A Glimps into my world Part V

I am in the process of moving my Stamping Space from the smallest room in the house to one of the largest.  It will be a really long process.  The new room needs emptied out, painted, new flooring, new furniture bought etc. before I move my stuff.  In the mean time I have been purchasing new organization containers and figuring out how I can scale down some of what I have accumulated prior to making the move.  No sense moving things that I no longer need.  I am making myself get rid of anything that has not been used in a years time.  Think about all of your craft treasures.  Anything you haven’t used in a years time.  Exactly!  Ouch!

But I must be strong!  Wish me luck, please.

Yesterday I spent the entire day weeding through my embellishments (brads, ribbon, flowers, fibers, etc ) and sorting them by color into these Forget-Me-Not Keepers from Stampin’ Up.  It looks so much nicer than my old storage.

I also took my card-stock out of hanging files and put them in Stampin’ Up Paper Holders.  Now that brings a bit of color to my space.

Woohoo! At least you’re moving from smaller to larger space, not the other way around, lol! I can only imagine the angst of weeding out though. I say “imagine” because I have yet to do it myself…

  2. Hi Michelle. Good for you getting so organized and getting a larger space. I like the look of the clear plastic containers and the paper looks inviting. Can’t wait to see what you do with all your stamps in the new room. Debbie

  4. Can’t wait to see the finished room. I find the whole process fun. I still have one more junk room to tackle then I’m done. Isn’t it great to work from home? 🙂

Ohhh, you are so clever! I have all ribbon in one place, all buttons somewhere else, primas in there spot, eyelets and hardware in their box, etc. Well DUH… It would work so much better to color organized. Then I get out one or 2 boxes to find the right embellishments. Instead of EVERYTHING. Thanks for the great Idea.

I am currently struggling to organize my craft room. I MUST get brutel and rid myself of those too long unused items, it is SO HARD to do.

Can’t wait to see the finished room. And now to go get busy in mine!

    Have a great Day… HUGs

Congratulations on the new stamp room! What a drag, though, to have to go through your stuff and actually THROW SOME OF IT AWAY?!!! Gasp and swoon! I don’t know if I could do it. Good luck!

I can’t keep papers uncovered but sure would enjoy seeing them displayed and ready to use the way you have them organized.

Wow you must be feeling ambitious to tackle a huge task like that!! I’m too wimpy to make myself purge what hasn’t been used in a year, because just when you get rid of it, someone comes up with a new technique and what do you need… that very thing! Ohhh that’s bad advise… I’m supposed to be encouraging you to be…. strong! my bad!
You have delightful organization techniques. I really like the binder ideas for cataloguing your stamps and markers. I am an excel junkie… so my heart skipped a beat when I saw how you made the spreadsheet for colours and numbers. I think that sounds like a good easter weekend project. I also want to label my stamp boxes on all sides so no matter which direction I store them, I’ll still be able to see a label. Word is great for label making and I have a package of the clear ones. Great inspiration as always!!

  11. I too will be painting and organizing soon I hope. We are having a bathroom put in our basement and so everything has been shoved into my art room – I have to paint the new bathroom/laundry area and so I know after seeing a fresh coat on that room, I will just have to re-paint the craft room. Such a big job, but it will feel so good once it’s done. Hey, I have some of those paper holders 1/2 price if you’re interested. I found I don’t need them anymore I use drawers now. Because my art room is in my basement and our house is over 65 years old, the paper tends to get a little damp unless I have it in drawers – hence I can’t really use the SU paper holders anymore.
Still loving your work! Have fun with the organizing!
