My Mother’s Passing

Hi there, you are probably wondering why I have been absent from my blog for a while.  Well my Mother, Jeannette passed away at the very young age of 68.  I have been spending all of my time with her in her last days and now I will be taking care of her estate and making funeral arrangements.

My mother passed from a smoking related illness, please, please if you smoke, STOP NOW!  If not for yourself then for your family.

Thanks to everyone who has been keeping my family in thier thoughts.  I will resume my blog posts when I get my life back to normal.  Hang in there, I have not forgotten you.  🙂

Huge Hugs,

Michelle

Michelle – very sorry to hear. It’s so hard losing your mom! My mom died from a smoking-related illness as well and I still have some resentment that she invited death into her life every single day.

Know that we all care and grieve along with you… stay strong, you will get through this!

    Much love!

You are in my thoughts and prayers. I have lost both my parents when they were very young as well. It won’t get better for a while, but eventually it will get better. You will have a “New Normal” now, and please, just give yourself some time, and rest plenty. She is not gone, she is just away.

I’m sorry for your loss. My mom died at the young age of 59 from a drinking related illness 3 years ago, so I understand what you are going thru. It’s such a shame to lose people we love from something that could have been avoided. But you will get thru it. Her love for you will never leave you even though she is gone. Make sure to take time for yourself, even if it is to just sit alone quietly for a few minutes every day.
    Take care,
    Valerie

  9. Michelle, I’m so sorry about your mom. My mom also passed away “young” from smoking related causes. I used to break her cigerettes in half when I was a kid. I sure got in trouble for that! Wish I could take away your pain. For me it was a couple years before I stopped being angry. I’ll pray for you and your family. HUGS.

  10. Sorry to hear about your mom. Take time for yourself. Know you are loved.

Thank you for encouraging people to stop smoking. My dad is currently on oxegyn because of smoking. Very sad to see him struggle to breathe. Addictions can be so hard to break but well worth the health benefits.

    Hello Michele,

My deepest sympathy for your loss. My father died at the same age(from the same illness) and now 15 years later I still miss him. It will remain an empty spot but keeping good memories is very important. The essence of a person will always be there. And for what it’s worth I believe in eternal life of our souls and that one day we shall meet again!

So sorry for your loss – my father died from heart failure brought on by years of emphysema. Yah, smoking’s just not worth it! Again, so very sorry for your loss. Beautiful picture of your mother!

  16. Michelle, I just learned of your mother passing. I’m sending you gentle hugs and prayers for all of you. My father died at age 72 from lung cancer in large part due to smoking. I am so grateful to my husband who told me to stop smoking when we got married 42 years ago.

We’ll miss you but be sure to take the time you need. We’ll be here when you get back to your blog. 🙂

    Dear Michelle,
Words are so inadequate at such a difficult and trying time. May God pick you up and carry you through all that is required in the upcoming days. I am praying for you and for His blessings upon you and your family. Sending love and a big electronic hug!
