Happy Saturday!  Gotta love the weekend.  I wish I was one of those people that could sleep in but, my internal clock alarm always goes off around 4:00 am.  I’m for sure a morning person.  I can usually get in a half a days work before most people wake on the weekend, which is a good thing because then I get the play around the rest of the day.  🙂

Today I used the fun Stampin’ Up! Set White Christmas to create this dramatic Winter scene.  The shadows in the snow add so much, don’t you think?

Golden – Stampin’ Up! Card

Hello There,

Do you keep non occasion specific cards on hand?  I love this type of card.  It sure has gotten me out of some rough spots when you need a card for someone for some strange reason that isn’t covered by the regular occasion categories.  Today’s project fits in to this group.

I really wish you could see this card in person.  The  gold embossing really shines and the camera does not do it justice.  I did a little playing with light and dark areas on the main image panel to give it that molted look.

I hope this card inspires you to get inky today.

You’re a Star – Stampin’ Up! Card

Hello There,

This is such an exciting week for me and my family.  First off, I am picking my Grand Daughter, Hailie Jade up from the airport this evening.  She will be staying the summer with us, whoohoo!  Secondly, Thursday, our second Grand Daughter, Aubree Lynn will come into the world.  How much more can a person ask for, right?  Please keep Jamie in your thoughts this week and wish her an easy delivery and Aubree Lynn a healthy beginning.

With all this about to happen I am on cloud nine, so why not a card that looks to the heavens.  I broke open a new Stampin’ Up! set Pictogram Punches for my main images and sentiment.  Added a dreamy sky and the Striped Scallop die cut for an accent.  Fun right?

Simply Sketched Sympathy – Stampin’ Up! Card

Hello There,
Do you stock pile sympathy cards?  I find that I like to make my sympathy cards as I need them.  They are such a very personal thing to send so I like to customize them for the recipient.  Does that make sense?  I know we can do that for any card, such as birthday etc. but, I don’t feel as strongly about it as I do with sympathy cards.
While I’m on my soap box regarding sympathy cards, we should all be conveying our feelings of sympathy by mailing a card, not posting to facebook, sending an e-mail etc.  In these days of technology we have lost that true personal connection with each other that a physical card makes.  Don’t you agree?
I have a dear friend who lost her husband this week and my heart is breaking for her, I cannot even imagine sending my feelings of sympathy via facebook or e-mail to her, enough said.
Today’s card was created using the stunning stamp image from the Stampin’ Up! Hostess set Simply Sketched.     Put that image in front of a mountain in a meadow and you have such a tranquil scene.  The sentiments in this set have such a beautiful font also.

Birds In Spring – Stampin’ Up! Card

Hello There,
We have red bellied Robins all over the yard today looking for those juicy worms they so love.  You know it’s Spring when you see the Robins here in Ohio because they leave for the Winter each year so, it’s definitely a happy sight to see them once again.  Yeah Spring!!
The return of the Robins inspired me to create a bird card.  These are not robins, in fact I’m not sure what kind of bird I created, I just choose some colors that I thought would be exciting and would really pop on my card.  Let’s just say they are Zindorf birds, lol.
I also used a flower stamp from the new Stampin’ Up! stamp set Peaceful Petals (133107) in an unexpected way.  I turned it upside down and created vines with it to give a nice floral background for my two punched birds.
The more ways you can find to use a stamp the better value you get out of your them.

Rabbit in the Field – Stampin’ Up! Card

Hello there,

I live in a rural community with lots and lots of farm land surrounding us.  I love to look out my window and see the fresh plowed fields that have been newly planted and the hint of Spring Green growth popping up.  That really means Spring to me.

I tried to capture that feeling with today’s card.  I hope it gives you a feeling of renewal as it has done for me to create it.
