Woohoo! New Rubber!

dsc02264.JPG

Well, I’ve went on a little spending spree as you can see.  One of my favorite new places to shop for rubber is Cornish Heritage Farms, here is the link, if you would like to check it out http://www.cornishheritagefarms.com/intro.php?osCsid=dtmnia8l444rr6anm95hm03995

I love realistic stamps and they have them!

Anywhoo, I’ll be spending the morning cataloging my new purchases.

I keep a large 3″ binder that has page protectors in it and a scanned pic of all my stamps in it.  When I get new Stampin’ Up stamps I scan the sticker sheet before assembling my stamps.

I keep them organized in the binder by manufacturer.  My Stampin’ Up stamps are alpha order in the binder and the stamps themselves are stored on shelfs in alpa order.

My mind doesn’t do well in an unorganized environment, so I keep my craft room very organized.  I also clean up after each project so I can start anew with a clean slate, so to say.

Have a wonderfully colorful day!

Looking forward to seeing what you can do with these new stamps! Looks like following your blog could be hazardous to my wallet 🙂 I would like to see tutorials on how to use distress inks. I’ve never worked with them. I like the distressed look, but don’t know how to create those bgs. PS I envy your sense of organization!

  2. Brilliant, I thought I was the only one that copied the sticker sheets for the SU sets. But when you have more than 10, it’s easy to lose track and to forget what you have. I also put little stars beside the pictures in the catalogue.

I think your ideas and creativity is genius and truly inspiring. I just recently had a baby boy, and while in the hospital recovering from my c-section, YOUR blog was the second thing I looked at, the first being Jack, my new little guy.

    Cheers and keep crafting!

Your storage tip for SU stamps is better than mine. I put like-sized containers together, regardless of what is inside. Totally disfunctional but it looks nice. LOL

Ribbon storage is my biggest issue. I have looked into rain gutters from the local building store but the metal is too heavy and clumsy. The idea is great and they hold all sizes of ribbon if I could just find the same thing a little less “tough”. Any ideas??

  5. I so wish I had copied sticker sheets first, that would have been soooo
helpful!! You have so many stamps! I would love a day or month of play in your room!
Can you show what your computer file of stamps looks like? I would love to do something like that as well.
Thank you for all of your tips! Can’t wait to see more!

Hi, I like the idea of photo copying the sticker sheet, but some of mine I got used and the stickers are already on the blocks. I organize my SU and others collection in an Access Database. I have all my sets organized alphabetically and have the name linked to a photo of the set. I also have them crossed referenced by phrases, so if I am looking for a particular saying I can see what I have and then find that set.

My single and odd stamps I had trays made. I use a baker rack to stack them with the general catagory on the side. I photographed the trays and have the pics in a notebook…then I also know where to put the stamp back…its almost a puzzle fitting them into the tray…Lol.

I organize my unmounted stamps by general catagory in plastic boxes similar to the ones that SU come in but mine are 8 1/2″ by 11″ by 1/2″ I stamp the image on a sheet and include that. The stamp sticks to the other side of the container. They fit nicely in a crate or you can put them into a file drawer. The boxes were ordered originally for me to sell on ebay and are only available in large quantities from a distributor, but I found I used a good quantity of them myself. The company has all different dimension boxes and thicknesses. The one I use for unmounted is the thickness of a comic book. (which was one of the suggested uses from this company) I tried the ez mount system, but they would fall off and the snap shut cases work nicer.
