Hey There,

Well we made it to hump day (Wednesday).   This is always the day of the week when I wake up and say Oh! *%$@, I need to get this, that and the other thing done before the weekend.   So, my day started out feeling a bit rushed, but hey, I got up at 4:00 a.m., got my project for the day completed and I’m sitting here writing this at 7:30 a.m.    Not a bad start of the day at all, grin.

Today’s tutorial pairs up the always fabulous Stampin’ Up! Day of Gratitude stamp set with they wonderful for every season, Stampin’ Up! set Season of Friendship.   I love when I can take a stamp and use it in an unexpected way and it works out.   Check it out in the tutorial below.

Brayered Tempting Turquoise ink at the top of a 4.75″ square piece of Whisper White card stock.

Loaded the Day of Gratitude Medallion with More Mustard and then the edges with Cajun Craze before stamping it int he top left corner.

Sponged Pear Pizzazz in the Medallion.

Stamped the Tree in Soft Suede ink.

Stamped the bird on the branch using Basic Black ink.  (Are you feeling like you need glasses, yet.   lol)

Stamped the flower from the Day of Gratitude set all around the edge of the card stock using Soft Suede ink

Sponged Old Olive ink at the bottom of the card stock.

Sponged Cajun Craze ink at the bottom of the card stock.  (Ahh, now we are back in focus, shesh!)

Sponged Chocolate Chip ink around the edges of the card stock.

Punched a Stampin’ Up! Decorative Label out of Old Olive card stock and cut it in half.

Cute a 5.25″ square Old Olive panel and sponge Chocolate Chip ink around the edges of the panel and 1/2 of the label punch.

Bird in the Window – Tutorial #460

Hey There,

Happy Tuesday!

As I was looking through my stamps today I got the wild idea to put the Stampin’ Up! Language of Friendship bird in to the Stampin’ Up! Nature’s Nest and lookie there, it fits!   I know the nest has eggs in it, but the bird covers them up nicely.    Also, the Stampin’ Up! Season of Friendship Tree sideways is a great branch for the two to sit on.

I did pull out my Watercolor Wonder Crayons to get a soft look to the nest and the bird.  Ever colored with markers and found them to be too bright or bold.  Well the Watercolor Wonder Crayons blend beautifully and you can rub them in with your finger to give them a softer look.  Hang out a moment and check this tutorial out.

Creepy – Tutorial #459

Hey There,

It’s that time year for a creepy card and the Stampin’ Up! set Howl-o-ween Creeps (item #123829) is a great set to get creepy with.  The minute I seen the werewolf I knew he belonged in the woods creeping about with the Stampin’ Up! Season of Friendship Tree (set #111776).  Love when I can take 2 very different sets and combine them to make a scene.   Hang out a moment to see how it’s done.

Now on with today’s tutorial. . . .  .

Supplies:

Stamps: Stampin’ Up! Lovely As a Tree
Paper: Stampin’ Up! Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, More Mustard and First Addition Designer Paper
Ink: Stampin’ Up! Baja Breeze, More Mustard, Soft Suede and Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Stampin’ Up! Sponges, Brayer, Chocolate Chip Scallop Dots Ribbon, Corner Round punch, Stamp-a-ma-jig, glimmer brads
Techniques: Brayering, Brayer, Reflection

Ripped a post it note and masked for the clouds on a 4.25″ square piece of Whisper White card stock.  Brayered Baja Breeze ink at the top of the card stock.

Removed the post it note mask and brayered More Mustard ink at the bottom of the card stock.

Created bushes by masking the bottom of the card stock and stamped the trees from the Stampin’ Up! Lovely as a Tree set using Soft Suede ink a few times.  Stamp the images so that only the tops of the trees are on the card stock.

Sponged Soft Suede ink over the bushes.

Stamp the same image higher up using Chocolate Chip ink.

Removed the mask, turned it around to mask the sky.  Sponged Soft Suede ink at the top of the water area.

Sponged Chocolate Chip ink right at the post it note edge.

Stamped the Lovely as a tree stamp using Chocolate Chip ink on the slick side of a Stamp-a-ma-jig plastic sheet (you can use a window sheet also).   Flipped the plastic sheet over, lined the image up with the trees already stamped (you can see the trees through the post it note) to create a reflection.  Rubbed the back of the plastic sheet to transfer the image.

Removed the mask and used the Corner Rounder on my main image panel, Chocolate Chip panel, More Mustard panel and a Designer Series paper panel.

Layered a Chocolate Chip panel, Designer Series paper panel, More Mustard panel and Chocolate Chip ribbon.

Added another Chocolate Chip panel and the main image panel.  Also added Glimmer Brads for a bit of bling.

Tied a knot on the front of the card.

Here is the finished card measuring 5.5″ square.

May your reflection of today be one full of joy.

Masked the very bottom of a 3.25″ x 5″ piece of Whisper White card stock using a Post it Note that has the edge torn off of it.

Brayered Baja Breeze ink at the top of the card stock.

Masked the moon using a 1 1/4″ circle punched from a Post it note.

Brayered Island Indigo ink at the top of the card stock, not covering the Baja Breeze ink entirely.

Brayered Night of Navy ink at the top of the card stock, not covering the Island Indigo ink entirely.

Brayered Sahara Sand ink at the bottom of the sky area.

Punched the Blossom Petals Builder Punch twice from Whisper White card stock.  Used a few of the petals and adhered them to the card stock.

Stamped the tree trunks from the Trendy Tree Stamp set using Chocolate Chip ink and a Stamp-a-ma-jig for placement.

There may be a slight gap in the tree trunk where you are stamping over multiple layers of card stock.  Filled the gap in with a Chocolate Chip marker.

Added Baja Breeze ink for the shadow in the tree and below the tree using an Aqua Painter.  I pushed the ink pad lid into the ink pad by squeezing it when it is closed in order to get a pool of ink in the ink pad lid in which to use.  Clear as mud?

Added 3 Chocolate Chip panels and 1 Baja Breeze panel, 2 Whisper White Doily Triple Layer punches, Mini Silver Brads and Baja Breeze seam binding.

Here is the finished card measuring 5″ x 6.5″.

May your dreams be full of wonderful ideas.

Colored the bottom of the pumpkins in using a Pumpkin Pie Marker.

Punched a 2.5″ circle from a post it note and used it to mask my moon by putting it on a 3.5″ x 4.5″ piece of Whisper White card stock.

Brayer Tempting Turquoise ink at the top left corner of the card stock at an angle.

Brayered Perfect Plum in and then Elegant Eggplant ink at an angle on the bottom right corner of the card stock.

Stamped the Season of Friendship tree using Basic Black ink.

Stamp a few Season of Friendship Leaves using Cajun Craze ink.

On a scrap piece of Whisper White card stock, stamp the Jack of All Trades Pumpkin by loading the stamp with More Mustard ink and then patted the Cajun Craze ink pad on the stamp so the left side of the image comes out shadowed.  Note:  you will put the Cajun Craze ink on the left side of the stamp to have it come out on the right side of the image.  Clear as mud?  LOL

Stamp the Jack of All Trades face on the pumpkin using Basic Black ink.

Cut the pumpkin out and then cut a piece off of the top.  Keep the small piece you cut off.

Stamp the “C” is for Cat, cat using Basic Black ink 1″ from othe bottom of the card stock.

Color in the cat’s eye and collar in with a White Gel Pen.

Added a 4″ x 5.5″ Basic Black panel.  Take a 4″ wide piece of Old Olive card stock and rip the top of it and then adhere it to the card stock so that it comes up to the bottom of the tree.

Adhere the pumpkin on.

Added a 4″ wide piece of Basic Black card stock that has been ripped on the top edge.  Have it come past the bottom of the pumpkin a little bit.

Added the pumpkin lid.

Stamp the stem on top of the lid using Basic Black ink.

Stamp the vine using Old Olive ink and then color it in using Old Olive marker.  Add a bit more shadow to the lid’s bottom, pumpkin’ s right side and bottom and to the bottom of the leaves using Cajun Craze marker.  Also add a bit of Cajun Craze marker to the sides of the cat and have it met the pumpkin edge.

Add White Gel pen highlights to the leaves, Pumpkin rim, Pumpkin’s mouth, lid stem and vine.

Added a 5″ x 6.5″ Basic Black panel, 4.75″ x 6.25″ Perfect Plum Panel and two 1″ Basic Black square punches.

Here is the finished card measuring 5″ x 6.5″.
