Hello There and Happy Friday!

I’m a little bit exhausted this morning.  Had a packed house last night for my Christmas card of the month class.  It was sooo much fun and everyone is happy to be getting their Christmas cards done and me too!

Hello there,

How can you not smile when you see a sunrise.  A new day beginning is such a wonderful thing.  I’m sharing my version of a sunrise with you today.

Not only is this a new day for our family but, our new grand daughter will be born today!  So a new life to celebrate as well.  I can hardly contain my excitement.

You’re a Star – Stampin’ Up! Card

Hello There,

This is such an exciting week for me and my family.  First off, I am picking my Grand Daughter, Hailie Jade up from the airport this evening.  She will be staying the summer with us, whoohoo!  Secondly, Thursday, our second Grand Daughter, Aubree Lynn will come into the world.  How much more can a person ask for, right?  Please keep Jamie in your thoughts this week and wish her an easy delivery and Aubree Lynn a healthy beginning.

With all this about to happen I am on cloud nine, so why not a card that looks to the heavens.  I broke open a new Stampin’ Up! set Pictogram Punches for my main images and sentiment.  Added a dreamy sky and the Striped Scallop die cut for an accent.  Fun right?

Tap Tap Tap Note – Stampin’ Up! Card

Hello There,

Boy of Boy, I had so much fun creating the background for today’s project.  I love layering color and images to get that unique look.  I used the brand new Stampin’ Up! sets Tap Tap Tap and Larger Than Life Alphabet.

On another note, I’m going to go chill in my easy chair and shell peas that were picked fresh from my garden this morning.  This is a morning ritual until the pea plants stop producing.  I like to blanch and then freeze them to have for meals later on in the year, that is if they don’t immediately go to the dinner table tonight.  Mmmm, fresh peas in butter with a little salt or plain on a salad.  You can’t beat it!

Weathered Lobster – Stampin’ Up! Card

Hello There,

Who do you give a lobster card to?   How about giving this card to someone that loves seafood and tuck a gift card in it to a local seafood restaurant.   Great way to make your gift a bit more personal and tie your gift in with the card.  I love that. . . . .

I used a couple of embossing folders to create lots of texture and to help with the weathered look.

I canned my first veggies of the season yesterday.  I canned beets in a sweet cinnamon, allspice and clove brine, yum!

I like beets, I’m just not in love with them, but sweet beets I can embrace with my full heart.

Are  you a beet fan?

It’s funny how I have changed over the years, my gardens were perennial flower gardens, but they are now all veggie gardens.  I came to the conclusion if I’m going to spend all that time outside weeding and watering I might as well be growing something good to feed my family.  Flowers are beautiful but they don’t help the grocery budget or give me the satisfaction I feel when I put home grown food on the table.  🙂

Lately, we have been enjoying fresh strawberries, peas, kale, beets, spinach and lettuce.  I’m growing a lot more varieties of veggies now but they are not producing yet.

I now have 5 garden spaces to tend and I’m dreaming of putting more in this Fall, it’s a sickness.  Russ tells me “go ahead it’s less I have to mow.”  Yep, that’s why I’m doing it, not.

May you feel the warmth of the sun today too.  I’m  off to the garden.

BLENDABILITIES UPDATE: The Stampin’ Up! Blendabilities Markers will not be available for customer purchase on June 2 when the catalog begins.  Stampin’ Up! expects to have enough inventory to meet customer demand at the end of June or early July.  I’ll keep you posted on a date.
