Haunted Cliff – Stampin’ Up! Card

Hello There,

Why is it when I make a scene like this I hold the card out from me and say “Ooww Ha Ha” in an evil voice, lol.   The really weird thing is I’m all by myself, grin.    Oh, I just love the Autumn season.  I could stamp in these colors year around.  But these colors really shine in the Fall.

Today’s project was created using the spooky Stampin’ Up! set, Best of Halloween, love it, of course.

Mountain Reflection – Stampin’ Up! Card

Hello There,

I don’t know about you, but I am always so honored when a friend comes to me and asks me to make a card for someone special in their lives.  My neighbor, did just that.  She needed a sympathy card and one from the store just wouldn’t do so she asked me to create one.  I hope I filled that need with today’s card.

I pulled out the very beautiful Stampin’ Up! Hostess set, Simply Sketched.  Every image in this set is stunning, you can’t go wrong with it.   I wanted the card to have a peaceful feeling to it so I thought about what makes me feel at peace.  That would be water and mountains.  So here you have it, a Zindorf Zin card.

Of course, this card could be for any occasion, just change the sentiment.  That’s the great thing about scenes on a card, multiple uses.  I generally make my cards without sentiments and then add the sentiment inside when I know what I’m going to use it for.  🙂

The supply list along with how you can get the tutorial for this Mountain Reflection card free can be found below.

Toil & Trouble – Stampin’ Up! Card Tutorial #631

Well it won’t be long and my all time favorite season will be here.  I adore everything about Autumn.  The harvest, holidays and especially the colors.
I have always loved Halloween and have such found memories of Trick or Treating.  I never once had a store bought costume.  We made up our own costumes back then.  I was a hobo more than once.  Stick with a bandana tied to the end of it, grunged up jeans and over sized flannel shirt, dad’s old hat and you were in business.  What homemade costumes did you come up with as a kid?  I would love to hear about them.
About today’s project, I’m starting my Halloween projects early this year.   Just because I love to make them and I am so excited to already have the new Stampin’ Up! Halloween stamps in hand.    This project has the new Stampin’ Up! sets, Halloween Bash and Toil & Trouble in them, Oooooooo  very spooky. . . . . .
The complete tutorial for this card can be found below for free.  On a personal note, please help keep this site free by supporting me, a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, by ordering your Stampin’ Up! products online through my online store.  My Family and I greatly appreciate your business, thank you.  It’s with all my heart I wish to continue bringing you these tutorials at no charge.

Now on with today’s tutorial. . . . .  . .
Project Supplies:
Stamps: Stampin’ Up! Toil & Trouble (item 131724 wood or 131727 clear) and Halloween Bash (item 130577 wood or 130580 clear)
Card Stock: Stampin’ Up! Whisper White, Basic Gray, Rich Razzelberry and Basic Black
Ink: Stampin’ Up! Basic Black, Basic Gray, Old Olive Pumpkin Pie, Rich Razzelberry, Elegant Eggplant and Stazon Jet Black
Accessories: Stampin’ Up!  Sponges, Stampin’ Dimensionals (item 104430),  Stampin’ Write Basic Black marker, Neutral Candy Dots (item 130934), Apothecary Accents Framelits (item 127003), Big Shot Machine (item 113439), Big Shot Magnetic Platform (item 130658), Chevron Border Punch (item 132154), 1 3/4″ Circle Punch (item 119850), Brayer (item 102395)
Started with a 4.5″ x 6″ piece of Whisper White card stock.  Punched a 1 3/4″ circle from the sticky part of a post it note and used it as a mask for the moon.
Brayered Pumpkin Pie ink at the top of the card stock.
Brayered Rich Razzelberry ink next.
Brayered Elegant Eggplant ink at the very top of the card stock.
Removed the moon mask and then stamped the sentiment stamp from the Toil & Trouble set using Stazon Jet Black ink.
Sponged Old Olive and then Basic Black at the bottom of the card stock.
Die cut one of the dies from the Apothecary Accents Framelits set using Sahara Sand card stock and the Big Shot Machine.  Note:  I cut two but decided to only use one.
Note:  Only used the one on the left.
Cut the bottom off of the die cut.  Sponged Basic Gray ink and Basic Black ink on the piece.
Stamped the crow on Basic Gray card stock using Stazon Jet Black ink.  Cut the image out.
Cropped the main image panel by taking 1/2″ off of both the right and left sides of the card stock.  It now measures 3.5″ x 6″.
Colored in just the middle of the stamp from the Halloween Bash stamp set using a Basic Black marker and then stamped it on the tombstone.  Popped the tombstone and the bird up on the main image panel using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Ripped the edge off of a 3.5″ wide piece of Basic Black card stock and popped it up at the bottom of the main image panel using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Sponged Basic Black ink around the edges.
Cut a 10″ x 6.5″ piece of Basic Gray card stock and folded it in half (card base).  Also cut a 4.75″ x 6.25″ piece of Basic Black card stock and punched the Chevron Border stamp down the left side of it.  Cut a 6.25″ x 3.75″ piece of Rich Razzelberry card stock.
Stamped the inside of the card base with the sentiment from the Halloween Bash stamp set using Stazon Jet Black ink.
Put the card together and added two Sahara Sand Candy dots.  Here it is finished.  🙂
May your day be spooktacular!
Until my next post. . . . . .
Huge Hugs!

Zoo Review – Stampin’ Up! Tutorial #627

Hey there,

Hope you had a terrific weekend.  Mine was spent doing projects around the house.  Thank goodness for the weekend or nothing ever would get done around here.  Weekend worrier, I am.

I did get one thing done this morning.  I have a new tutorial for you.  This one is using the Stampin’ Up! Zoo Review stamp set and I teamed it up with the Thoughts and Prayer stamp set.  I made my trees taller to be more in line with what I had in mind for my scene.  Simple  trunk extension.  🙂

Check out my tutorial below.

Before I start the tutorial I wanted to give a reminder there is only 3 days left to get your name in the drawing for this round of Mystery Hostess.  See details at the bottom of this post.

Now on with today’s tutorial. . . . .  . .
Project Supplies:
Stamps: Stampin’ Up! Zoo Review (item #122197) and Thoughts & Prayers(item #113252)
Card Stock: Stampin’ Up! Whisper White, Baked Brown Sugar and Early Espresso
Ink: Stampin’ Up! Early Espresso, Baked Brown Sugar, Crushed Curry, So Saffron, Cherry Cobbler, Cajun Craze and Stazon Jet Black
Accessories: Stampin’ Up!  Sponges, Stampin’ Write Markers (So Saffron, Soft Suede, Baked Brown Sugar, Crumb Cake), 1″ square punch, Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, 1/2″ circle punch, Neutrals Candy Dots, Brayer, White Gel Pen

Started with a 3″ x 6.5″ piece of Whisper White card stock and masked it with a 1/2″ circle punched from the sticky part of a post it note.

Brayered Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze and then Cherry Cobbler.

Removed the circle mask and sponged So Saffron ink in the sun.

Sponged Baked Brown Sugar at the bottom of the card stock.

Stamped the Thoughts and Prayers Tree using Old Olive ink (not inking up the bottom 2/3rds of the tree trunk).

Colored over the trunk and bottom branches using Soft Sued ink.  Also extended the trunk down to the ground.

Stamped the tree two more times using Crushed Curry ink (not inking up the bottom 2/3rds of the tree trunk).

Colored the trunks using Baked Brown Sugar marker and darkened the leaves a bit with So Saffron Marker.

Stamped the Giraffe on the main image panel and on a scrap piece of Whisper White card stock using Stazon Jet Black ink.  Sponged Crushed Curry ink to the bottom of the card stock.

Colored the entire Giraffe using So Saffron marker and then colored the dots in with Crumb Cake marker (twice).

Added shading with the Crumb Cake marker (front of neck, back legs and bottom of stomach).

Cut out the giraffe (except for the tail) and adhered it over the giraffe on the main image panel.

Added Crumb Cake and White Gel Pen highlights and shadows to the leaves and branches.

Sponged Early Espresso ink to the bottom of the card stock.

Cut (3) 1″ squares and cut them in half. Added a 8″ x 9″ Soft Baked Sugar Card base (fold card stock in half), 3.75″ Early Espresso panel and 3 1/8″ x 6 5/8″ Soft Baked Sugar panel.  Added triangles to the top and bottom of the Early Espresso panel.

Punched 6 Itty Bitty punches out of Early Espresso card stock and added them along with Crumb Cake Candy Dots to the triangles.

Here is the finished card measuring 4″ x 9″.  This size card takes a #10 size office envelope.

May your day be filled with sunlight and soft breezes.

Until my next post. . . . . .
Huge Hugs!

Sweetest Gift 2 – Stampin’ Up! Card Tutorial #625

Hey There,

Here is card number two using the Stampin’ Up! Sweetest Gift stamp set.  This time I paired it up with the Stampin’ Up! Lovely as a Tree stamp set to create this whimsical scene.  You can check out the full tutorial for this project below.

But, before I start my project I want to say a Big, Huge, Humungous THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to my Incredible Customers and to my super wonderful Stampin’ Up! Down Line.  You see I achieved the Stampin’ Up! Founder’s Circle for the 3rd time this year, WHOOHOOOO!!!

In Stampin’ Up! lingo it means that I am one of the top 100 Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators.   For that Stampin’ Up! will pamper and entertain me on an all expense paid trip to St. George, Utah this September.  I can hardly contain my excitement!

Again, you all ROCK!  Thank you so much for helping me to achieve this honor.  Also, a big thank you to the greatest company ever to work for, STAMPIN’ UP!

Now on with today’s tutorial. . . . .  . .

Project Supplies:

Stamps: Stampin’ Up! Sweetest Gift (item #130583 wood or 130586 clear) and Lovely As A Tree (item #128655 Wood or 127793 Clear)

Card Stock: Stampin’ Up! Whisper White, Brushed Gold and Marina Mist

Ink: Stampin’ Up! Marina Mist, Midnight Muse, Basic Black and Whisper White Craft

Accessories: Stampin’ Up!  Sponges, 2 1/2″ Circle Punch, Brayer, Whisper White ribbon, Vintage Trinkets, Gold Marker, Basic Black and Sahara Sand Stampin’ Write Markers, White Gel Pen, Modern Label Punch

Started with a 3.5″ x 4.5″ piece of Whisper White card stock and brayered Marina Mist at the top of it.

Brayered Midnight Muse ink at the top of the card stock, not covering the Marina Mist ink entirely.

Stamped the stork using Whisper White Craft ink.

Punched a 2.5″ circle from scrap paper and used it as a mask to create my moon.  Sponged Whisper White craft ink in the open circle space.

Added Gold Marker to the edges of the wings, beak and legs of the stork.  Dotted the stork’s eye with a Basic Black marker.

Colored in the stork using a White Gel Pen.

Stamped the Lovely as a Tree stamp using Midnight Muse ink and then lower with Basic Black ink.

Added a shadow on the stork  and bundle using a Sahara Sand marker.  The shadow goes at the edge of the wings, at the bottom of the bird, left side of the head and the left side of the bundle.

Heated the bird and moon with a heat tool to dry them so they don’t smear.

Stamped the sentiment on a scrap of Whisper White card stock and then punched it out using the Modern Label Punch.

Sponged Midnight Muse ink around the edges of the main image panel.

Added a Marina Mist card base, Whisper White and Brushed gold panels, Whisper White ribbon knotted and Vintage Trinkets.

Here is the finished card measuring 4.25″ x 5.5″.

May your day be filled with wonder and surprise.

Until my next post. . . . . .

Huge Hugs!

Now on with today’s tutorial. . . . .  . .

Project Supplies:

Stamps: Stampin’ Up! Kind & Cozy (item #129126)

Card Stock: Stampin’ Up! Whisper White, Soft Sky, Island Indigo and Gingham Garden DSP

Ink: Stampin’ Up! Crushed Curry, Island Indigo, Soft Suede and Cajun Craze

Started by using the 4th to the largest Sizzlet Circle from the Circles Collection and cut out a circle from Whisper White card stock.

Brayered Crushed Curry on the circle.

Masked the sun using a 1″ circle punched from the sticky part of a post it note.

Brayered Cajun Craze at the top of the circle.

Removed the mask and stamped the coffee cup with Island Indigo ink.

Colored the leaves with Pear Pizzazz and flower with Pumpkin Pie.

Masked the top of the circle and sponged Soft Suede ink in on the unmasked area to create a table for the cup to sit on.

Stamped the Gingham circle on Whisper White card stock using Island Indigo ink.  Punched the circle out using a 2.5″ circle punch.

Adhered the main image circle to the middle of the Gingham circle using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Cut a 5″ x 6.5″ Island Indigo panel, 4.75″ x 6.25″ Soft Sky panel and a 4.25″ x 5.75″ Gingham Garden DSP panel.   Sponged Island Indigo ink on the edges of the DSP panel.

Stamped the flowers at the top and bottom of the panel using Crushed Curry ink.

Cut a 3.5″ square out of Island Indigo.  Cut it in half.

Stamped the flowers on the long edges using Island Indigo ink and then sponged the edges using Island Indigo ink.  Also sponged the edges of the Gingham circle.

Die cut the Doilie using the Big Shot Machine and Island Indigo card stock.

Assembled the card, adding a 6.5″ x 10″ card base folded in half, 1/2″ x 5″ Gingham Garden DSP strip and then applied Crystal Effects to the coffee cup to give it some shine and depth.

Here is the finished card measuring 5″ x 6.5″.

May your day be one in a million.

Kind & Cozy 1 – Stampin’ Up! Tutorial #621

Hey There,

I have a little window scene for you today.   I started out by using the super cute Kind & Cozy set, but ended up combining two other sets with it to build this scene.

I was asked the other day how I start a project.  I start my projects by picking a stamp set and then my main image stamp.  I then build a scene around it.   My main image stamp is the coffee cup here.

Another question I’m asked a lot is “do  I  practice my projects before doing a tutorial”?    No, what you see on my tutorials is a step by step break down of my first time making the project.  That’s why you may wonder sometimes, as you are looking at a tutorial, why I did things in the order that I did them.  You are seeing my thought process and sometimes I don’t think to add something when I first start the project, but come up with the idea as I’m building the project.  It’s a crazy kind of mind you are dealing with here, lol.   I just go for it!

Anyhow, I hope you like this project and give it a try.  The step by step tutorial is below.

Now on with today’s tutorial. . . . .  . .

Project Supplies:

Stamps: Stampin’ Up! Kind & Cozy (item #129126), Gorgeous Grunge (item #130517), Thoughts & Prayers (item #113252) and Gingham Wheel (item #130110)

Card Stock: Stampin’ Up! Whisper White, Soft Sky and Early Espresso

Ink: Stampin’ Up! Island Indigo, Soft Sky, Early Espresso, Basic Black, Old Olive, Cajun Craze, Pumpkin Pie, Crushed Curry and Stazon Jet Black

Accessories: Stampin’ Up!  Sponges, Stampin’ Write Markers (Sahara Sand, Old Olive and Pumpkin Pie), 1″ Circle Punch, post it note, Early Espresso Taffeta Ribbon and Brayer

Started with a 3″ x 2.5″ piece of Whisper White card stock and brayered Crushed Curry ink at the top of the card stock.

Punched a partcal circle using a post it note and 1″ circle punch.

Masked the sun.

Brayered Pumpkin Pie ink and then Cajun Craze ink.

Removed the Sun mask.  Sponged Old Olive ink at the bottom of the card stock.

Stamped the Thoughts and Prayers Tree using Stazon Jet Black ink.

Sponged Basic Black ink at the bottom of the card stock and then added a 3.25″ x 2.75″ Whisper White panel.

Cut a 5 1/8″ square piece of Soft Sky card stock.  Rolled the Gingham Wheel across the bottom using Island Indigo ink.

Stamped the Kind & Cozy coffee cup using Early Espresso ink.

Sponge Island Indigo ink around the edges.

Colored the leaves and flower with Old Olive and Pumpkin Pie marker.  Went over the steam lines using the Sahara Sand marker.

Added texture to the wall using the stamp from the Gorgeous Grunge set and Soft Sky ink.

Adhered the window and added a line of Sahara Sand marker below the window and to the right side of the window.  This gives it some depth.

Added Early Espresso Ribbon, Soft Sky panel and Early Espresso panel.  I also added a Whisper White card base.

Here is the finished project measuring 5.5″ square.

May your day be super special.
