In this tutorial I used the Blossom Petals Builder Punch to create my trees.  Hang out here a moment and check it out.

Masked the very bottom of a 3.25″ x 5″ piece of Whisper White card stock using a Post it Note that has the edge torn off of it.

Brayered Baja Breeze ink at the top of the card stock.

Masked the moon using a 1 1/4″ circle punched from a Post it note.

Brayered Island Indigo ink at the top of the card stock, not covering the Baja Breeze ink entirely.

Brayered Night of Navy ink at the top of the card stock, not covering the Island Indigo ink entirely.

Brayered Sahara Sand ink at the bottom of the sky area.

Punched the Blossom Petals Builder Punch twice from Whisper White card stock.  Used a few of the petals and adhered them to the card stock.

Stamped the tree trunks from the Trendy Tree Stamp set using Chocolate Chip ink and a Stamp-a-ma-jig for placement.

There may be a slight gap in the tree trunk where you are stamping over multiple layers of card stock.  Filled the gap in with a Chocolate Chip marker.

Added Baja Breeze ink for the shadow in the tree and below the tree using an Aqua Painter.  I pushed the ink pad lid into the ink pad by squeezing it when it is closed in order to get a pool of ink in the ink pad lid in which to use.  Clear as mud?

Added 3 Chocolate Chip panels and 1 Baja Breeze panel, 2 Whisper White Doily Triple Layer punches, Mini Silver Brads and Baja Breeze seam binding.

Here is the finished card measuring 5″ x 6.5″.

May your dreams be full of wonderful ideas.

Until my next post. . . . . .

Gently Falling – Tutorial #452

Hey All,

Are you ready for Autumn?  I think I am.   I find myself eyeing those sweaters in the dresser.   I’m always glad to get them out.  There is something comforting about them.   Sweaters are like old friends, don’t you think?    But, some of you are still in sweltering hot weather.  You will be the people rubbing it in when we are trudging through snow in the  winter, lol.   Here in Ohio, we are starting to see a bit of yellow in those green leaves on the trees.  Our maples will be bright yellow, orange and red in no time.   Leaf peeping season is not to far away, grin. . . .

I think you can tell by my creation today Autumn is on my mind and the new Stampin’ Up! set “Gently Falling” made quick work of  this card.   You can find this set in the Stampin’ Up! Holiday Mini Catalog (CLICK HERE TO VIEW IT).      Hang out and see how this card was put together.

Announcement before I get started:

Cut a large Circle out of Whisper White card stock the Clear Circle die and the Big Shot Machine.

Brayered Tempting Turquoise ink at the top of the card stock.

Brayered Soft Suede ink at the bottom of the card stock.

Stamped the Always Thankful stamp using Jet Black StazOn ink.

Masked the top of the card stock using a post it note and sponged Soft Suede ink at the post it note edge to create a field line.

Keep moving the post it note mask down a bit and sponge to create the rest of the field lines.

Colored the pumpkins in using a More Mustard marker.

Colored the squash and corn in using a Daffodil Delight marker.

Colored the bottom of the pumpkins in using a Pumpkin Pie Marker.

Colored the leaves and stems in using an Old Olive marker.

Colored in the wheel using Sahara Sand marker.

Colored the wood handles in using a Crumb Cake Marker.

Added White Gel Pen to the flowers and Silver Gel pen to the center of the wheel.

Colored the Wheel Barrel in using a Real Red marker.  Added Cherry Cobbler marker to the bottom of the wheel barrel.

Added Cajun Craze marker to the very bottoms of the pumpkins.

Added Chocolate Chip marker to the bottom of the wood rails, the wheel barrel and the ground.

Using the Spritzer and a Chocolate Chip marker, added speckles to the ground area.

Inked up the Fancy Fan Letterpress with Cherry Cobbler ink and put a 4.75″ x 6.25″ piece of Cherry Cobbler card stock on top of it.  You can run this through the Big Shot Machine, but I wanted it to be a little lighter in color so I just used my Brayer and rolled over the back side of the card stock to transfer the color onto it.

Assembled the card by adding a 5″ x 6.5″ piece of Soft Suede card stock, Whisper White Ribbon, silver brads and Jumbo Grommet.

Here is the finished card measuring 5″ x 6.5″

Stamped the Always Thankful image using Basic Black ink.

Colored the wheat More Mustard marker the jug Pumpkin Pie marker.

Brayrered Night of Navy ink at the top of the card stock.

Stamped the Stampin’ Up! Sail Away stamp using Night of Navy ink.

Colored the sails in with Marina Mist marker.   Added Pacific Point marker to the darker areas of the sails and the actual boat.

Darkened the edge of the sale and bottom of the boat with a Night of Navy marker.  Colored over the sails with the Marina Mist marker to blend the colors.

Quickly dried the card stock using my heat gun.

Punched a circle from a post it note using a 1 3/4″ circle punch.  Used the post it note as a mask.

Sponged Whisper White ink in the circle to create my moon.  Sponged the ink darker at the top of the moon.

Removed the mask and added Basic Black ink to the right edges of the sails, bottom of the boat  and the flag.

Ripped a jagged edge in a post it note and used it to create the waves in the water.   Sponged Whisper White ink at the post it note edge.  Moved the post it note and repeated a few times.

Stamped the polar bear from the Stampin’ Up! set Zoo Review on a 3.75″ x 5.25″ piece of Whisper White card stock by first loading my stamp with Versamark and then with Basic Black ink before stamping it.  Note:   you can use Basic Black Craft ink for this step also.

Heat embossed the image using clear embossing powder and a heat gun.

Added River Rock marker to the shadow areas of the bear.

Colored over the bear with a Versamark marker and then heat embossed the image using clear embossing powder and a heat gun.  Note:   Your image should be glassy looking.

Ripped a couple of post it notes and used them to mask my snow area.

Brayered So Saffron ink at an angle at the bottom of the unmasked area.

Brayered Pumpkin Pie ink at an angle, not covering the So Saffron ink entirely.

Using a paper towel, gently wiped the ink off of my embossed bear.  Note:   This should be done after each color that you brayer on.

Brayered Marina Mist ink at the top of the card stock at an angle.

Brayered Pacific Point ink at an angle at the top of the card stock, not covering the Marina Mist ink entirely.

Brayered Night of Navy ink at the top left hand corner at an angle.

Removed the snow masks and ripped a couple of clear post it notes and masked my first hills in the snow.

Sponged Marina Mist ink at the post it note edges.

Removed the post it note masks and added a new straight edged mask to cover the bear.  Sponged Marina Mist ink at the post it note edge to create a shadow for the bear.

Removed the mask, reused the ripped post it note mask to create some hills at the bottom of the card stock.  Sponged Marina mist ink at the post it note edges.

Stamped the flourish from the Stampin’ Up! set Season of Joy a couple of times using Marina Mist ink.  Wiped the ink off of the bear using a paper towel.

Stamped some snowflakes from the Stampin’ Up! set Serene Snowflakes using Whisper White ink.   Note:  be sure that your sky is completely dry before stamping the snowflakes or the White ink will take on the sky colors.

Added White Gel pen to the flourishs and snowflakes to give them more depth.

Punched a Note Quite Navy Decorative Label and cut it in half.

Added the Decorative label halfs, a Pumkin Pie Panel, Marina Mist Panel, Not Quite Navy panel and 4 silver brads.

Here is the finished card measuring 5″ x 6.5″.

May your day be totally Kool.

Until my next post. . . .  .

Brayered Crumb Cake ink at the bottom of a 3.5″ x 4.5″ piece of Whisper White card stock.

Brayered Tempting Turquoise ink at the top of the card stock.

Brayered Not Quite Navy at the top of the card stock, not covering the Tempting Turquoise ink entirely.

Masked the sky area with a post it note and sponged Not Quite Navy ink at the post it note edge.

Stamped the pole using Soft Suede ink.

Stamped the umbrella top on a scrap piece of Whisper White card stock using Real Red ink.

Cut out the image and adhered it to the main image panel using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Mask over the umbrella with a post it note and sponge Crumb Cake ink below the umbrella to create a shadow.

Ripped a hill in the post it note and sponged Crumb Cake ink in the hill shape to create a mound of sand.

Using the edge of a post it note at a slant on the card stock, made white gel pen dashes along the post it note edge to create the rain.  Kept moving the post it note until I had rain all the way across the card stock.

Ripped a cloud shape in a post it note and put it at the top of the card stock.  Sponged Sahara Sand ink in the cloud shape.

Added Basic Black ink right at the post it note edge.

Removed the mask and sponged Whisper White ink over the cloud to tone it down a bit.

Added a crumb Cake panel and Real Red panel.  Wanted to keep this lay out clean and simple.  Here is the finished card that measures 5″ x 6.5″.

May your day be more cheerful than this.  🙂

Sponge River Rock ink in the middle of a 4″ square piece of Whisper White card stock.

Sponged Sahara Sand ink around the outside of the River Rock ink.

Sponged Baja Breeze ink around the edges of the card stock.

Stamped the leaf from the Stampin’ Up! set Summer Solstice using River Rock ink.

Stamped the Butterfly from the Stampin’ Up! set Summer Solstice using Basic Black ink.

Drew to lines using a Chocolate Chip marker.  These will be the branches for the leaves.

Stamped the leaves so the stems met the branchs using Soft Suede ink.

Colored in the butterfly using a Bashful Blue marker.

Added Pacific Point marker to the wings.

Blended the two colors together by coloring over them using the Bashful Blue marker again.

Added a bit of Not Quite Navy marker to the edges of the wings.

Colored the leaves in using a River Rock marker.

Added Baja Breeze marker to the leaves.

Colored over the leaves again using the River Rock marker to blend.

Cut a 4 7/8″ x 6.4″ Baja Breeze card stock, a 3″ x 4.75″ piece of Designer Series Paper (ripped on the right side), sponged Pacific Point ink on the edges of the panels and main image panel.

Added Pacific Point marker to the leaves.

Stamped one of the butterflies on River Rock card stock, twice using a Basic Black marker to load the image.

I wanted the middle of the butterflies to be lighter so I colored in the middles using a White Gel pen and then colored over the white gel pen using the Bashful Blue marker.

Punched out the butterflies using a 3/4″ x 15/16″ oval punch.  Sponged Pacific Point ink around the edges of each.

Using the Crop-o-dile, added gold eyes.

Tied the tags onto the twine ends and then popped up the tags using Stampin’ Demensionals.

Added a strip of Not Quite Navy card stock to the right hand side of the card and pierced holes in the strip using the Stampin’ Up! mat pack and piercing tool.
