Still Plugging along. . . .

Hey There,

As you see, I am still plugging away at my quilt.   I wanted you to see how pretty it is looking quilted.

I finished putting the quilt top together and I took it to a wonderful lady who quilted it for me on a big quilting machine.  I don’t have the patience anymore to quilt one myself.  She only charged me $40 to quilt it and it came out beautiful!

Now it is my turn again, I will be putting button bodies on my dragonflies’ wings and then finish the binding around the edge.

All the colored fabric in the quilt is Stampin’ Up! fabric.   If you haven’t purchased any yet, just know it is wonderful to work with, like all their products.    The Stampin’ Up! Dresden Plate Die, Circle Die and Big Shot Machine made quick work of the cut pieces.   I cut four layers of fabric at a time.  I think it can handle 8.   The Dresden Plate Die can cut two different sizes.  That is how I made the dragonfly wings.

I cannot wait to get this done.   But it may not go on the bed right away since my old dog Lucas has been eyeing it.   100 lb dog on my brand new quilt, I don’t think so. . . . . . . . .

It’s suppose to be up to 80 degress today.  I may have to get out in the garden to do some weeding.

Before I close here are a few reminders of Stampin’ Up happenings:

Beautiful job so far on your quilt Michelle! I can’t wait to see what the dragon flies look like when they are finished. I love how you used all the different fabrics for the strips between your blocks. That makes everything blend together so nicely.

Wow, Just beautiful. Is the background white or cream? How many pkgs of fabric did you end up using? Yep thinking I’d like to copy you if you wouldn’t mind.

    • Hi Deb, Start out with 3 boxes. I pulled nine different fabrics from different collections (boxes). One good thing, you can order more if needed. 🙂 Happy Quilting!

What DO you do in your spare time?! It tires me out just listening to all you accomplish. More power to you. The quilt is beautiful and I don’t blame you for not wanting the dog sleeping on it. Your chicks are darling, each with their own personality and beauty. And you not only garden but you reap what you sow and put it up for later use. Oh, I think you take good care of hubby, too. Wowza!

  6. Michelle that quilt is really beautiful. Love the colors you used. Very nice combination! I wish I liked to sew but then I don’t need another excess supply of something besides my card making supplies.
