Today’s card is all about depth.  Layering objects gives you that effect and really brings that bird from the Best Birds Stamp Set into the foreground where it is front and center.

I created a dreamy background sky for this project using the Salted Technique.  Caution!  this technique is very addictive and super easy!

Also, don’t forget a pop of red (Cherry Cobbler) in your card making, it screams Christmas don’t you think.

I upped the Wow factor on today’s card by adding a handmade glitzy faux patina accent panel.  The faux patina technique is one that you will want to do again and again, it’s stunning in person, plus you can make the faux patina piece any colors so you want and they will perfectly match  your project.  I love the way that patina panel stands up to the reflection scene and doesn’t wither away.

Best Bird at Night – Stampin’ Up! Card

Hello there,

I have a confession to make, it may sound very strange, but my favorite stamp from the Stampin’ Up! catalog is the flourish I used in the sky in today’s project from the Stampin’ Up! set Star of Light, item #142110.  That stamp is just magical to me and makes every scene it is used in magical too.  It’s a must have stamp set.  I have used that stamp with so many different stamp sets.  Today I combined it with the beautiful images from the Best Birds set.  🙂

Tip:  When coloring birds add a little unexpected color and then repeat it in the card stock layers.  This really pulls the project together.

Hello there,

Oh my!  There is a brand new, must have, bird stamp set.  The Best Birds stamp set has some wonderful images with lots of sentiments that will cover lots of occasions.

It has a coordinating die set, Birds and Blooms Thinlits as well!  I’m looking forward to using some of those dies as silhouettes, can’t wait!  If you decide you too cannot wait to get your hands on these, be sure to bundle the two for savings, with item # 142315.

Now about today’s project, I decided to make my bird a bit of a different color with the yellow and green hues.  To keep it pleasing to the eye I repeated the same colors in the leaves.  Tip:  By repeating colors throughout your scene it helps from letting the colors get two busy, which can be unappealing.  🙂
