I started to create a monotone card using the lovely brown inks I have but, at the end decided to add a couple of pops of color which really gave this card a bit of whimsy. I think it worked. 🙂 I love when a project evolves into something unexpected.

Today I did a stepped up card using the emboss resist technique to get my light images to show up over a dark background. Such a great effect. Also in my tutorial today I will show you how to use the tree image to make the tree roots, awesome right!

Hello there,

I’ve been working out in the yard lately trying to get caught up on mulching and planting for the season now the weather has finally turned to sun filled Spring days here in Ohio. So, as usual I tend to stamp something associated with what is happening currently in my life so here you have it, a floral scene.

In this project I used the dark black silhouetted flowers and butterfly to really make my sky pop. I love this look.

Seriously, it has to be the most popular stamp set in the catalog and for good reason. The lovely images and sentiments cover such a big range of occasions, which stretches your crafting dollar.

Beautiful You Clear-Mount Stamp Set – 143637

I choose to put a bright sky in my scene today to show the feeling of hope and brighter days coming. If you were to put a darker sky in you would get a whole different feeling for sure. I teamed up Cucumber Crush and Delightful Dijon ink and paper today. What a combo. Remember those are two of the colors that will retire this year so be sure to stock up on the ink, card stock and markers in these colors. As it gets closer and closer to the new catalog being released retiring items will start selling out and will not be returning. I know, so sad!
