Hello there,

To say I love the brayer is an understatement.  You can achieve some very pretty scenes using it.  Today I used the brayer to create this sun lite water scene.  I used some bright colors but off set them with some nice cool colors to not lose the serene feeling.  I hope you like it and that it inspires you to get out those stamps today.

Hello there,

I’m so excited to have such a wide variety of new stamping supplies from the new  Stampin’ Up! Occasion catalog to use.  As always, I lost my mind and purchased almost everything in it.  But, you want to see it used right? So that is why I had to, lol.  That’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it.

I mean how could I not buy the In The Meadow stamp set I used today.  Holy cow!  I love these images.

In today’s tutorial I’ll show you how to get a nice warm brown on the deer by layering color and how to layer objects in your scene to get depth.  🙂

Shimmering Path – Stampin’ Up! Card

Hello there,

It’s so frustrating when you add shimmer to a project and then it doesn’t show up in the pictures you take, good grief Charlie Brown!  So, I’m asking you to use your imagination a bit today.  The moon and the path are both aglow with shimmer because I used the Clear, Wink of Stella Brush on the path and moon.  Be sure to add this to your list when placing your order from the new Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalog that will go live on January 5th.  It’s a must have!

I love the scene without the shimmer as well, but when you add it, it’s magical in real life and that brush is so easy to use.  Your shimmer goes right were you want it without messy glues etc.  LOVE IT!

Purple Mountains – Stampin’ Up! Card

Good morning!

I’m happily stamping away in my office this morning.  It’s cold and pouring rain outside and I could really careless since I can get lost in my stamping and can create a scene with no rain at all in it.  They sky is really gray here but not in today’s card.  I decided to put in a nice bright sky behind these purple mountains.

Boy oh boy have I gotten use out of this Stampin’ Up! Wonderland stamp set.  The pine tree stamp in this set is my go to tree stamp now.

Here are some samples of a few other cards I’ve made with this set over the last couple of months.  One thing about a pine tree image is that you can use it in every season since it doesn’t change much in appearance throughout the year.

Like I said, the trees in the Wonderland stamp set are at the top on my favorites list.  🙂

Hello there,

A lot of times I am inspired by landscapes I see, people I know or in this case a friend, Lydia Fiedler’s two furry friends.  These two cats, I’m sure never get to go outside but I put them out there anyway in the snow which they never get to see in Austin, TX.  I think they need to visit me in Ohio so they can really do this.  🙂  What do you say Lydia?

Dramatic Panels Winter Scene – Stampin’ Up! Card

Hello there,

Today’s project shows how you can add a bit more interest to a scene by cutting it up into panels.  It can be a little bit scary when you take the paper cutter to it but when you put it on a contrasting panel it all comes together again only with a lot more interest.  I left all the embellishments off of this card to let the scene really steal the show.  The background I created really pops against that black.

Hello there,

I love the Joyful Season stamp set, item 139770.

It’s very easy to focus on the beautiful two step cardinal in this set, but in today’s project I focused on one of the branches instead to make this Winter scene that can be used for quite a few occasions though out the cold months.  🙂

I hope this card inspires you to get inky today, you will feel better for it.

Hello there,

I have my Christmas tree up, decorated, and all of my Christmas shopping is complete.  I feel like I’m a little ahead of the game this year.  My dear friend Claire told me it’s not a good thing to have my shopping done so early because I will end up spending more because I will keep adding on gifts, I think she is probably right?  How are your holidays shaping up?

I’m still in the process of making my Christmas cards as you see.  Today’s card is all about the Christmas Tree.  I hope this project inspires you and you are able to get some good stamping time in this weekend.  🙂
