I got this fun idea to use circles and ovals to make silhouette people this morning.  Sometimes you just have to play.  It’s how you grow.    I found my little people looking cute sitting in front of my handmade sunset.  I used the Stampin’ Up! Floral Phases stamp set to give it even more of a romantic feel.

Today’s creation was super fun to put together using the Hometown Greetings Edgelits Dies along with the stamp set Lovely As a Tree to get lots of depth in my scene.  This only happens when you can layer objects and they work perfectly together.  🙂

I added in a die cut sentiment from the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits set too, perfect!

Green Trees – Stampin’ Up! Card

Green Trees

Hello there,

I LOVE TREES!!!!  Yes, I’m a tree hugger. 🙂  I love nature and growing things, so quite a few of my stamped creations have trees, flowers etc. in them.  What are you drawn to in your creations?

I also love the fact nature scenes can be used for so many different occasions.

Today’s scene looks a bit like watercolor since I used the Stampin’ Up Sheltering Tree stamp set and soft hues but there is no watercoloring in this project.  I used simple stamping techniques, so fun!

Spring Bike – Stampin’ Up! Card

Spring Bike

Hello there,

Are you ready for Spring?  Holy Cow, am I ever!  I’m ready to be outside doing yard work, breaking ground for my veggie garden and yes, biking.

Today’s project reflects how I’m feeling today.  I used some cool toned pastel colors along with the rich color of Fresh Fig to give this card the Spring feeling.  I also created the soft background panel for this scene.  It made me happy.  I hope it inspires you to get inky today too.

Beach Lover – Stampin’ Up! Card

Hello there,

I love the look of painted wooden signs and I thought I would create a card today which has that feel.  The lettering on this card  looks like it is die cut but it is not.  I used a shadowing technique to make the letters appear raised.

Got Colored Pencils – Stampin’ Up! Card

Got Colored Pencils

Hello there,

Do you have colored pencils?  It is probably hard to find a paper crafter who doesn’t at least have a set of Crayola Colored Pencils.  Today I used a Paint Thinner and color pencil technique to color in my stamped images from the Stampin’ Up! set Remarkable You on Basic Black paper.  This is  such a simple and great technique which gives beautiful results.  This technique has been around for a really long time and I keep forgetting about it.  So many techniques so little time, lol.

I hope my card has inspired you to get your colored pencils out.
