Floating in the Water – Stampin’ Up! Card

I’m using the beautiful, Remarkable You stamp set this morning.   So many big, bold, wonderful flowers in this set to choose from that won’t get lost in your scene.

I picked this flower because it looks like a water lily to me and that is just where I put it, in the water.  I also gave it a reflection for realism.  To add a bit of charm, I used the Curvy Corner Trio Punch on the corners of the main image panel and the Rose Red panel behind it.  Those two punches look great together.

Anyhow, you end up with a beautiful creation to send to someone special.  I hope you are inspired to get some stamping time in today.  🙂  It really is good therapy for the soul.

Hello there,

A lot of times I am inspired by landscapes I see, people I know or in this case a friend, Lydia Fiedler’s two furry friends.  These two cats, I’m sure never get to go outside but I put them out there anyway in the snow which they never get to see in Austin, TX.  I think they need to visit me in Ohio so they can really do this.  🙂  What do you say Lydia?

Dramatic Panels Winter Scene – Stampin’ Up! Card

Hello there,

Today’s project shows how you can add a bit more interest to a scene by cutting it up into panels.  It can be a little bit scary when you take the paper cutter to it but when you put it on a contrasting panel it all comes together again only with a lot more interest.  I left all the embellishments off of this card to let the scene really steal the show.  The background I created really pops against that black.

I love the Joyful Season stamp set, item 139770.

It’s very easy to focus on the beautiful two step cardinal in this set, but in today’s project I focused on one of the branches instead to make this Winter scene that can be used for quite a few occasions though out the cold months.  🙂

I have my Christmas tree up, decorated, and all of my Christmas shopping is complete.  I feel like I’m a little ahead of the game this year.  My dear friend Claire told me it’s not a good thing to have my shopping done so early because I will end up spending more because I will keep adding on gifts, I think she is probably right?  How are your holidays shaping up?

I had so much fun putting today’s project together.  I just love layering the Sleigh Ride Edgelits Dies and while doing that the lightbulb went off in my head and I decided to make it an ornament.  The Delicate Ornaments Thinlits Dies made super quick and easy work of that process.  Added a homemade woodgrain background and there you have it my last project for November.

Good morning,

I have a lot going on in today’s card.  First, I used a color combo that is very rich looking but not your traditional Christmas colors.  Secondly, I used color to create shadows to give the appearance of torn paper in the middle of my main image panel.  Thirdly, I created the textured look at the bottom of the main image panel using beautiful purples.  This card is a finished size of 4″ x 9″ which fits perfect in a #10 sized business envelopes.
