I have another cat card for you today.  This one is a bit more involved than my last post, grin.  This one was more fun for me.  I love to make a scene in more ways than one, lol.  By layering the images in this scene it gave it quite a bit of depth.

Punched a 2.5″ circle from a post it note and used it to mask my moon by putting it on a 3.5″ x 4.5″ piece of Whisper White card stock.

Brayer Tempting Turquoise ink at the top left corner of the card stock at an angle.

Brayered Perfect Plum in and then Elegant Eggplant ink at an angle on the bottom right corner of the card stock.

Stamped the Season of Friendship tree using Basic Black ink.

Stamp a few Season of Friendship Leaves using Cajun Craze ink.

On a scrap piece of Whisper White card stock, stamp the Jack of All Trades Pumpkin by loading the stamp with More Mustard ink and then patted the Cajun Craze ink pad on the stamp so the left side of the image comes out shadowed.  Note:  you will put the Cajun Craze ink on the left side of the stamp to have it come out on the right side of the image.  Clear as mud?  LOL

Stamp the Jack of All Trades face on the pumpkin using Basic Black ink.

Cut the pumpkin out and then cut a piece off of the top.  Keep the small piece you cut off.

Stamp the “C” is for Cat, cat using Basic Black ink 1″ from othe bottom of the card stock.

Color in the cat’s eye and collar in with a White Gel Pen.

Added a 4″ x 5.5″ Basic Black panel.  Take a 4″ wide piece of Old Olive card stock and rip the top of it and then adhere it to the card stock so that it comes up to the bottom of the tree.

Adhere the pumpkin on.

Added a 4″ wide piece of Basic Black card stock that has been ripped on the top edge.  Have it come past the bottom of the pumpkin a little bit.

Added the pumpkin lid.

Stamp the stem on top of the lid using Basic Black ink.

Stamp the vine using Old Olive ink and then color it in using Old Olive marker.  Add a bit more shadow to the lid’s bottom, pumpkin’ s right side and bottom and to the bottom of the leaves using Cajun Craze marker.  Also add a bit of Cajun Craze marker to the sides of the cat and have it met the pumpkin edge.

Add White Gel pen highlights to the leaves, Pumpkin rim, Pumpkin’s mouth, lid stem and vine.

Added a 5″ x 6.5″ Basic Black panel, 4.75″ x 6.25″ Perfect Plum Panel and two 1″ Basic Black square punches.

Here is the finished card measuring 5″ x 6.5″.

May your day be filled with fun surprises.

Until my next post. . . . .

Hugs,

Michelle

Stamped the polar bear from the Stampin’ Up! set Zoo Review on a 3.75″ x 5.25″ piece of Whisper White card stock by first loading my stamp with Versamark and then with Basic Black ink before stamping it.  Note:   you can use Basic Black Craft ink for this step also.

Heat embossed the image using clear embossing powder and a heat gun.

Added River Rock marker to the shadow areas of the bear.

Colored over the bear with a Versamark marker and then heat embossed the image using clear embossing powder and a heat gun.  Note:   Your image should be glassy looking.

Ripped a couple of post it notes and used them to mask my snow area.

Brayered So Saffron ink at an angle at the bottom of the unmasked area.

Brayered Pumpkin Pie ink at an angle, not covering the So Saffron ink entirely.

Using a paper towel, gently wiped the ink off of my embossed bear.  Note:   This should be done after each color that you brayer on.

Brayered Marina Mist ink at the top of the card stock at an angle.

Brayered Pacific Point ink at an angle at the top of the card stock, not covering the Marina Mist ink entirely.

Brayered Night of Navy ink at the top left hand corner at an angle.

Removed the snow masks and ripped a couple of clear post it notes and masked my first hills in the snow.

Sponged Marina Mist ink at the post it note edges.

Removed the post it note masks and added a new straight edged mask to cover the bear.  Sponged Marina Mist ink at the post it note edge to create a shadow for the bear.

Removed the mask, reused the ripped post it note mask to create some hills at the bottom of the card stock.  Sponged Marina mist ink at the post it note edges.

Stamped the flourish from the Stampin’ Up! set Season of Joy a couple of times using Marina Mist ink.  Wiped the ink off of the bear using a paper towel.

Stamped some snowflakes from the Stampin’ Up! set Serene Snowflakes using Whisper White ink.   Note:  be sure that your sky is completely dry before stamping the snowflakes or the White ink will take on the sky colors.

Added White Gel pen to the flourishs and snowflakes to give them more depth.

Punched a Note Quite Navy Decorative Label and cut it in half.

Added the Decorative label halfs, a Pumkin Pie Panel, Marina Mist Panel, Not Quite Navy panel and 4 silver brads.

Here is the finished card measuring 5″ x 6.5″.

May your day be totally Kool.

Until my next post. . . .  .

Hugs,

Michelle

Artsy Victorian Sneak Peek – Tutorial

dsc04463.JPG

I wanted to show in my tutorial today how you can use just one stamp and make something that is beautiful and dramatic.  Of course, it helps to start with a beautiful image.  This one is a Sneak Peek image from Innovative Stamp Creations soon to be released Stamp Sheet “Artsy Victorian”.  This set with be release on June 13, 2008.  Here is a link to their online store:  http://www.innovativestampcreations.com/ischomepage.html

Let’s get going on the tutorial.  🙂

Supplies:

Stamps: Innovative Stamp Creations – Artsy Victorian
Paper: Stampin’ UP Whisper White, Orchid Opulence & Basic Black
Ink: Stampin’ Up Basic Black, Orchid Opulence, Tempting Turquoise & Elegant Eggplant, Adirondack Purple Twilight
Accessories: Versamark pad and marker, clear embossing powder, Sponge, Stamp-a-ma-jig

dsc04466.JPG

Stamped flourish, at a diagonal,  on Whisper White card stock by first loading the stamp with Versamark then Tempting Turquoise before stamping.   Heat embossed the image using clear embossing powder and a heat gun.

dsc04451.JPG

I cropped the card stock at this point so the image would go all the way to the top and bottom of the card stock.

dsc04452.JPG

Colored the white card stock where it was showing through the  image with a Versamark marker and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder and a heat gun.  This step is necessary to retain the white in the image.

dsc04453.JPG

dsc04454.JPG

Using a Stamp-A-Ma-Jig for placement, over stamped the image with Purple Twilight ink just left of the original image to create a shadow.

dsc04455.JPG

dsc04456.JPG

Sponged Orchid Opulence in a circular motion all over the card stock.

dsc04457.JPG

Sponged Purple Twilight ink to the left side of the flourish using a circular motion.

dsc04458.JPG

Sponged Elegant Eggplant ink on the left side of the card stock, not completely covering the Purple Twilight ink.

dsc04459.JPG

Getting darker yet, sponged black ink at the left corners of the card stock.

Assembled card and here it is finished measuring 5.25″ x 5.25″.

dsc04463.JPG

Thanks so much for joining me today for this tutorial.  Give it a try.  I think you will be happy with the results.

Hope your day is on the light side of life. 🙂

Until my next post.. . . . . . .
