Pumpkin Patch – Stampin’ Up! Card

Hello there,

Guess what?  Today is my birthday and I am spending it doing what I love best, stamping!  I’m playing with a new set that will be released tomorrow when the new Stampin’ Up! Now about today’s project, the stamp set I used is the new Halloween Scares, item #142229.  Love these images.  I used them for an Autumn card.  I love purples and oranges together for Autumn.

This card fits into a #10 size business envelope.  🙂

A little tip, sometimes there is not room to have a lot of card stock layers.  I like to sponge the edges of my main image panel by scraping the sponge against the edge with a dark color.  I use this technique to replace a layer.  Makes your card more cost effective too.

Hello there,

Are you loving the new Stampin’ Up! holiday products from the Holiday Catalog as much as I am?  I swear, the catalog has something for everyone.  For me it has everything!

I purchased the Joyful Season stamp set, item #139770 with the intention of using it to create Christmas/Winter Cards, but when it arrived I decided to give it a whirl with a more Autumn flavor in today’s project.  I’m also looking down the road with this stamp set and can envision this cardinal gracing the front of a Spring card as well.  In other words I will be putting some mileage on this puppy!    It’s so good to stretch that imagination and think outside of the box it makes our stamps all the more valuable.

Today’s card would be awesome as a birthday, thinking of you or even a Thanksgiving card if you put a “grateful for you” sentiment on it.  🙂

I think this cardinal has a smile on his face as he is soaking up that sunshine, don’t you?

Wet Leaf – Stampin’ Up! Card

Hello there,

Today’s card was inspired by my walk out to the chicken coop this morning.  It has been raining for days so a lot of the newly fallen leaves from out trees  are wet and they are now stuck to our wood deck.

I tried to recreate that look.  I hope you like it and that it inspires you to get inky today.

On another note. . . . .  .

Our grand daughter, Hailie Jade is staying with us this week.  I like to do as much with her as I can during her visits.  My bright idea was to carve a pumpkin with her.  She was excited right up to the part of the project where she had to clean out the stuff from the inside of the pumpkin.

I’ve never seen a child gag while doing this, but gag she did and all while laughing.  Believe me, Russ and I were cracking up as well.

As you see she survived the terror of pumpkin carving and ended up with this cute cat pumpkin.  🙂

Hello there,

I’ve been so wrapped up in creating my Christmas cards I almost forgot it was Autumn.   Autumn is my most favorite time of the year.  I love the colors, smell of the dried fallen leaves and the cool crisp weather.  Now I said cool weather, not cold.  “Did you hear that Mother Nature!”

Living were I do in Ohio farm country I get to enjoy watching the farmer’s harvest their fields.  It’s such a joyful time, the roadside stands are just bursting with every size, shape and color of pumpkins you could ever dream of.  Don’t forget the apple cider they sell,  mmmmm!

So I guess you know now why I was inspired to create today’s card and tutorial.  I hope you are inspired to give this project a try.

Hello There,

Well, so far this month I have tackled a Halloween card and Christmas card.  It’s only fair that I give the Thanksgiving Holiday it’s turn.  It was easy using some new Stamp sets from the Holiday Catalog.

I want you to know, as I was creating this card of thanks I was thinking just how very fortune it I am to have you, my friend.  Thank you so much for taking the time to read my ramblings and for choosing me as your Stampin’ Up!
