Spring into Spring – Stampin’ Up! Card

Hello Stampers,

Sometimes I find I get into a bit of a rut and cannot, for the life of me, figure out which stamp set I would like to use.  So, many great stamps!  When this happens I play a bit of a game with myself, I take out my Stampin’ Up! catalog, flip it open quickly and use the stamps on that page.  I had to laugh when I did this today and found myself staring at Christmas stamps, lol.

I love a challenge so, I used the Winter Woods stamp set, item 147661 and the Dashing Deer coordinating dies, Detailed Deer Thinlits, item 147915 to create this Spring card.  My little game paid off today with a card I am super happy with and I got additional use out of my Christmas Holiday products.

I have a wonderful Winter Anniversary card for you today.  I love this image of the couple from the Stampin’ Up Silhouette Scenes stamp set.  I put them in a Winter scene this time with the snow gently falling by combining the image with the Stampin’ Up! Winter Woods Stamp set.

This is a large format card 4″ x 9″ which fits in a standard #10 business sized envelope.

Hello Stampers,

I cannot resist creating a Christmas Card each year featuring a big pine tree.  The Christmas tree has been such a tradition with my family and the holidays.  Just thinking about it takes me back to holiday dinners at my Grandmother’s house.  Her tree and entire house was and decorated from Thanksgiving until after New Years.  What a great tree she had.  You could just tell she put each ornament on the tree with a lot of thought and love, it was perfect.  So, here is a card to Christmas past, present and the future.  It was a joy to create using the Stampin’ Up! Winter Woods stamp set, 147661.  Hopefully it will stir up wonderful memories to the recipient as well and maybe you as well.

I don’t know about you, but I get tunnel vision with the my creating sometimes during the Winter and only focus on holiday cards.  Well today I decided to make a card that can be used for other occasions, thinking of you, sympathy, etc.  We need these types of cards also.  I used the Winter Woods stamp set to make this peaceful scene.

I kept the background layers neutral so the sky would really pop.  It’s the star of the show for this scene.

Gray Autumn Day – Stampin’ Up! Card

Hello Stampers,

DSC_0030  Today’s card features the bare midriff card layout.    This is an excellent layout to feature a background scene on the inside of your card for your main image panel.     This helps give the card interest and depth.

I thought about doing this scene with the color Real Red instead of Pumpkin Pie, but it’s Autumn, right.  🙂  I’m happy I made that decision and it shows this layout and scene can be used for every season just by changing up the colors.

Have you fallen in love with the Buffalo Check Background stamp like I have?

This stamp certainly is a solution to getting the perfect colors to compliment your scenes, instead of Designer Series Paper.

Check out today’s creation, I used the emboss resist technique  to layer my images and get some depth in the scene.  I LOVE AUTUMN!  I kept the colors cool to convey a crisp Autumn Evening  day.  I hope you are inspired to get inky today!  So many stamps so little time!

Autumn Woods – Stampin’ Up! Card

Autumn Woods

Hello Stampers,

It’s that time of year to start thinking about Autumn and the cards we will need during the season.  I for one always look forward to making Autumn cards because I so love the color palette.

One of the first things you will notice about the card is it’s size, 4″ x 9″.  This is a Wow! card size which fits in a #10 sized business envelope.  The #10 size envelopes can be purchased just about any where, I got mine at Wal-mart.

I used the tree stamp from the  new Stampin’ Up! Winter Woods stamp set for today’s Autumn card.  You can’t name a set with trees in it Winter Woods and not challenge me to use it other seasons.  I love it for Autumn as well.  I can just envision it for Spring and Summer too.

You may have spotted in my project today an embossed piece using a super wonderful Embossing Folder Tin Tile. Please help me!   I know I’m going to want to use this embossing folder in every card.  Here is a great video featuring the Tin Tile embossing folder.  Your going to want this!
