Autumn Friend – Stampin’ Up! Card

Hello there,

As I was making today’s project I found myself re-inking every ink pad before I used it.  I don’t add a lot of re-inker to each pad just about 10 drops.  This is the perfect amount for my liking.  I really dislike an over inked pad, but I really don’t like a dry one.

I’m asked often, “how do you get your scenes to look so vibrant?”  Re-inking my ink pads often is the answer.  My number one ink rule is never purchase an ink pad without purchasing the re-inker to go with it.

Also, don’t be afraid to be quite heavy with sponging or brayering.  Keep in mind your projects will dry at least 2 shades lighter.  Nothing worse than your project looking faded out after it dries completely.  So, go forth and re-ink my friends.  🙂

Hello there,

It’s been a while since I stamped a collage style card.  They are super fun because I can get messy and pull together stamp sets that I normally wouldn’t.  I’m always surprised with how things turn out.  Believe me it is never ends up how I had envisioned when starting, but I’m always pleased with the results.

New stamp set time!  I’m breaking out the new Stampin’ Up! set “The Wilderness Awaits”.  Hello, this set is soooo gorgeous!

My inky fingers are just itching to create something with each and everyone of the stamps in the set.  I call the images in this set “fine line images” and that is the type of image I like to work with the most.  You can get some real WOW scenes going with them.

Hello there,

Do you love the beach?  I always say I love the beach, but truth be told I love to look at the beach.  I don’t like the feel of sand stuck to me or how it is hard to walk in sand.  I certainly don’t like to get in the ocean, there is stuff swimming around in there!  I really love to sit in a lounge chair, in the shade, sipping a drink while I look at the beach and listen to the waves.  Yep, that’s how I love the beach. . . . . .but next to that I love to stamp  beach things, lol.

In today’s project I’ve introduced a new color to my palate, Tip Top Taupe.  It’s one of the new In-colors that will be out in the All New Stampin’ Up! Annual catalog that starts June 2nd.  Believe me you will want this color!

I have a long card for you today.  I remember when I was young all the funny cards in the stores where this size, 4″ x 9″.   This one fits in a standard #10 size office envelope.  🙂

The Direct to Paper Technique is a great technique to have in your scene making arsenal.  It is quick, fun and every piece you make with direct to paper will be unique.  How exciting is that!

Hello there,

The new Stampin’ Up! set Guy Greetings has such fun images for those hard to make manly cards.

The images reminds me of the old days when you would buy fish and chips and get the news printed tissue paper under your fish.  🙂  I’m dating myself now, lol.

With this project I wanted to recreate that newsprint feel with just a little splash of Soft Sky.  I like the look of this stamp set teamed up with the Calling All Heroes set, it kinda has a retro feel as well.
