My New Office/Stamp Room – Update

Many of you have asked how my new Office/Stamp Room is coming along.  Well it is not completely done but here are a few photos.

My New Room has two work stations for me.  One for office work and one for creative work.  🙂

Please excuse the bare windows, like I said it is still a work in progress, lol.  At least I am starting to be able to find my supplies.  🙂

I have these bookcases on every wall for storage.

I do have my flat screen and X-box 360 in the room.   This is for my breaks, lol.

And of course, my stamps!

I will take a few more photos after I have had some time to actually decorate the space.  So far I love it.

I will be back again today to share a tutorial.

Hugs,

Michelle

Looks like Ikea strikes again. That place is wonderful for craft bookshelves.
I have started to unmount my rubber stamps. I am running out of storage room. It is a scary thing to do. I may never be able to find them again. LOL! I feel like I am creating vandalism by taking the stamps off of the wood. So far I am loading them into the SU clear boxes. I may get some of the unmounted DVD cases that SU offers. Have you unmounted any of your stamps? If so, how do you store them?

Mary, I haven’t unmounted any of my wood mounted stamps. I am only keeping my stamps until they retire now so I will be using all wood mounted.

Love it! It is such a good feeling to be able to find things-have a place for everything-you don’t take all day trying to look for something. I know you will really enjoy this room! (Your rug is absolutely beautiful!)
Enjoy this time with your granddaughter–those special times go by so fast!

It’s just how I imagined your craftroom would be – organised & fabulous but it looks like a working room. Sometimes some of the rooms I see don’t look like you’d want to touch or move anything out of place. It’s nice to see where you will be creating your tutes from now on.

What a wonderful looking room. It must be such a pleasure to be that organized and have room to really work in. Enjoy the new space.

By the way….Where is Lucas’ “cushy” place in your room. If he’s anything like my fur babies he’s always sleeping under the craft table collecting glitter or embossing powder. Lol

I look forward every day to see what you have created. Your brayer techniques create masterpieces. If you ever come to Sacramento, CA, I would love to take a class from you. Five years ago my husband built a playhouse for me on our 2.5 acres for stamping and egg carving. When he returns in 2 weeks, he has promised to double its size, since I have outgrown it (serious addiction). I just saw this week the ad for the IKEA shelf units and think they would be perfect in the addition. I am hoping the cubicles are at least 13 inches wide since I have many clear containers for 12X12 papers, etc. Thank you for sharing pictures of your stamp room. You inspire me in so many ways. I just received your newest card (love that you stayed in your pj’s all day, me too). I will be trying to duplicate your technique this weekend when I have a crafting friend coming for a sleepover so we can play. Thank you for your very clear instructions.

WOW now I don’t feel so bad about my I won’t even call it a studio but a storage room after seeing this! Mine is 9 by 10 feet so you can imagine how much stuff is crammed into that on shelves in Iris carts and a wall unit and closet! I do have a desk in there but I find myself hauling what i want to use out to my kitchen island which has turned into a very nicce work place surface, with some storage underneath for what I am currently using and everyday tools. Beautiful!

  10. Hi Michelle,
I am on vacation so had a chance to explore your site a little more. I missed this when you posted it, but just had to let you know that it is beautiful. I went with IKEA for my studio also and wouldn’t change a thing (well, unless I could get double the space for more people attending classes). One thing I have to ask, how do you manage to create your beautiful projects (all the brayering, embossing, etc.) on just one workspace?? I must be doing something wrong because I have 6+ workstations and I seem to use ALL OF THEM when I am creating!!! I need one space for brayering, one for stamping, one for embossing, one for cutting, one for stamping — and it goes on and on!!! I have to know your secrets. And one other thing, is there anything you would have done differently now that you have used it for almost 6 months? (yes, I’m a nosy sort of person, but I pick up lots of tips from asking these questions). Thanks for all your creations and tips.

(A link to pictures of my studio if you want to be nosy like me — LOL. And yes, my studio is very cluttered compared to your well-organized studio.)
