I used the fox from the Stampin’ Up! “The Wilderness Awaits” stamp set as my main image for todays card.  Wouldn’t it be nice to make one of these for each of your foxy friends?  I think they would love it!

Sky with a Swirl – Stampin’ Up! Card

Hello there,

My card scene today has a lot of depth to it and a fun little sky with a faint swirl in it.  The swirl can be made more prominent by using darker colors.  I wanted mine to fade out towards the horizon so I kept my colors pretty soft.

I created the swirls by masking with a new diecut from the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits Dies Set, Item 141497.

I also used the plastic Wrap technique in the sky area.  I love the broken up look that it gives and it’s really hard to make a mistake with the technique.

I love using stamps in a bit of an unexpected way, like today I used the flowering vine from the Thoughts & Prayers Stamp Set as flowering tree branches.  I used it over a dramatic late night sky and framed it with a window.  I love the brick embossed panel to ground the window.  🙂

Hello there,

I broke out a brand new set of stamps today, Stampin’ Up’s You’ve Got This.  I wanted to show in today’s project how to layer images, light image in front of dark image.  The main image panel is one piece in this project, not any cut out images.

Sympathy cards are one card that I don’t stock pile.  I create my sympathy cards as I need them.  I like to have the person in mind while creating it.  There is just one problem with that, how do you keep the card stock dry?

This card was created with a very heavy heart.  A friend and fellow stamper, Nancy Parks passed away suddenly this week.

Nancy and her daughter Kari come to my card classes here at my house often.  Watching mother and daughter laughing and enjoying each others company while creating was pure joy.

Nancy we will miss you. . . .

Please help me by keeping the Parks Family in your thoughts and prayers as they morn Nancy’s passing.

Hello there,

How many stamping tools do you have that have been put into boxes or drawers and forgotten although you loved them dearly when you bought them?  I looked around this evening to see what I could use that I hadn’t in a while and I came across my piercing tools.  Wow, I use to use my piercing tools constantly and I don’t know why I quit.  Simply piercing around a panel is such a great effect.
