Hello there,

So many times I’m asked how I come up with ideas for my projects, well most of the time I take a stamp set or two and build a scene around them.  But, on occasion I will be inspired by something I see.  This card was inspired by a flannel shirt I seen at Tracker Supply one day while picking up Chicken Feed.  I wish I would have taken a picture of it but I just put it to memory instead.  The flannel shirt was a women’s black and white check with this great pink color and cuffs.  It also had this deer antler print worked in.   So, that is my inspiration for today’s project.  🙂

Hands down my favorite stamp set from the Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog is the Carols of Christmas stamp set and it teams up perfect with the Sheltering Tree Stamp set, the portions of the tree and deer are perfect!

Reindeer Silhouette – Stampin’ Up! Card

Hello there,

Yesterday I created a card using the Acrylic Block Watercoloring technique.  This technique is incredibly easy and quick so I felt it would be a great technique to incorporate in my Christmas card making today.  Easy and quick, oh ya!

I love the images in the Nature Sings stamp set, but I’m not sure if the images are Reindeer or Elk since I have neither in my neighborhood, lol.  I took the liberty of saying it is a Reindeer since I will be sending this as a Christmas Card.  🙂

I colored the deer in with Black marker to make it a silhouette so it would stand out well against the watercolor background.  I feel any image I can make into a silhouette is a bonus for that stamp set.  Plus, talk about easy of coloring!

Winter Angel – Stampin’ Up! Card

Winter Angel

Hello there,

Have you ever made a snow angel?   If you are from a snowy region I’ve no doubt you have.   Growing up in Ohio I’ve made lots and lots of snow angels, snowman and snow forts.  This card brought those wonderful memories back to me this morning and made me smile from ear to ear.  Also made me long for a good snow storm, I know crazy!

Isn’t it fabulous the cards you create can bring back memories and emotions for loved ones?

This cute little kid came from the darling Cookie-Cutter Christmas set.  Love it these stamps!

Beachy Scene – Stampin’ Up! Card

Hello there,

Have you checked out the Beachy Little Christmas Stamp set.  It has great Winter sentiments but, it also has plenty of images that can be used year round which makes this stamp set an extra value.  I kept the lights on the palm tree white and that way I can use it for the holidays or for any festive occasion, like I said great value!

I also used the new Stampin’ Blends Markers, they go on like butter and I certainly don’t miss the lines in my coloring.  They blend like a dream which makes us all look like artists!

I was in the mood for a Winter scene today so, I pulled out Soft Sky and Soft Suede  to use in my design.  I love these colors together and the Soft Sky has such a cold look in Winter scenes.  Added a piece of my favorite Designer Series Paper, Foil Frenzy in Soft Sky to the layout.  You only need a strip of this DSP so it goes a long way.  🙂

Hello there,

Showing light in a scene is usually about what isn’t there instead of what is there when it comes to color.  Leaving those white areas is the key.  🙂

I left this card without a bunch of embellishments to make it more wallet friendly when mailing.  By adding a panel of the Foil Frenzy Designer Series Paper it still has that festive holiday feel.
