Fringe Beach View – Stampin’ Up!

Hello There,
Fringe cards are all the rage these days.  Especially since Stampin’ Up! came out with the fabulous Fringe Scissors (item 133325).  The scissors have 5 blades that make quick work of making fringe, grass etc.  Love this new tool, it gave my card a bit of a hut feel back drop for my beach scene.  🙂

Birds In Spring – Stampin’ Up! Card

Hello There,
We have red bellied Robins all over the yard today looking for those juicy worms they so love.  You know it’s Spring when you see the Robins here in Ohio because they leave for the Winter each year so, it’s definitely a happy sight to see them once again.  Yeah Spring!!
The return of the Robins inspired me to create a bird card.  These are not robins, in fact I’m not sure what kind of bird I created, I just choose some colors that I thought would be exciting and would really pop on my card.  Let’s just say they are Zindorf birds, lol.
I also used a flower stamp from the new Stampin’ Up! stamp set Peaceful Petals (133107) in an unexpected way.  I turned it upside down and created vines with it to give a nice floral background for my two punched birds.
The more ways you can find to use a stamp the better value you get out of your them.

On another note. . . . .

Are you craftier than a 10 year old?

Let Hailie Jade show you how to make these quick flowers using  the Fringe Scissors .

Start with a 2.5″ x 11″ piece of card stock, DSP etc.

 

Fold the paper in half.

Cut the card stock on the folded side with the Fringe Scissors,  NOT cutting all the way through.

Add a piece of Sticky Strip double sided tape to the uncut edge and peel the red plastic off.

Roll the card stock up as tight as you can so that it sticks to itself.

Fluff it out by roughing it up with your fingers.

Make multiple colors and sizes.

Note:  make larger flowers by adding additional strips.  For the larger flowers shown here Hailie Jade used two card stock strips.
