My Mother’s Passing

Hi there, you are probably wondering why I have been absent from my blog for a while.  Well my Mother, Jeannette passed away at the very young age of 68.  I have been spending all of my time with her in her last days and now I will be taking care of her estate and making funeral arrangements.

My mother passed from a smoking related illness, please, please if you smoke, STOP NOW!  If not for yourself then for your family.

Thanks to everyone who has been keeping my family in thier thoughts.  I will resume my blog posts when I get my life back to normal.  Hang in there, I have not forgotten you.  🙂

Huge Hugs,

Michelle

    Michelle,

My thoughts and prayers are with you. I know what you are going through because my mother (who was a long time smoker) is in hospice care right now for lung cancer. My neighbor, who is a hospice nurse told me that it doesn’t matter how old you are, when you loose your parents, you still feel like an orphan. It’s such a sad time.

And it’s such a waste for people to die of smoke related illnesses. All we can do is hope is that those who smoke will realize it and quit.

We look forward to hearing from you again when you are able to post. In the meantime, we’re thinking of you and hoping that you will take care of yourself!

  2. I’m so sorry to hear about your Mom. My Mom also passed away from a smoking disease at the same age. I HATE cigarrettes and have told my kids if they start smoking they are out of the will! Not that we have a lot of money or things, but I just wanted them to know how serious I take this subject. HATE, HATE, HATE cigarrettes!! I was at my Mom’s side too when she passed, and I’m so glad I could be there. Take comfort in the fact that you were able to be there. And spread the news on how bad smoking is!!

  3. Michelle, You have my deepest sympathies. I am fortunate to still have both my parents. Dad is 82 and Mom will be 80 in Oct. They live in Louisiana and we live in Texas. We’ve been trying for the past 4 years to convince them to more to Texas (my sis and I). We just live too far away to be able to help them when one gets sick.

They were both smokers from very young age. But managed to quit in the 1980s. Mom suffers some ill side effects from it in her older age now. But I am so glad they quit when they did.

I wish you happy memories of your mom.
    God Bless.

  7. Michelle – I am sorry for your loss. Losing a parent is very hard. I’ve lost both of mine, and both had smoking related illnesses that lead to or contributed to their deaths. I still miss them terribly. Take care.

My prayers are with you. Having lost my mother at the young age of 62 from COPD, I can share how you feel. I remember my mother sharing with me what her mother told her when her mother lost her own mother. She told my mother, when you lose your mother, you lose the one person who will always love you no matter what you do. A mother’s love is like no one else not even a father’s.

My mother passed almost 17 years ago and I still miss her terribly. I pray that God will be with you in the days, weeks, and months ahead. That He will comfort you and give you peace.

Michelle – Please accept my deepest sympathy on the loss of your Mother. Your mom was only three years older than I, so it really hits home when someone so close to your age passes away. I, luckily, have never smoked but that doesn’t really mean a lot having been surrounded by second-hand smoke for years with my mom and other family members smoking. While it is tragic that so many have lost their lives prematurely because of smoking, it is more baffling as to why young people today take up the habit knowing so much more than we knew at their age. I can’t figure it out but it’s like they want to have it all end sooner rather than later. Please know that you are in the thoughts of so many who get such great joy out of your artisitic ability and thank you for sharing it with us. Take your time to adjust to this change in your life, and we’ll be here waiting when you feel up to returning.

    Hugs.

I am so sorry to hear this news. I will keep you in my prayers. I know the business you are beginning to deal with can seem to take forever and leave you little time to morn, but take that time! We will miss your posts but we aren’t going anywhere. I’ve been down this road, but since I learned my Craftiness from my mom…every time I am pleased with a card creation, I “hear” my mom’s comments or her amazement at the new products I have to work with. Moms never really leave us, they are in us!

I am so sorry, my Mom passed away AT 68 years of age, 15 years ago, this past
August 2nd, OF SMOKING….and other conditions but smoking and ALL the problems
and conditions that come from that are a horrible way to leave this world….
I quit smoking at 20 years of age, when I was pregnant, and never started again….
now 2 of my 3 children smoke … I am not “thrilled” about that to say the least…
I pray for you and your family in the coming days, weeks and months ahead….
it took me a long time to get over Mom’s death….
May God Bless you and comfort you as only He can….and remember the good times
    and memories…..
