Here in Ohio the sun is shining really bright and the sky is blue.  Makes me think of summer.  I rushed through this project today so I can hurry up and head out to my perennial gardens to get dirty and feel the sun on my face.  I hope you are in a position today to soak up the sun as well.

Stamps: Stampin’ Up Just Beachy, Poscket Silhouettes, Season of Joy, Embrace Life

Paper: Stampin’ Up Whisper White, Basic Black & Close to Cocoa

Ink: Stampin’ Up Taken with Teal, Craft White, Close to Cocoa, Basic Black, Tempting Turquoise, Creamy Caramel

Accessories: Versamark pad and marker, Sponges, White Gel pen, Stampin’ Up markers, Post it note, Clear embossing powder, heat gun, Brayer

Stamped the car by first loading the stamp with Versamark and then loading it with Black ink before stamping it on a 3.5″ x 8.5″ piece of Whisper White card stock.

Stamped the flip flops by first loading the stamp with Versamark and then with Basic Black ink before stamping them.

Heat embossed both images using clear embossing powder and a heat gun.

Colored in the surf board and parts of the flip flops with a Real Red marker.

Colored the wood on the car and parts of the flip flops with a Close to Cocoa marker.

Colored the car and parts of the flip flops with a Summer Sun marker.

Colored cars tires and parts of the flip flops with a Creamy Caramel marker.

Colored over the car and the flip flops with a Versamark marker and heat embossed the image using clear embossing powder and a heat gun.

Brayered on Creamy Caramel ink at an angle over the bottom of the card stock.

Flipped over the card stock and brayered Tempting Turquoise ink at an angle.

Masked the sky area with a couple of post it notes.

Sponged Taken with Teal ink right at the post it note edge to create my horizon line.

Sponged Taken with Teal at the top of the card stock.

Stamped the flowers a few times with Basic Black ink at the right hand bottom corner of the card stock.

Colored over the flowers with a Real Red marker.

Sponged Close to Cocoa at the top of the ground area.

Sponged Taken with Teal ink on and above the Close to Cocoa ink I just sponged on.

Stamped the flourish with White Craft ink then used a White Gel pen and traced over part of the flourish to make it brighter.   Added White gel pen Highlights to the flowers.  Added White dots to create foam at the waters edge.

Stamped the Sentiment with Taken with Teal ink.

Assembled card and here it is finished measuring 4″ x 9″.

Stamps: Stampin’ Up Bird on a Branch & Pocket Silhouettes

Paper: Stampin’ Up Bashful Blue and Whisper White

Ink: Stampin’ Up Brilliant Blue, Garden Green, Apricot Appeal & Bashful Blue

Accessories: Stampin’ Up markers Brilliant Blue and Garden Green, White Gel Pen, Versmark marker and pad, Brayer, Clear embossing powder & Heat gun, Photo Corner Punch, Sponge, Big Shot Top Note Die Cut, Brilliant Blue Ribbon, Blue Button

Stamped the bird by first loading the stamp with Versamark and then Garden Green ink before stamping it on a 3″ x 5″ piece of Whisper White card stock. 

Although in my photos my Bird looks Black it is actually Garden Green.  Please envision the bird being Garden Green through out this project, lol.

Heat embossed the bird with clear embossing powder and a heat gun.

Stamped the branch twice by first loading the stamp with Versamark and then Brilliant Blue ink before stamping it.

Heat embossed the branches with clear embossing powder and a heat gun.

Stamped the Flowers by first loading the stamp with Versamark and then with Bashful blue ink before stamping them.  Heat embossed the flowers with clear embossing powder and a heat gun.

Note:  Learn from my mistake and stamp the flowers first and then the branches if you try this tutorial.  It would look much better.  🙂

Colored over the white centers of the flowers with a Versamark marker and then heat embossed them with clear embossing powder.  I did this to retain the white in the flowers.

Brayered Bashful Blue ink at an angle onto the top of the card stock.

Brayered Apricot Appeal ink at an angle at the bottom of the card stock.

Stamped flowers from the Pocket Silhouettes set with both Garden Green ink and Brilliant Blue ink.

Colored over the Garden Green flower heads with a Garden Green marker.

Colored over the Brilliant Blue Flower heads with a Brilliant Blue marker.

Highlighted the flower heads and the bird with a White Gel pen.

Cut out a Whisper White Top Note with my Big Shot Die Cutting Machine.  The cut the top note in half.

Sponged Brilliant Blue all around the main image panel and at the top and bottom of a Whisper White panel.

Assembled the card front and added Whisper White Photo Corner Punches to the left side corners.

Used a Brilliant Blue marker to go over the die cut holes around the edge of the top note die cut.  Very easy way to simulate sewing.  🙂 

Added a blue button and put White Gel pen in the center of the button to make it look like it has white thread in the center.

Here is my assembled Mother’s Day card measuring 5″ x 6.5″.

I had a little fun with Circles this morning.  I also used a lot of red in this creation, which I never do.  It gave it a bit of Oriental feel, don’t you think?

Supplies:

Stamps:Stampin’ Up Thoughts & Prayers, Stampendous Marble Texture Cube

Paper: Stampin’ Up Riding Hood Red, Whisper White, Basic Black

Ink: Stampin’ Up Creamy Caramel, Basic Black, Riding Hood Red, Close to Cocoa

Accessories:Versamark Pad, Sharpie Gold Paint Marker, Gold Gel Pen, Black Marker, Brayer, Sponge, White Gel Pen, Stampin Up Markers

Stamped Floral image by first loading the stamp with Versamark and then colored colored the flowers with a Real Red Marker and the leaves and branch with a Basic Black marker an then huffed on it and stamped it on a 3.5″ x 5.5″ piece of Whisper White card stock.

Heat embossed the image using clear embossing powder and a heat gun.

Now that my image is heat embossed it will resist ink put over it. 

Brayered Creamy Caramel ink at an angle on the card stock.

Cut a circle from with my Curvy Cutter out of a scrap piece of card stock. 

Used the Negative piece as a mask and sponged on Riding Hood Red ink inside the masked area.

Brayered Riding Hood Ink at an angle on the card stock.

Stamped Side “A” of the Marble Texture Cube using Riding Hood Red Ink.

Stamped side “C” of the Marble Texture Cube using Close to Cocoa Ink.

Sponged Close to Cocoa ink on the right side of the card stock.

Used the cut out circle and put it over the sponged circle on the card stock and then traced around it with a Gold Gel Pen.

Used a Larger Negative Circle and traced around it to create the second gold circle.

Used a Gold Sharpie Paint Marker and went around the outside edge of the card stock.

Used a Big Shot Texture Plate on a Riding Hood Red panel and then Brayered Riding Hood Ink on it to bring out the design more on the card stock.

Extended the branch to go over to the edge of the main image panel.  Also used a white gel pen to make the dots on the flowers more predominate.

Sponged Basic Black ink around the edge of the Riding Hood Red panel.

Assembled the card and here it is finished measuring 5″ x 6.5″.

I bet you can guess what gave me the inspiration for this card.  My 5 year old Grand Daughter is visiting me this week for her Spring Break so we have been hanging out in the park a lot.  When making this card I found the Stampin’ Up sets Eastern Influences and A Kind Word work perfectly together.  Don’t you think?  Sure puts me in the mood for Spring.

Stamped the Girl image on a 3.5″ x 5″ piece of Whisper White Card stock with Palette Noir Black ink.

Colored the girls hat, dress and flowers with Stampin’ UP markers Creamy Carmel, Blush Blossom & Cameo Coral.

Added Barely Banana marker to her hair.  Colored the swing seat with Creamy Caramel marker.

Colored the bird with Bashful Blue.

Colored her skin with a Pale Peach Prismacolor marker.  This is a great color for skin tones.

Colored the leaves with an Old Olive marker.

Created a shadow on her hat with a Creamy Carmel marker.  I went over this a few times to get it good and dark in this area.

Created a shadow on the bottom of her dress using the Blush Blossom marker.  I went over it a few times to get the color good and dark for the shadow.

Created a shadow on the bottom sides of her arms and legs using the Pale Peach marker.

Colored over the entire image using a Versamark marker.

Heat embossed the image using Fine Detail clear embossing powder and a heat gun.

Now that my image has been heat embossed it will resist the brayered on ink for the background.

Brayered Kiwi Kiss ink at the bottom of the card stock.

Brayered Baja Breeze ink at the top of the card stock.

Brayered Not Quite Navy ink on the top of the card stock, not covering the Baja Breeze ink entirely.

Sponged Night of Navy at the top of the card stock and then on the card stock edges, all the way around.

Stamped the Stampin’ Up Eastern Influences Branch twice with Palette Hybrid Noir Black ink.

Colored the branches in with a Sahara Sand marker.

Used a white gel pen to dot in the flowers on the branches.  Now we are talking Spring.  🙂

Drew in the swing rope to connect to the tree branch using a ruler and a Stampin’ Up Black marker.

Adhered my main image panel to a Whisper White panel and punched a Horizontal Slot on each side of the panel.

Slide my ribbon through and assembled the rest of the card front.  Added Photo corner punches and silver brads.

Here is the complete card measuring 5″ x 6.5″.
