Introducing Photopolymer by Stampin’ Up!

Always wanted to be a graphic designer?  My favorite part about design is typography. I adore type. There’s just something inherently beautiful about letterforms and what happens when you stack them to create different shapes and combine them to say different things.  So without further adieu, let me introduce you to the Designer Typeset Stamp Set. It’s based around a really great san serif font that will work well on just about any project. And then there are embellishments and shapes to take whatever you want to say to the next level. The possibilities are seriously endless.

I’ll admit, once you start playing around with the stamp set, you will have a hard time stopping!

But before we get too carried away, let’s get to talking about the benefits of photopolymer stamps. For those who are unfamiliar, let me point out a couple of things that are really cool.

First, they’re completely clear, making it oh-so-easy to stamp exactly where you want. They come unmounted, on an acetate sheet, and temporarily adhere to our clear blocks. Awesome!

Second, they are pliable. Want your arrow to shoot a certain way? No problem! Want your banner to have the perfect sag? Easy peasy! Being able to play with the shape gives you even more creative freedom.

So let’s get down to the nitty gritty. The Designer Typeset Stamp Sets in the online store starting now. So just click HERE to order yours today!

Accessories: Stampin’ Up! Sponge, postage stamp punch, Soft Suede and More Mustard Markers, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Big Shot Machine and Fancy Fan and Argyle Embossing Folders

On a 4.5″ x 2.5″ piece of Whisper White card stock I drug the Marina Mist ink pad directly across the card stock (Direct To Paper or DTP Technique).

Drug the So Saffron ink pad across the bottom of the card stock.

Butterfly & Vine – Stampin’ Up! Card Tutorial #583

Hey There,

I’ve got a card tutorial today for a card that can be used for many occasions.   Think Sympathy, birthday, thinking of you.  You get the picture.

If you follow my blog than you have probably realized I seldom put a sentiment on my cards.  I don’t like to limit their use until I know exactly what occasion I am going to use if for and then I put a sentiment on the inside.

This tutorial shows how brayering at an angle gives you a great light effect in your scene.  Add the Butterfly from the Stampin’ Up! Nature Walk set and Flowers from the Stampin’ Up! set Flowering Flourishes and your sure to have a winning creation.

Check out the tutorial for this card below.

Now on with today’s tutorial. . . . .  . .

Project Supplies:

Stamps: Stampin’ Up!  Flowering Flourishes (item #126367) and Nature Walk (item #121997)

Card Stock: Stampin’ Up! Whisper White, Cajun Craze, Not Quite Navy and Old Olive

Ink: Stampin’ Up! Old Olive, Not Quite Navy, Tempting Turquoise and StazOn Jet Black

Accessories: Stampin’ Up! sponge, Always Artichoke Seam Binding, Argyle Embossing Folder, Top Note Die, Big Shot Machine, Brayer, Markers (Certainly Celery, Cajun Craze, Pumpkin Pie, Always Artichoke and Bashful Blue) and White Gel Pen

Started with a 3.5″ x 4.25″ piece of Whisper White card stock and brayered Tempting Turquoise ink at an angle off of the top right corner.

Stamped the flourish from the Stampin’ Up! set Flowering Flourishes (item #126367) using Old Olive ink three times.

Colored the flowers in with a Pumpkin Pie marker and then added Cajun Craze marker at the base of each flower.

Stamped the Butterfly from the Stampin’ Up! Nature Walk set (item number 121997) using StazOn Jet Black ink.  Try to stamp the Butterflies’ feet so they touch the flower.

Colored the Butterfly in with Bashful Blue ink and darkened some of the Basic Black lines using a Basic Black marker.

Colored in the dots on the wings using a White Gel Pen.  This really makes them pop.

Added a shadow to the underside of the flourishes using an Always Artichoke marker.

Added Certainly Celery Marker to the middle of the large leaves.

Sponged Not Quite Navy ink in the top right corner and then sponged it around the edges of the main image panel.

Die cut a Top Note Die out of Not Quite Navy card stock using the Big Shot Machine.

Cut the die cut in half and stamped the flourished twice using Not Quite Navy ink.

Sponged Not Quite Navy ink at the bottom of the top note.

Cut a 4.25 x 5.75″ piece of Old Olive card stock and embossed it using the Argle Embossing folder and the Big Shot Machine.

Added the top not to the bottom of the Old Olive panel and cut the sides off of the Top note so they are even with the Old Olive panel.

Added 2 Cajun Craze Panels, 1 Not Quite Navy panel and Always Artichoke Seam Binding.  Popped the main image panel and Cajun Craze panel underneith it up using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Also added a Whisper White card base.

Here is the finished card measuring 5″ x 6.5″.

May your day be filled with all those you love.

Chocolate Cupcake – Stampin’ Up! Card Tutorial #582

Hello There,

Happy Monday!

My mind must be on Chocolate today.  I’ve been dieting so no doubt, lol.

Today’s tutorial background looks like a big chocolate bar and it was created by layering chocolate colored squares.   The main image panel was created using the emboss resist technique.  I sure which you could see the shine on the cupcake.  It just didn’t show up in the pictures.

You can check out the complete tutorial below.

I’m off to take my beloved dog, Lucas to the vet.  I do believe he has an ear infection since he is shaking his head throughout the day.  Poor pup.

Emboss, Emboss Inspired Mountain – Stampin’ Up! Card Tutorial #579

Hello There,

Today’s tutorial is inspired by an beautiful painting by Michael Timmons titled Floral Cochineal.   What first drew me to his painting was the colors and then the layers of flourishes he used.  It inspired me so very much that I instantly wanted to sit down and see if I could create something very similar using my Stampin’ Up! products.   So here it is.  What do you think?

I titled this piece Emboss, Emboss Inspired Mountain because there is a lot of embossing in this project.  Did you know you can emboss over embossing. That’s right and the second embossing ends up behind the first.  It’s a fun technique.  One thing to know before you start a scene like this is to start with your forground and work towards your background.  Check out the complete tutorial below.

Accessories: Stampin’ Up! sponges, Versamark Pad, Piercing Tools, Exacto knife, glass mat, Framelits – Labels Collection, Big Shot Machine, Clear embossing powder and a heat gun

Started by die cutting a Whisper White piece using the second to the largest Framelit from the Labels Collection.   Also cut the Largest one out of Old Olive card stock.

Stamped the flourish from the Flowering Flourishes set by loading my stamp with Versamark and then Cajun Craze ink before stamping it.

Heat embossed the image using clear embossing powder and a heat gun.

Stamp the stamp from the Tiny Tags set by loading with Versamark and then Old Olive ink before stamping it each time down the right side of the card stock.

Heat embossed the images using clear embossing powder and a heat gun.

Cut mountain mask out of a scrap piece of card stock using a class mat and an Exacto Knife.

Used the bottom part of the mask on the bottom of the card stock and then stamped another flourish from the Flowering Flourishes set by loading the stamp with Versamark and More Mustard ink before stamping it.  I only wanted this image to be in the sky.

Heat embossed the image using clear embossing powder and a heat gun.

Sponged More Mustard ink in the sky.

Sponged Pumpkin Pike ink in the sky.

Sponged Cajun Craze ink in the sky.

Sponged Cherry Cobbler ink in the sky.

Removed the mask and gently wiped the ink off of the embossed images.

Masked the top of the card stock and stamped the stamp from the Tiny Tags set all over the large hill by loading my stamp with Versamark and Old Olive ink before stamping it each time.

Embossed the images using clear embossing powder and a heat gun.

Sponged Cherry Cobbler ink over the bottom of the card stock.

Sponged Early Espresso ink at the top of the hill and then sponged Basic Black ink along the masked edge to darken the outline.

Removed the mask and gently wiped the ink from the embossed images using a paper towel.

Added a Modern Label Punched from Early Espresso ink.  Cut this punch in half.

Also added a 6.5″ x 10″ Whisper White card stock base folded in half, 5″ x 6.5″ Old Olive panel, 4.75″ x 6.25″ Cherry Cobbler Panel, 4.25″ x 5″ Early Espresso panel, and the Old Olive die cut.

Pierced seven holes at the top and bottom of each side of the Cherry Cobbler panel using piercing tools.

Here is the finished card measuring 5″ x 6.5″.
