Botanical Bliss

Hello there,

Like yesterday, I created my scene using the colors listed on the back of a Stampin’ Up! Designer Paper pack.  The paper pack I used today for inspiration was the Tropical Escape pack, 146916.

The colors on the back of the pack were Basic Black, Blushing Bride, Granny Apple Green, Shaded Spruce and Whisper White.  Stunning combination!

Since my scene was created heavily using the listed colors from the pack I knew the Designer series papers would go perfectly with the scene.  Really this saved me about a half an hour when I was putting the layout together.  I’m liking this short cut!  It really helps me to use more of the DSP I hoard too.  🙂

Hello there,

I love to look to different things for color inspiration and one of the easiest things to look at is the back of a pack of Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper.

Did you know, under the name of the Designer Series Paper Pack on the back of the pack is a list of coordinating colors for the paper.  The Tea Room DSP Pack coordinates with Calypso Coral, Coastal Cabana, Crushed Curry, Old Olive, Rich Razzelberry and Very Vanilla.  These are all colors I would not normally come up with in my mind but they are wonderful together.  It also keeps you from searching through your Designer Series Paper after you have created a scene to come up with a complimentary paper panel.  That part is already done when you use the listed colors, woot woot!

Today’s project is a great card of encouragement to a crafty friend.  I purposely created the background to look unfinished, like a painting in progress.

I kept the layout super simple so it doesn’t distract from unfinished scene.  I love the new Stampin’ UP! Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon, 146912.  It is see through and will be used a lot when I want my scene to show through.

Country Flair – Stampin’ Up! Card

Country FlairHello there,

I have another card for you made with the new Stampin’ Up! Country Road Stamp Set, item #147469.  This card most definitely has the laid back, down home feel that is so comforting to some of us laid back peps.

I created a weathered clapboard background for the wagon wheel to rest against to add to that country feel. I found the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper, item 144177 to be an excellent layer in the finished card.  I hope it inspires you to get inky today.  🙂

Hello there,

I’m finding I love the images so much from the Stampin’ Up! Lilypad Lake stamp set that I decided to use it again today.  This time I used the Egret image along with the Direct to Paper Technique to create my scene.  When I put this card together I used a very simple Designer Series Paper Fold to add a bit of interest to the layout.

Hello there,

To me blue is about the most soothing color there is.  Just look what happens when you layer a few different shades of blue, so tranquil.  The only stamp I needed to use for this scene is the cute little boats stamp from the new Lilypad Lake Stamp set.  See, you don’t need a bunch of stamps to create a lovely scene.
