Hello there,

It’s been a few days since I have gotten to stamp and I was having serious withdrawal!  This morning I just had to take the time and get my stamping therapy before I called the doctor and asked for anxiety meds, lol.  I’m totally kidding about needing the medication but stamping does have a relaxing effect on me.  I can just tune out the world when I am creating something.  Do you find that to be the case when you are stamping?

Anyway, the brand new Fabulous Flamingo stamp set was just what I needed to use today to get my creative release.  It has some wonderful elements in it that are just perfect for my style of stamping.

Hello there,

I just love pen and ink drawings.  Their simplicity is no fuss elegance.  Today’s card project is my take on a pen and ink drawing using two just released stamp sets, Crafting Forever and Colorful Seasons.  They are certainly fun sets to combine.  I also added some texture with a distressing technique.

Adding the bright pops of two of the new In-colors (Lemon Lime Twist and Berry Burst) gives this card a cheery air.

Don’t you think today’s card project looks like an old time sepia photo?  I love this warm look and it was easy to achieve using some of the wonderful ink colors from Stampin’ Up!  They really do work great together and they are colors I reach for almost daily in my stamping.

Hello there,

Some of my favorite cards are creations that have silhouette images.  The images can be so striking against a bright sky and also these projects can be so quick to make, BONUS!

Before I headed to my craft room, I was having my morning tea out on the deck watching the hummingbirds come to the feeders when one of the little birds decided to fly up to my face and just look at me.  I had the feeling it was saying thank you for the food but at the same time I was wondering if I was going to lose an eye it was so close to my face, lol.  When it flew away I knew what the main image of my card scene would be today. Do you also get inspired by things you see or what is happening around you?  It’s so nice to put it down on a card or scrapbook page and makes your projects that much more meaningful.

Faux Patina Best Bird

Hello there,

I upped the Wow factor on today’s card by adding a handmade glitzy faux patina accent panel.  The faux patina technique is one that you will want to do again and again, it’s stunning in person, plus you can make the faux patina piece any colors so you want and they will perfectly match  your project.  I love the way that patina panel stands up to the reflection scene and doesn’t wither away.

Flamingo Tile – Stampin’ Up! Card

Hello there,

I love the look of hand painted tiles and decided to incorporate that look into today’s project with a tile technique.  The tile technique adds so much interest to the background and really makes that flamingo pop while keeping the background soft and serene.
