My Mother’s Passing

Hi there, you are probably wondering why I have been absent from my blog for a while.  Well my Mother, Jeannette passed away at the very young age of 68.  I have been spending all of my time with her in her last days and now I will be taking care of her estate and making funeral arrangements.

My mother passed from a smoking related illness, please, please if you smoke, STOP NOW!  If not for yourself then for your family.

Thanks to everyone who has been keeping my family in thier thoughts.  I will resume my blog posts when I get my life back to normal.  Hang in there, I have not forgotten you.  🙂

Huge Hugs,

Michelle

    Dear Michelle,

I am so sorry to hear about your mother. Losing someone we love is a life changing experience. I also lost my mother at a very young age (67) to a smoking related illness, so I second your message – ENCOURAGE ALL THOSE YOU LOVE TO STOP SMOKING!
Take care of yourself and know you are not alone.

You have my deepest sympathy, Michelle! It’s obvious you have many, many fans all showing their support of this tragic loss of your Mom. It’s never easy to lose a loved one, and those who never have just don’t understand. Trust me ~ I know. My father passed in 1990 and my mother in 1997. Not a day goes by that I don’t miss them; however, time does help heal with the grieving. Take good care of yourself, and we all look forward to the time when you can stamp and blog again! Smoking? Yuk!

Michelle – I was so sorry to hear of your Mum’s passing. It’s a sad time for you and all of the family. I hope that it helps to know that your “out in the big wide world of internet stampin’ family” is thinking of you,and that may, in some way, help you at this time. Please take the time that you need for you and your family – and remember to look after YOU,
    Take care, Jo

Oh Michelle, I’m so sorry for your lost. I lost my mother, too, due to a smoking related illness. She was only 42 and I was 23. Left a huge hole in my heart that is still there (I’m almost 61 now). I will lift you up in my prayers.

I am so sorry that your mother has passed away. It’s is such a huge loss when we loss a parent. After loosing my mother when she was only 36, I always encourage others to cherish every moment they have with their parents. Those memories are more precious than we can realize.

I hope the time you spent with her in the end brings some comfort and hugs to your and your family.

  11. I’m so sorry for your loss. 😦 My grandma passed away from smoking related illnesses as well; she had a hard life and she smoked a lot and her body just started giving up on her, one little bit at a time. 😦 She was also 68 and passed one month before my daughter was born. It was heartbreaking and I miss her so much.

Many hugs to you; I hope that life is smooth as you mourn.

My deepest sympathies, Michelle to you and your family. I was afraid that might be why your blog has been so quiet. My father also passed at age 68 due to a smoking-related illness. May the good memories of the past quickly overshadow the recent sad memories of your Mother’s illness. Take care…

Michelle, I lost my dad three months ago. I, too, was able to spend his last couple of weeks with him and I wouldn’t change that for anything. You have my sympathy, but based on the photo you chose of her, I know that you are celebrating a very special life. Take care of yourself and know that you have lots of people who love you out here.

Michelle, my deepest sympathies on the passing of your mother. I’m sending you hugs and praying that you will have peace and comfort to your heart and mind at this time. I too know what it’s like to lose a beloved parent and though nothing can make it “better,” just know that you have many friends who care about you and are there for you if you need anything.

    Michelle,
I really understand your grief and the need to be with your Mother in her final days. I have done the same thing this summer. My Mother passed away on Aug 4 after a horrible 2 year struggle with breast cancer that spread to her bones. She was also a smoker and it certainly complicated her condition. She had pneumonia more times than I remember and blood clots that went to her lungs in the final week. My Mother was age 69 and she & my Dad would have celebrated their 54th anniversary on Aug 20. I will definately have you in my prayers! Sending you love from Missouri!

I am so glad that you had many years with her and hopefully lots of fond memories. She was blessed to have you as a daughter and that you were able to spend time with her in her final days. So very sorry to hear about your mother. It is a special kind of pain to lose the one person who has always loved you from the day you were born, who would love you no matter what you did till they died. There is nothing quite like a mothers love and to lose it leaves an ache that never goes away though it is dulled by time. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
