Hello there,

I hope you are enjoying your long holiday weekend.  I’m spending just a little time stamping today.  This project comes together pretty quick and it shows how versatile the brand new Halloween Scenes Edgeless Die Tree can be.

Hello there,

If you know me, you know I cannot resist a stamp set that has an interesting tree.  The brand new Halloween Scares stamp set not only has an interesting tree it has some super Halloween images that are perfect for scene cards.  It’s a real winner and one that I will be using a lot for the Autumn season.

About today’s project, leaving light areas in your scenes is very important.  I left light in the sky and water in this one.

Pumpkin Patch – Stampin’ Up! Card

Hello there,

Guess what?  Today is my birthday and I am spending it doing what I love best, stamping!  I’m playing with a new set that will be released tomorrow when the new Stampin’ Up! Now about today’s project, the stamp set I used is the new Halloween Scares, item #142229.  Love these images.  I used them for an Autumn card.  I love purples and oranges together for Autumn.

This card fits into a #10 size business envelope.  🙂

A little tip, sometimes there is not room to have a lot of card stock layers.  I like to sponge the edges of my main image panel by scraping the sponge against the edge with a dark color.  I use this technique to replace a layer.  Makes your card more cost effective too.

Leaves Bathed in Light – Stampin’ Up! Card

Hello there,

Light coming through leaves are for some reason calming and comforting.  It’s a wonderful image to have on a Sympathy card.  I created this branch of leaves using the Stampin’ Up! Vintage Leaves stamp set (item 138802).  I used some simple coloring techniques in order to make the leaves look more realistic.

On Another Note. . . . .

This Summer has been a wacky kind of busy 3 months.  My garden has done really well and therefore, I have been super busy putting up all of the fruits of my labor.
Here are a few photos of what I have been up to. . . . . .

My peach trees are too small to get much fruit from so I picked up some really good peaches from a road side stand and canned peaches, peach salsa, peach jam and started some peach wine.

I grew corn for the first time this year.  🙂

I’m still canning pasta sauce, tomatoes and salsa and will be until the tomato plants give up for the summer.

Fresh basil made up a lot of wonderful pesto for the freezer.

I snuck in some canning of chicken broth one day when the canner was sitting still at a rare moment from the veggies.

Bumper crop of green beens, so many that I canned up all we could possibly eat and then started giving them away.  Candied Jalapeños too, mmm.
There is really not very many days that I don’t have my canner going so there is so much more that I have canned up this season that I didn’t take photos of.  Needless to say it has been a terrific garden season!

Also I’ve been playing mommy to 1o new baby chicks.  Sadie thinks they make for great kitty tv.  🙂
So please forgive me if I haven’t shared much about what has been happening around here lately,  like I said, it has been a crazy kind of busy Summer.  Now back to the garden. . .

Hello there,

Today’s project showcases how braying ink at an angle for the background creates a nice soft light to shine down on an object.  I used that light effect to really make the images from the Awesomely Artistic Stamp Set stand out.

Let us “Fiesta like their is no Mañana.”  Oh, how I love that sentiment!  Who doesn’t want to party like there is no tomorrow on their birthday.

I used the Birthday Fiesta stamp set along with the coordinating Fiesta Time Dies to create today’s card project.  🙂  You definitely want to use some bright colors to give that party atmosphere with this one.
