Bad Chickens

When you approach the girl’s (chicken’s) million dollar run and condo (as Russ calls it) you find them begging to get out to free range.  The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence I suppose.

Watch out opening the gate, there will be a stampeed, lol.  I love to watch them peck around in the yard, but they always end up in places they should not be.

When you yell at them, this is what you get. . . . .  I believe this is equivalent to “talk to the hand.”

First on their list of things that they must do that I don’t want them too is dig holes in the area of the yard that I just spent an afternoon leveling out.

Second, roost on the lawn furniture.  Here is Goldie ignoring my pleas for her to scram.

I’m apparently not very threatening to them because here comes Sugar and she not only jumps up on the lawn furniture, but she jumped up on the chair that I am sitting in.

I say “get down Sugar” and she says “hmmm” scratch, scratch, scratch,  “let me just think about that”.

“Am I allowed here?”  Well she is off of the chair I suppose and she loves to cuddle with me.

Hey get out of the day lily bed!!!  I just cleaned the bed out!

They have also been cleaning the bed out.  I will be amazed if even one day lily survives.  They have decided this is the place they wish to take their dirt baths.

I do have a strict rule “NO CHICKENS ON THE DECKS.”

I swear they are standing at the door laughing at me. .. . . . .Bad Chickens!

Ha ha! Your chickens sure do have their own personalities; they are such a hoot! Fun to read the updates. And your yard looks so sunny and snow-free! We are still all white and gray out here in MN, but hoping for a good melt soon. 🙂

Ooops!! I think I replied to the email on my inbox and not to your post, sheeesh!! sorry Michelle.
I was saying that your girls have grown so much and apparently have a mind of their own. I bet they felt great going “outdoors” after being cooped up indoors for such a long time. We all are still feeling the tight grip of Winter, the snow has melted finally but it’s very cold and very gray. I truly hope Spring gets here soon, I’m itching to go out my front and back yard and start getting ready for some flower planting.
Thanks for the update and for this glorious pictures.

This is the funniest post. Them standing there at the gate waiting to be let out was cute, but them looking in the door just made me lose it. They are such a hoot.

Hi Michelle… I just discovered your blog tonight (although really it’s early Sat morn!). A lovely scenic card you had posted last Nov brought me here to your blog from Pinterest.

After seeing your lovely card, I immediately started “following” you through Bloglovin’. I usually check the blogs I follow the last thing before heading off to bed. When I went back to check my followed blogs on Bloglovin’, it had added the past few posts you had made, and that’s how I came to this particular post.

Oh my! I am still ROTFL!!! Your chicken antics are just hilarious. I did not know they could be so funny (and tame)! It sounds like they all have you more wrapped around their little ‘finger’ than they are afraid of getting scolded, lol…. I about lost it completely at the last pic of them standing on the deck at the door… ‘bad chickens’!!!…

Now I’ll have to take some time and try looking back at some of your other ‘chicken’ posts some of the other commenters mentioned. And I definitely want to see some more of your lovely cards, too!

Thanks for the funny wrap up to the end of my day…. I guess I needed a good, out loud, from the belly kind of laugh today! 🙂

    Hi Michelle,
I also love the chicken posts. I wonder if “Sugar” may be a boy with his larger comb? I used to have chickens years ago and they were also “bad”, getting into the garden and eating lettuce, or just tearing it up. Thanks for sharing them! Laura
