Hanging Your Stocking – Stampin’ Up! Card

Hello there,

I’m using the Stampin’ Up! Hang Your Stocking Stamp Set and Die Bundle today. They sure make for a wonderful Christmas card, especially teamed up with the Brick Wall Embossing Folder. I layered different colors of ink on the Brick Wall to give it a more realistic look. I really love the way it turned out.

On another Note.. . . .

After a super busy Summer gardening and canning things are starting to slow down. Yesterday I started putting my garden beds to rest for the Winter which involves clearing, adding a big layer of compost, shredded leaves and straw on them to help feed the soil so they will be ready to go again next Spring.

I put these 3 beds in this past Summer, now I have 6 garden beds. I was able to can almost 500 jars of food over the Summer. Makes me tired just thinking about it, lol.

I still have lettuce, spinach, green onions and kale growing, but everything else is finish for the season.

We grow fruit ourselves and also get some really wonderful local fruit from nearby road stands. One way I use it is to make homemade wine. It was time to bottle up some Cherry Wine, Peach Wine and Concord Grape Wine I had started 2 months ago. Now for the hard part, waiting until next Summer to get to drink it. 🙂

I believe I need to go put my feet up a while and start making my garden plan for next year.

Winter Night Reflection – Stampin’ Up! Card

Hello there,

I’ve got a peaceful Winter scene for you today. I just love reflection scenes, with only a little more effort you get a much better scene. A scene you just want to walk into and one you will be proud to send to one of your favorite people.

Here is a tip, when I went to put the card layout together I wanted a piece of Designer Series Paper in the mix but, I didn’t have one that matched in color so the easy solution was to brayer color on a piece of DSP to make it match. Now it is perfect.

Hello there,

I put Northern Lights in the sky of this Winter scene and combined that great sky with the Greetings from Santa Stamp Set images. The Designer Series paper from the Stampin’ Up! Moroccan Paper Pack reminds me of a heavy sweater print and goes perfectly with the scene. This card has a masculine flair and we all know how hard it is to come up with those masculine cards.

Woodland Christmas – Stampin’ Up! Card

Fa la la la, la la la What to early?

Is it ever to early to start those Christmas cards. Surely, you don’t want to wait until the mad rush of the holidays? I know I want to give you plenty of holiday cards samples to inspire you so, I’m continuing to play with and enjoy all of the holiday products from Stampin’ Up!

Today’s project background was created using the Woodland Embossing Folder, 139673. This embossing folder in it’s holiday debut flew off of the shelf. Stampin’ Up! had thought they would retire the embossing folder after the holiday catalog ended last year but, do to popular demand, they instead put it in the annual catalog. This made me and many of you, oh so very happy!

I put the color behind the trees by applying the color directly to the embossing folder. This technique is so much fun and really makes those trees POP!
