Hello there,

I’m playing around with the Lovely as a Tree stamp set this evening.  One thing I love to do with this stamp set is to use the tree tops as bushes in the background to add some depth to the scene.  Add the big pine image in front to create some layering of images and that also adds depth.  I kept the layout simple to be more masculine. 🙂

Brighter Days to Come – Stampin’ Up! Card

Hello there,

OMG!  If you haven’t picked up the Beautiful You Stamp Set from the Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalog, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR!  Seriously, it has to be the most popular stamp set in the catalog and for good reason.  The lovely images and sentiments cover such a big range of occasions, which stretches your crafting dollar.

 I choose to put a bright sky in my scene today to show the feeling of hope and brighter days coming.  If you were to put a darker sky in you would get a whole different feeling for sure.  I teamed up Cucumber Crush and Delightful Dijon ink and paper today.  What a combo.  Remember those are two of the colors that will retire this year so be sure to stock up on the ink, card stock and markers in these colors.  As it gets closer and closer to the new catalog being released retiring items will start selling out and will not be returning.  I know, so sad!

I love creating depth with layers of color in my handmade background and then again in my images.  By creating depth in your scenes you can achieve a scene where you feel like you can just step over to it and pick a flower.

Fresh Fruit – Stampin’ Up! Card

Mmmmm, strawberries!   I have a small strawberry patch and fresh strawberries are something I look forward to every Spring.  So, making this card this morning is making my mouth water for that taste fruit.  Nothing like picking warm berries and popping them in your mouth right there in the garden.

The strawberry image is just one of the two step fruits you will find in the Stampin’ Up! Fresh Fruit stamp set.   This multi step stamp set makes it so easy to stamp tasty looking fruit for your cards.  Strawberries for Spring, Peaches for Summer and Pears for Autumn.  Great value to have a stamp set that will take you through 3 seasons.

A Little Buzz – Stampin’ Up! Card

Happy Monday!

I know, we usually don’t look forward to Mondays so I decided to stamp a cheerful little scene today to cheer us up.  Bright blue sky and orange flowers, doesn’t get much more cheerful than that.  🙂

The flower image and bumble bee image are from the beautiful Dragonfly Dreams Stamp set from Stampin’ Up!

 I love these two step stamp sets. So very easy to have colorful images with out the fussy coloring.  🙂

Block Technique Flower Field – Stampin’ Up! Card

Hello there,

I’m wrapping February’s tutorial package up with a fun project.  An acrylic block was the tool I used to get this impressionistic look to my scene’s background.  It’s amazing how fast the scene came together.  I hope you are inspired to get inky and give it a try.
