Farewell Precious Lucas

Russ and I had to say farewell to our precious Lucas.  He passed this morning at the age of 12.  Such a gentle giant that will not be forgotten.

Sorry for my blog absence, but my heart is broken.  I’m going to go cry some more.

    I am so sorry for your family. I have lost some wonderful pets in my life and it never gets easier. The most recent was a kitten I had gotten from a kill shelter and had to put her down at 6 months old due to a rapid growing cancerous tumor attached to her intestinal tract. It had metastasized to the rest of her body. It had only been 6 weeks between vet appointments for shots. I knew something was wrong. I found it so hard to get over. Hugs from the south for you and the family.

    My deepest sympathy for the loss of your beloved Lucas. Our Emma will be gone 13 years tomorrow. It feels like yesterday. They are always in our hearts.
    May your wonderful memories of him get you and your husband through this difficult time.

    Oh Michelle,
    My heart aches for you. I know first hand how hard it is to have to say goodbye to our dear, sweet pets. They are truly members of the family. They bring such love and joy into our lives. Find peace in knowing how much he loved you and knew he was loved by you. He is now eagerly awaiting your reunion on the other side. My prayers are with you and your family.     How heartbreaking. I am so sorry, they become our fur babies as important as any member of the family. And their loss is as deep. Take your time, cry your tears, the pain will ease over time, but the memories are forever. I have been there, it sucks.

    So sorry to hear about your furbaby. I have 2 that are 10 & 11 yrs old. Had to have one put to sleep before we got them. I can see these are aging, but not ready to go thru that again. I will be praying for you. HUGS!!!

    So sorry to hear about your loss, lucas carries a piece of your heart away with him, this is the price we pay for all those tail wagging moments, the complete devotion, all the soggy balls and cold noses, it is a small price to pay and yet too much at the same time. big hugs x

    Oh my goodness….. hugs coming from away; we lost our 16 y.o husky in June & at times I still have a cry; I miss her like crazy & I’m sure these are the same feelings in your home; have quiet days, reflecting; it’s good for the body, soul & mind; blogging & stamping will look after itself!!

    I’m so sorry to hear that your sweet Lucas has passed on. I loved all the pictures and stories of him and your girls. He reminded me a great deal of our aussie Elijah. He was also a gentle giant, always watching out for everyone, but especially mom. I think when our gentle giants are gone we feel that empty shadow just a little more. My heart goes out to you and your husband. I hope in time his memories bring you more comfort than sadness. It’s been almost 6 years since I lost Elijah and his sister/litter mate Chelsea. And although their loss still brings me tears their memories warm my heart. I’m sure when they see Lucas in heaven they’ll give him a big aussie woof hello!

    I am sorry to hear about Lucas. My dear little basset hound died last Sunday morning. He was just 6. He was recently diagnosed with Cushing’s Disease but somewhere along the way he picked up a viral infection and it just could not be stopped by intense antibiotics. Hugs and tears for us all.

    So sorry to hear this! You know all pets go to heaven! Picture your dear Lucas in heaven doing all the things he loves the most!

    I’m so very sorry to hear about your loss. Lucas was a beautiful dog. My heart breaks for your family. I lost my best friends (2 labs age 10 that passed 4 months apart) 5 years ago. It still hurts and I still cry when I go to some of their favorite places but my heart has healed. Give yourself time and yours will to. It’s such a shame we can’t have them a bit longer. Hugs~

    Michelle, my heart is breaking for you and your family on the loss of your precious Lucas. I lost my baby, Roxi of 14 years December 2 due to liver failure. It is so hard to loose a precious pup that has been your baby for so long. I am lost everyday. Roxi was a handicapped girl that required me for all of her needs. Prayers & hugs go out to you and Russ. I know that Roxi welcomed your Lucas as he crossed over the Rainbow Bridge. :^)
