Autumn Leaf Stamp Tangle

Hi There,

I’m busy packing for my next travel location.  I will be heading to Lincoln, Illinois to teach my brayer techniques to some fabulous students, woohooo!  I love an adventure, don’t you?

Before I leave I wanted to pose a question for you.  Do you know what Zentangle is?    Zentangle is something I find myself doing when I’m a bit stressed or just want to calm my mind.  Zentangle is a relaxing process that turns drawing simple patterns into artistic design.  Plus you get the mental health benefits, love that.   Here is a link to the Zentangle Creator’s website if you would like more info on Zentangling, CLICK HERE.

Now, you know how much I love rubber stamping and I’m guessing that you do too if you are reading my blog.   Well I have been playing around with using stamping in the Zentangle process.  I call it Stamp Tangle.

Would you like to know how this is done?  Maybe see some tutorials?  If so, let me hear from you in my comment section below.  If you are getting this via e-mail and want to comment, please CLICK HERE  and then leave a comment at the bottom of the actual blog post.

If there is some interest I will create some Stamp Tangle things to share with you on this blog.

It’s a wonderful process.  I think you will love it.

May you have an inner peace filled weekend.

Until my next post. . . . .

Hugs,

  1. Michelle,
This is a very interesting design. I would love to know how you did it.
I’m sure your tutorial will be very informative. I love your work and am
jealous because I’m not so talented, but I still enjoy trying. Thank you for
the beautiful tutorials you do. Just seeing them brings me pleasure and
    encouragement.
    Many Thanks

Yes I would definitely be interested in a tutorial because when you said it helps when you’re stressed or need to calm yourself, I thought to myself….me too! This Zentangle is for me, ha-ha. I’ve never even heard of it until now. I love art & stamping too. Thank you so much for always bringing us new & creative ideas. Have a nice day.

Michelle, I love Zentangles. I’ve been doing it for a couple years but have not used stamps yet. This is beautiful. I love it. What paper did you use for this design?

    Hi Michelle:

thanks for bringing this new idea to us. i do like it, an would be interested in some tutorials. i used to be a doodler after all!

one thing it made me think of though– could you use background stamps or some other stamps to make the doodle part with (or part of it?)? maybe even using masking or something. or maybe use scraps of rubber (from stamp sets) to make a stamp (you know stuck on an acrylic block like the mosaic technique) that you can then use to do with the doodling? just adding some more ideas into the broth!

good luck, i feel so far away in Australia, i would dearly love to come to one of your classes!

    thanks again for everything!
    cheers, stephanie

You make everything look so beautiful, interesting and intricate in the picture but when you give us the step-by-step process I know I can do it even without all the creative juices that you have. Please share.

Yes ~ I would definitely be interested in some more stamp tangle ideas. I find tangling relaxing and just wish I had more time for it. I will be looking at the stamps I have in a different way to see if they would be good for this technique. Thanks for everything you do!

    Michelle,

I have never heard of Zentangle, but just love the idea. Please tell us how to do this and if possible suggest some books to buy or sites to check this out. I have done this kind of art before as an artist but never knew it had a name.
Looking forward to meeting you in Vegas in January at your brayering workshop:>)

    Hugs,

    Helena
