Hello There,

I have so many ideas flowing through this mind of mine after browsing the stamps and accessories from the Stampin’ Up! Holiday Happiness Catalog.  I wonder if I will ever get all of them down on paper before the Winter Holidays arrive.

One idea was to use one of the Festive Flurry Framelits (132193) as a frame for a Winter scene.  Check, I got that idea done this morning.   I’m feeling pretty good that I was able to pair that idea up with a Winter scene using the Stampin’ Up! Wetlands (126695 wood or 126697 clear).

Hello There and Happy Friday!

I’m pretty sure I shouldn’t wish my life away, but I just love getting to the weekend, don’t you?

This morning I got up and opened a new Stampin’ Up! order that had been here for a couple of days, but I hadn’t got around to opening it yet.  What’s up with that!  Probably the fact that I don’t have enough time in my day to do all that is before me.  Oh well. . . .

When I did open the box the very first thing I saw was this Stampin’ Up! Monstermaniacs image and it just made me grin from ear to ear.  All of the images in the set are so stinking cute!

I’m not usually a cartoon fan when it comes to stamping, but hello!  I just could not resist these guys.

So guess what, I used one of them in today’s project.  How fun to be able to give this card to a young person.  Bet it brings a smile to someone’s face.

Welcome – Stampin’ Up! Card

Hello There,

Ah, it’s Monday again.  I have to say I worked harder over the weekend than I generally do during the week.   We’ve been doing the dreaded task of cleaning out the garage and shed, yuck!  Where does all the junk come from?  I swear it breeds in the shed and then moves into the garage.  Kind of like dust bunnies, but only in a much larger scale.  Goodwill will be very glad to see me today when I drop off a van load of donations.

Anyway, I’m so glad to be in my cozy office this morning happily stamping away.  I created this Welcome card that can be used to treat a guest (put it on their pillow) or for a new neighbor.  I’m sure anyone would be glad to get a welcome card.  I know I love getting cards.  It just makes my day to get one in the mail.  Note to self, send out many, many more cards.  🙂  Are you guilty of hording your creations?

I hope you are having a fabulous Weekend.  We are having some pretty fantastic Autumn days here in Ohio.  Low 80’s and all sunshine, love it!

However, I pulled myself away from the great outdoors in order to put this wreath together that was inspired by a wreath done by the very talented Jill Olsen.  There is no sewing and no gluing involved.  Don’t you love hearing that?  If you can stick a straight pin in, you can put this wreath together.

My wreath is now proudly hanging on an inside door.

Chicks have graduated to the big girl coop.  🙂

So it’s always a scary thing to add new chicks to an existing flock.  There is a pecking order that must be established pronto.  This is done by, you guessed it, pecking.  The babies are now 7 weeks old and it was time yesterday.  So late Tuesday night I snuck the chicks into the big girls coop and put them on the roost.  They all woke together on Wednesday morning.  I’m sure the big girls looks around and wondered when the new girls moved in, lol.
They were all let out into the chicken run together where there was a bit of pecking from the big girls but no blood was drawn.  This is acceptable behavior.  I was all ready to remove a chicken or chick if things got out of hand, but it didn’t.  Largely because I created plenty of distraction by putting new stuff in the run and gave the chicks plenty of hiding places that the big girls could not follow them into.
One of the distractions was the bales of hay, almost instantly the big girls climbed on them and spent some time pulling some of the hay from the bales.  In the mean time the chicks got to check out the entire run.
I created two feeding stations so the chicks would not be without food if the big girls decided to chase them away from one.
I put one side of the little chick run up on blocks so the chicks could easily scamper under the side if they were being chased.  The big girls look so big compared to the chicks.  The chicks are keeping and eye on big Buffy here.
Last night I did have to put the chicks in the coop.  They haven’t learned yet where to go for the night.  They will catch on quickly, I’ve no doubt.  If you haven’t raised chickens you probably don’t know this, chickens put themselves in the coop at dusk and you just need to lock up the coop at night so predators can’t get to them.
I’m so looking forward to the increase in eggs a few months from now.  It will make all this worth while.
