsc09868.JPG

Removed the Post it note and Sponged Dusy Durango on the small piece of card stock and the very top of the larger one.

dsc09869.JPG

Sponged Chocolate Chip ink at the bottom of the large piece and top of the small piece of card stock.

dsc09870.JPG

Stamped the Asian Artistry flower twice with Chocolate Chip ink.

dsc09871.JPG

I have a bunch of these Sakura Souffle pens and this is the first time I have used one in a tutorial, but I bet you will see this again in the future.  These pens can be used on dark colored card stock and stand out great!  They don’t sink into the card stock put stay raised.

Use the light blue Souffle Sakura pen on the flower portion of the image.  It is hard to see it until it dries completely.

dsc09872.JPG

Added White gel pen highlights to the foliage.

dsc09873.JPG

Cut another Top Note out of Bashful Blue card stock.

dsc09874.JPG

Glued the main image panel pieces to the Bashful Blue Top Note and then cut it apart.

dsc09875.JPG

dsc09876.JPG

Assembled part of the card front and added piercings down the right and left side using the Stampin’ Up Piercing tools and mat kit.

dsc09877.JPG

dsc09878.JPG

Added White Gel Pen from one piercing whole to the next to create faux stitching.

dsc09879.JPG

Added Silver brads and assembled the card the rest of the way.  Here it is finished measuring 5.25″ square.

dsc09883.JPG

I hope this tutorial has inspired you to create a scene today.

Until my next post. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
