Hello there,

Today I wanted to create a card that had the beautiful snowflake from the Holly Jolly Greetings Stamp Set, item #139882 right up front in my scene.  Added some trees and wind in the background and I created depth in the scene that really made those snowflakes come to life.  🙂

Grateful Cardinal – Stampin’ Up! Card

Hello there,

Today I combine a few terrific stamp sets to create this Fallish cardinal card.  It’s easy to get hung up using only the stamps that come in a set but it is so fun to look outside that set and into our stash of stamps to pull different elements into your scene.  The sets I choose today work beautifully together, don’t you think?

On another note, the sentiment on this card could easily be changed to create a sympathy, birthday or a thank you card.  🙂   Oh how I love multi purpose cards like this!

Fox in Winter Wonderland – Stampin’ Up! Card

Hello there,

Thanks for being patient while I took a break from blogging in order to relax and have fun at the Stampin’ Up! Founder’s Circle Retreat. I just returned home last night.  The trip as usual was amazing, but I’m always happy to be back home in my office stamping my heart out.

Today’s card is a take on my Founder’s Circle Swap. This one is a little bit stepped up from my swap card.  I needed to make 110 swap cards so I left off a few things to make it a reasonable swap card that didn’t take me weeks to finish.

Have you checked out the Sleigh Ride Edgeless Die, item #139670 yet?  That is what I used to created the diecut layer of snow and trees, super easy and very duplicatable.  Just right for making lots of Christmas cards that say Wow!Screen Shot 2015-09-21 at 12.27.53 PM

I teamed up the diecut with another great item from the Holiday Catalog, the Jingle All the Way stamp set, item #139907.

This stamp set has lots of images to add to your snowy scenes, like the fox, which gives this scene a bit of a pop! 🙂

I hope your Labor Day weekend has been a great one.  I’m spending my holiday today canning applesauce made from some terrific apples I picked up at an Apple Orchard on our weekend trip up to Ohio’s Amish Country.

Autumn Friend – Stampin’ Up! Card

Hello there,

As I was making today’s project I found myself re-inking every ink pad before I used it.  I don’t add a lot of re-inker to each pad just about 10 drops.  This is the perfect amount for my liking.  I really dislike an over inked pad, but I really don’t like a dry one.

I’m asked often, “how do you get your scenes to look so vibrant?”  Re-inking my ink pads often is the answer.  My number one ink rule is never purchase an ink pad without purchasing the re-inker to go with it.

Also, don’t be afraid to be quite heavy with sponging or brayering.  Keep in mind your projects will dry at least 2 shades lighter.  Nothing worse than your project looking faded out after it dries completely.  So, go forth and re-ink my friends.  🙂

Leaf images are not just for the Autumn Season.  We tend to forget about our leaf stamps through Spring and Summer.  Today’s project shows just how great the leaves in the Stampin’ Up! Vintage Leaves stamp set are  used outside of the Autumn Season.

Today’s tutorial will show you how to layer those leaf images with the embossed embossed technique.  I think you will be surprised how this comes together.  🙂

On June 2nd the new 2015-16 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog will go live.  There are a couple of ways to get a hard copy of the new catalog.

1.  You can wait until June 2nd and put it on a Stampin’ Up! order with item number 140893 for $5, but it will take a little while for it to reach you.

2.  You can order it directly from me, the catalog is free but the shipping is $6.25.  It will come to you express mail from me and should only take a few days.  To order it from me, please click the “Buy Now” button.

It’s always sad to say goodbye to great stamps and accessories but we’re saying goodbye to retiring products from the 2014-2015 annual catalog, before we do, we’re giving everyone an opportunity to order their favorites with discounts up to 50 percent off retail.
