My Mother’s Passing

Hi there, you are probably wondering why I have been absent from my blog for a while.  Well my Mother, Jeannette passed away at the very young age of 68.  I have been spending all of my time with her in her last days and now I will be taking care of her estate and making funeral arrangements.  

My mother passed from a smoking related illness, please, please if you smoke, STOP NOW!  If not for yourself then for your family.

Thanks to everyone who has been keeping my family in thier thoughts.  I will resume my blog posts when I get my life back to normal.  Hang in there, I have not forgotten you.  🙂

    I am so very sorry to hear about the loss of your mother, especially at such a young age. I am glad to hear though, that you were able to spend some valuable time with her towards the end of her life. My heart goes out to you and your family. Has anyone ever said how much you look like your Mom? What a beautiful woman!

    Oh Michelle, how sad to read about your mother. I lost mine in a car accident some 25 years ago, and it is such a sad thing to lose the treasurer of your past. I am sure the part of her life that you were in was very beautiful, and it made her very happy. Please be assusred that you are in my thoughts and prayers, and certainly in my heart.

    I’m sorry to hear about your mother, I knew that something was unusual when you hadn’t posted. Sometimes you just have to “let go and Let God” take the wheels.
    I hope that someday you can find peace with your mother’s habit and move forward from your loss. Both of my parents smoke and I am still young, but each year I think more and more about losing them and it makes me so sad. As the oldest, I will be in charge of my parents estate as well. I wish you the best over the next few weeks, and months especially as this time will be challenging. You and your family are in my thoughts daily and I will check your blog everyday for an update and say a prayer for you all if I don’t see one.

    Michelle, I’m so sorry about your mom. As so many others have stated, I too lost my mom at the same age and cause. One thing I’ve always been grateful for was that my sis and I were given the opportunity to be with her round the clock the last few days, right up to the end.     I also lost my mother to smoking related issues. It has been been just over 3 years now and I still think about her every day, but almost always with a smile now. Find strength and comfort in your memories and your family, and know that there are hundreds of people all over Canada and the US praying for you and your mother. We will be here when you are ready to come back.

    My heart goes out to you and your family.

    I quit smoking as of May 20th 2009. I am happy to say I feel healthier and know that I didn’t just do it for me I did for my DD.

    so sorry to hear of your loss. I can’t imagine how you must feel. hold on to the memories. I have a mom that smokes and I hate it. she has quit a million times I think and I wish she would stop for good but I doubt it will ever happen. i will never pick up a cigarette for that reason.

    You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers for peace and beautiful memories in the days to come. My sister, age 65, is battling terminal lung cancer due to 45 years of smoking. I hear it is one of the hardest addictions to overcome.

    I am so sorry to hear about your Mom. I quit smoking 3 years ago, but it wasn’t enough. I just finished my radiation and chemo treatments at the age of 56. I know what you have gone through and my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
