Autumn Leaf Stamp Tangle

Hi There,

I’m busy packing for my next travel location.  I will be heading to Lincoln, Illinois to teach my brayer techniques to some fabulous students, woohooo!  I love an adventure, don’t you?

Before I leave I wanted to pose a question for you.  Do you know what Zentangle is?    Zentangle is something I find myself doing when I’m a bit stressed or just want to calm my mind.  Zentangle is a relaxing process that turns drawing simple patterns into artistic design.  Plus you get the mental health benefits, love that.   Here is a link to the Zentangle Creator’s website if you would like more info on Zentangling, CLICK HERE.

Now, you know how much I love rubber stamping and I’m guessing that you do too if you are reading my blog.   Well I have been playing around with using stamping in the Zentangle process.  I call it Stamp Tangle.

Would you like to know how this is done?  Maybe see some tutorials?  If so, let me hear from you in my comment section below.  If you are getting this via e-mail and want to comment, please CLICK HERE  and then leave a comment at the bottom of the actual blog post.

If there is some interest I will create some Stamp Tangle things to share with you on this blog.

It’s a wonderful process.  I think you will love it.

May you have an inner peace filled weekend.

Until my next post. . . . .

Hugs,

  1. I’m new to zentangle and have tried my hand at it, but the last time I tried one, I also used a stamp and worked around it. I love that idea, so would love to see a tutorial around this style. I thought perhaps I was bending the rules, but I guess not. I’ll wait to see what you bring to this topic.

I got a chance to try this recently. Yes, very relaxing almost puts you in sleep mode. I didn’t think I could do this. Once I got started it was fun.

Michelle … a tutorial on Stamp Tangle would be FABULOUS !! I too, learned about Zentangle this summer … I have trouble finding a starting point to allow the “zen” to flow … stamping would be perfect … but I could really use a few [actually a lot] of guidance from YOU

ps drove a hundred miles / paid a hundred dollars to take one of your classes … AND I would do it again in a heart beat … You are a Fantastic Instructor

    Hi Michelle
I love love love the process of tangeling. I have been doing it now for about a year now. I have several books of them. I buy a 5 x 5 notebook and tangle in that. I also have a couple of bigger ones that I have tangeled in. I have three girls (all married) but they all have major problems with their health. One of them has had several strokes and is trying to get her health. This is going on 5 years with her. Another one of my girls is in the hospital. They say she may have a rare disease with her stomach. Tangeling has helpd me settle down a lot. Bet ween tangeling and God, I have worn them both out.
Your tangeling is great. It would be great to add rubber stamps to it.
Thank you for all of your tutorials, they are great!

I love to see zentangle. I have been admiring it for a couple years now maybe and have looked at some of the websites on it but still just can’t get the hang of it. In my mind you still have to be an artist to create this fun look. I would love to learn how to do this. Thanks

Your workshop was great in Lincoln. So glad you could do it and make those great cards.

Would love to see how you combine stamps and tangles! I was briefly introduced to zentangle at a stamping class I took last year and am now fascinated with it! Would be cool to see how you approach the combination!
