Swirly Butterfly – Tutorial #188

Spring is in the air and I cannot wait for the return of the butterflies to my garden. I made use of my Big Shot Die Cut system and the swirly die. This die would be great for scrap-bookers due to it’s length. This card finished measures 9″ x 4″ and fits well in a #10 business size envelope.

Let’s get started so I can get out in my garden and start clearing away the dead stuff from last fall, lol.

Supplies:

Stamps: Stampin’ Up Wonderful Wings (retired) and Embrace Life

Paper: Stampin’ Up Whisper White, Lovely Lilac & Basic Black

Ink: Stampin’ Up Night of Navy, Basic Black, Brocade Blue, Bashful Blue

Accessories: Prismacolor Markers, Versamark pad and marker, sponge, white gel pen, clear embossing powder, heat gun, Big Shot Die Cut Machine, Swirly Die

Stamp the butterfly by first loading my stamp with Versamark and then Basic Black dye based ink before stamping it on a 2 1/4″ x 3 1/4″ piece of Whisper White Card stock.

Heat embossed the image using clear embossing powder and a heat gun.

Colored in the Butterfly with Deco Yellow Prismacolor Marker.

Added Deco Orange marker.

Added Parma Violet marker.

Went over the entire butterfly again with Deco Yellow to blend the color together.

Added Light Olive Green to the body of the butterfly.

Colored over the entire butterfly with Versamark marker and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder and a heat gun.

Sponged Bashful Blue ink over the card stock.

Sponged on some Brocade Blue ink.

Got darker yet by sponging on Night of Navy ink around the outside edge of the card stock.

Used my Big Shot Die Cut machine and the Swirly die with Basic Black Card stock.

Stamped The Embrace Life stamp a few times at the bottom of a Lovely Lilac card stock panel.

Sponged Night of Navy at the left side of the panel.

Sponged Black at the right bottom corner of the panel.

Colored the leaves in with Parma Violet marker.

Highlighted a few of the leaves with a white gel pen.

Assembled card and here it is finished measuring 4″ x 9″.

I am back and I had a fantastic time teaching my brayer workshops in Wheaton, Illinois. It was such a pleasure meeting so many dynamite ladies, most of which are stamping fanatics like myself. There are a lot of us out there, lol. Thank you ladies for giving me such a warm welcome.

Now a bit about today’s tutorial, I brayered the background on this at an angle to create a bit more interest in the scene. I also added a shadow at the flower pot base to create some depth. Grab a cup of your favorite beverage and hang out a while.

Supplies:

Stamps: Stampin’ Up Bloomin’ Beautiful & Frames with a Flourish

Paper: Stampin’ Up Whisper White, Lovely Lilac & Not Quite Navy

Ink: Stampin’ Up Kiwi Kiss, Not Quite Navy, Night of Navy & Bordering Blue, Palette Noir Black

Accessories: Versamark Pad & Marker, Clear embossing powder & a heat gun, Brayer, Sponge, Piercing Tool, Prismacolor Markers, White Gel Pen, Stampin’ Up Ticket Corner Punch

On a 4.5″ square piece of Whisper White card stock I stamped the sentiment by first loading the stamp with Versamark and then with Kiwi Kiss Dye based ink before stamping it. Then heat embossed it using fine detail clear embossing powder and a heat gun.Stamped the pot of flowers with Palette Hybrid Noir Black ink. After stamping it, I heated the ink a bit with my heat gun to set it. This helps to keep it from smearing.

I colored the shaded areas of the pot with a Prismacolor Cloud Blue marker.

Added a bit of Cold Stone marker to the the pot, just below the leaves.

Colored the flowers with Deco Pink marker.

Added Violet Mist marker to the center of the flowers.

Colored the leaves with Lime Green marker.

Added Light Olive Green to the dark areas of the leaves.

Put a dot of Parma Violet marker in the center of the flowers.

Colored over the flowers and pot with a Versamark marker and then heat embossed it using clear embossing powder and a heat gun.

Now that I have my images all heat embossed they will resist the ink I put on for the background.

Brayered Bordering Blue ink at an angle on the bottom of the card stock.

Flipped the panel upside down and brayered Bordering Blue ink at the top of the card stock at an angle.

I felt I need a break in the background so I stamped the flourish twice with Bordering Blue ink.

Wiped the ink off of my embossed images with a cotton towel.

Sponged Not Quite Navy ink around the edge of the card stock and to the right and under the flower pot to create a shadow.

Sponged Night of Navy at the very edges of the card stock and a little right under the pot to get a deeper shadow.

Used the Stampin’ Up Ticket Corner punch on my main image panel and a 4 5/8″ square Whisper White Panel.

Adhered a 5 3/8″ Square Lovely Lilac Panel to a 5.5″ Square Not Quite Navy Panel and then Sponged Not Quite Navy ink at the corners of the Lovely Lilac panel.

Adhered all of my panels together and added a dot of White Gel pen right in the center of the flowers to make them pop a bit more.

Used my Piercing tool to start my brads in the corners.

Here is the finished card measuring 5.5″ Square.

Thinking of My Sister – Tutorial #184

This scene is one that makes me think of my Sister in Colorado. She has photos of her garden with bright orange flowers with a background of stunning mountains. Although my scene does not even come close to her spectacular views, I gave it a shot and was please with the results. I used the Stampin’ Up Sale a Bration set “Botanical Blooms” in the foreground of this scene. This is one of the cute sets you can get free with a $50 order during Sale-a-bration through March 31st.

Supplies:

Stamps: Stampin’ Up Botanical Blooms & Thoughts & Prayers

Paper: Stampin’ Up Whisper White, Tangerine Tango, Basic Black, Baja Breeze

Ink: Stampin’ Up Tangerine Tango, Real Red, Pale Plum, So Saffron, Baja Breeze, Chocolate Chip & Basic Black

Accessories: Versamark Pad & Marker, Fine Detail Clear embossing powder, Heat Gun, Brayer, Sponges, Piercing Tool, Post it notes, Photo Corner Punch, Tombo Mono Multi Liquid Glue, Silver Brads

Stamped the flowers on a 4″ x 5.5″ piece of Whisper White Card stock by loading my stamp with Versamark and then loading it with Basic Black Dye based ink. I heat embossed it with clear embossing powder and a heat gun.

Note: I load my stamp first with Versamark because I use dye based inks. They dry really fast so the Versamark gives the embossing powder something to stick to. If I were using Pigment ink, I would not need the Versamark.

Loaded stamp first with Versamark and then Tangerine Tango ink before stamping it over the flowers. Heat embossed them with clear embossing powder and a heat gun.

Note: Botanical Blooms is a two step stamp set. It has the out line stamps (first step) and then it has the fill in stamp (second step). This is a quick set to use and it looks like watercoloring to me.

I over stamped the flowers with the same stamp by first loading my stamp with Versamark and then loading the stamp with Real Red before stamping. I heat embossed the images again with clear embossing powder and a heat gun.

Although you cannot see it in this picture, the Red ink does give me a bit of variance in the flower color.

Stamped a second set of flowers using the very same steps I used above, heat embossing the images with clear embossing powder.

Now my flowers are not completely covered with embossing so I went over them with a Versamark marker and heat embossed them again using clear embossing powder and a heat gun to make sure they were protected from the ink I will be brayer and sponging over them (called the emboss resist technique).

Brayered So Saffron ink at the bottom of the card stock.

Brayered Pale Plum ink at the top of the card stock.

Layer two post it notes together and tore through the stick part of the post it notes. I used the post it notes to mask the sky area of the scene.

Sponged Baja Breeze ink on the card stock creating a mountain.

Moved the post it notes down a bit and sponged on Basic Black ink to create a hill.

Removed the post it note mask and sponged Chocolate chip ink around the flowers at the bottom of the card stock. I also stamped the outline stamp of the leaves over the flowers.

Stamped the leaves fill in stamp with Chocolate Chip ink over the leaves out line.

Waited a few moments for the Chocolate Chip ink to dry and then I wiped the ink off of my embossed images with a cotton towel.

Stamped the tree from the Stampin’ Up Thoughts & Prayers set with Basic Black ink.

Sponged Baja Breeze ink around the card stock edge.

Punch black photo corners out.

Adhered the photo corners to my card front and then used my piercing tool to start the holes for the brads.

Here is my completed card measuring 5″ x 6″.

Embrace Life Today – Tutorial #180

I needed to get my embossing powder fix this morning so I came up with this project using the Stampin’ Up Set Embrace Life and some clear embossing powder, love that stuff, lol. I also love pink and brown together so I decided to use that color combo and add a bit of a twist by using Apricot Appeal in the background center to add a glow to the project. Hope you like it. 🙂

Let’s get started.

Supplies:

Stamps: Stampin’ Up Embrace Life

Paper: Stampin’ Up Whisper White, Chocolate Chip and Apricot Appeal

Ink: Stampin’ Up Basic Black, Apricot Appeal, Close to Cocoa, Creamy Caramel, Chocolate Chip

Accessories: Sponges, Stampin’ Up Markers, White Gel Pen, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Copper Brad, Versamark Marker, Clear embossing powder and a heat gun

I used a Curvy Cutter and cut a 5″ circle out of Whisper White Card Stock.

Stamped the flowers around the edge of the circle using Basic Black ink.

Used a Stamp-a-ma-jig to stamp the flower in the center using Basic Black ink.

Colored some of the flower petals on the small flowers and the entire large flower with a Pretty in Pink marker.

Added a bit of Cameo Coral marker to all of the flowers.

Went over the large flower’s center and the edges of the large flower again with the Pretty in Pink marker to get a graduation of color in the flower.

Colored over all of the little flowers and the entire large flower with a Versamark marker and heat embossed all of them at once using fine detail clear embossing powder and a heat gun.

Using a circular motion I sponged Apricot Appeal ink in the center of the circle.

Sponged Creamy Caramel ink around the outside of the circle, not covering the Apricot Appeal ink entirely.

Sponged Close to Cocoa ink around the edge of the circle, not covering the Creamy Caramel ink entirely.

Added Chocolate Chip ink at the very edge of the card stock using a sponge.

Stamped the leaves with Creamy Caramel ink.

Colored the leaves in with an Apricot Appeal marker.

Added an outline of Close to Cocoa marker on the bottom of the leaves.

Added a white highlight to the tops of the leaves and the center of the large flower.

Adhered the main image panel to a Chocolate Chip 5″ square panel and sponged Basic Black at each corner of the Chocolate Chip Panel.

Added a 5 1/8″ square panel of Apricot Appeal card stock and a Copper Brad in the center of the large flower.

Here is the finished card measuring 5 1/8″ square.

I hope this tutorial has inspired you to use a warm color in the center of your next project to create a glow.

St. Patrick’s Day is just around the corner so here is a tutorial using a cute Stampin’ Up set called Pinch Proof. This tutorial shows how to layer embossed images.

Paper: Stampin’ Up Whisper White, So Saffron, Basic Black and Old Olive

Ink: Stampin’ Up Really Rust, Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron, Old Olive, Basic Black & Always Artichoke

Accessories: Stampin’ Up Piercing Tools, Always Artichoke marker, Versamark Marker and Pad, Sponges, Brayer, Clear embossing powder and a heat gun, Faber Castel Indian Ink Black marker

Stamped the image by first loading the stamp with Versamark, then Old Olive ink and then colored his hands, feet and face with a Basic Black Marker before stamping it on a 4″ x 5″ piece of Whisper White card stock.

Made his suit and hat a bit darker with an Always Artichoke marker.

Heat embossed the image using clear embossing powder and a heat gun.

Colored over his hands, face, white areas of his neck, shirt and buckle on his hat with a Versamark marker and heat embossed the image again using clear embossing powder and a heat gun.

Stamped the sentiment by first loading the stamp with Versamark and then Basic Black ink before stamping it.

Heat embossed the sentiment using clear embossing powder and a heat gun.

Stamped the clovers by first loading the stamp with Versamark and then Old Olive ink before stamping them.

Heat embossed the images using clear embossing powder and a heat gun.

Over stamped the clovers by first loading the stamp with Versamark and then loading the stamp with Always Artichoke before stamping the images. Heat embossed the images using clear embossing powder and a heat gun.

Brayered So Saffron ink on the card stock.

Brayered Pumpkin Pie ink at the top of the card stock not covering the So Saffron ink all the way.

Brayered Really Rust ink at the very top of the card stock, not covering the Pumpkin Pie ink entirely.

Using a soft cotton rag, I wiped any brayered ink from the embossed images.

Sponged Old Olive ink at the bottom of the card stock.

Sponged Basic Black ink at the bottom of the card stock, not covering the Old Olive ink entirely.

Sponged Really Rust ink around the edge of the entire piece of card stock.

Outlined the right side of the some of the clovers and the Leperkahn with a Faber Castel Indian ink Black marker.

Used the Stampin’ Up piercing tools to pierce two rows at the bottom of the assembled card front.

Here is the finished card measuring 5″ x 6.5″.

Skating One Last Time – Tutorial #171

Supplies:

Stamps: Stampin’ Up Snowy Play & Lovely as A Tree, Rubber Stampede Mirror Image Stamp

Paper: Stampin’ Up Whisper White, Real Red and Not Quite Navy

Ink: Stampin’ Up Not Quite Navy, Baja Breeze, Basic Black

Accessories: Stampin’ Up Markers, Post it Notes, Brayer, clear embossing powder, heat gun, White Ribbon, White Gel Pen, Versamark Marker and Pad

Stamped the skater by first loading my stamp with Versamark and then with Black ink before stamping. Heat embossed the image using clear embossing powder and a heat gun.

Colored his nose with a More Mustard Stampin’ Up marker.

Colored his skates with a Real Red marker.

Colored his scarf with a Certainly Celery marker.

Added a shadow to his scarf with an Old Olive Marker.

Added a shadow to his skates with a Bravo Burgundy marker.

Added a shadow on his body with a Bashful Blue marker.

Colored his arms with a Creamy Caramel marker.

Out lined the crack in the ice with a Versamark marker and heat embossed it using clear embossing powder and a heat gun.

Colored over his body with a Versamark Marker and heat embossed with clear embossing powder and a heat gun.

Masked the sky with a Post it note and ripped a post it note and masked the bottom right corner.

Brayered Baja Breeze ink all over the unmasked area.

Brayered Not Quite Navy at the right corner of the card stock.

Brayered Not Quite Navy ink at the top of the ice .

Wiped the ink off of my embossed image using a soft cotton rag.

Unmasked the card stock.

Stamped just the trees at the top of the card stock with Basic Black ink by only inking up the trees, not the ground area of the stamp.

Stamped a reverse image using a mirror image stamp. To use this stamp you stamp your image on the mirror image stamp and then stamp the mirror image stamp on the card stock.

I only inked the trees and not the ground area before stamping it on the mirror image stamp using Not Quite navy Ink.

I wiped the ink from the embossed image again with a soft cotton rag.

I extended the tree trunks so the images looked more natural using a Not Quite Navy marker and a black marker.

Brayered Not Quite Navy Ink at the top of the card stock.

Assembled the card from and added some White Gel pen to the black trees and to the snowman to light him up a bit.

Here is my finished card measuring 5″ x 6.5″.

Thinking of You Penguin – Tutorial #150!!!!!

When someone introduces a person to the great craft of Rubber Stamping they should scream, very loudly “Warning, Warning, Warning” just like the robot in the old TV show, Lost in Space (I’m showing my age here folks). Not only will you want every single stamp that you see and will tell yourself that you need it, yeah right, lol. But you will need, I mean want, every single tool that you are introduced to also, along with card stock, lots and lots of card stock.

Also, I will show you a Mirror Image Stamp by Rubber Stampede, you can do an Internet search and probably come up with a million places to get this stamp and I will show you how to paint with an Aqua Painter, which I got from Stampin’ Up.

Supplies:

Stamps: Fire Cracker Designs by Pamela

Paper: Stampin’ Up Whisper White, Basic Black & Not Quite Navy

Ink: Stampin’ Up Basic Black, So Saffron, Riding Hood Red, Not Quite Navy & Baja Breeze

Accessories: Brayer, Versamark pad and marker, fine detail clear embossing powder, Aqua Painter, Going Grey Marker, White Ribbon, Silver Brads, Heat gun, reverse image stamp by Rubber Stampede

This is the rubber side of the mirror image stamp (ignore the stains from use). To use the mirror image stamp you will stamp your image on the mirror image stamp and then stamp the mirror image stamp on the card stock. This creates a mirror image of the original stamp. Clear as mud? lol

So, starting out I stamped a mirror image of the penguin using the mirror image stamp and Black ink upside down on my Whisper White card stock. I chose to not press really hard when stamping the mirror image to keep it light and broken looking.

I then stamped the original penguin stamp up right and above the mirror image using Black ink.

My Whisper White card stock measures 3.25″ x 6.25″.

Stamped the star in the sky using Versamark only.

Using my Aqua Painter and So Saffron ink I painted the Penguin’s sweater and hat.

I use a re-inker and place a drop of ink in the lid of the ink pad, but you can squeeze the ink pad when it is closed and you will get a pool of ink on the lid that you can use to watercolor with.

When painting the mirror image I use water down ink so it is lighter than the original image.

To clean my Aqua Painter I brush it on my scrap paper until it doesn’t show any color on the paper any longer.

Next I painted the Riding Hood Red ink on using the same method.

After the paper has dried all the way, you can go back in and paint your shadows (dark areas) in on the sweater and hat using the Aqua painter and the same colors of ink. Layering the same color will show darker, but you have to wait for the paper to dry.

I also painted his beak with So Saffron.

Colored the black areas of the mirror image with a Going Grey marker.

Colored over my Original image using a Versamark marker and then heat embossed the star and the original image using fine detail embossing powder and a heat gun.

Now that my original image and my star are heat embossed I can brayer over them and they will resist the ink.

Brayered Baja Breeze ink at the top and bottom of the card stock.

Tore a post it note and used it as a mask. Sponged Baja Breeze ink at the post it notes torn edge to create the ground.

Sponge a little Not Quite Navy ink right at the post it note edge not covering the sponged Baja Breeze ink entirely.

Removed the post it note mask.

Brayered Not Quite Navy at the top and bottom of the card stock, not covering the Baja Breeze ink entirely.

Sponged Not Quite Navy around the edge of the card stock.

Assembled the card, adding silver brads and white ribbon. Here it is finished measuring 5″ x 6.5″. Oh yeah! This is tutorial number 150!!!!

Snowman Greetings – Tutorial #149 and some Basic Grey Blog Candy

We had our first snow for the season yesterday and it put me in the mood to stamp a holiday greeting card. I really love snowman stamps and this one is especially wonderful because this snowman by MyPaperMoon.com is not looking straight ahead. You can have him looking at a multitude of things. Stamps: My Paper Moon.Com Snowman, Stampin’ Up Warmest Regards & All Season Wreath

Paper: Stampin’ Up Whisper White, Basic Black & Bravo Burgundy

Ink: Stampin’ Up Basic Black, Baja Breeze, Tempting Turquoise & Craft White, Adirondack Lake Mist & Oregano

Accessories: Versamark Pad and Marker, White Gel Pen, Prismacolor Markers, Stampin’ Up Markers, Post it Note, Clear embossing powder, Heat Gun, Sponges, Stamp-A-ma-Jig, Photo Corner Punch

Stamped Snowman by first loading my stamp with Versamark and then loading it with black ink before stamping it on a 4″ x 5.5″ piece of Whisper White card stock.

Heat embossed the image using fine detail clear embossing powder and a heat gun.

Colored his nose with a More Mustard marker.

Colored his pipe with a Close to Cocoa marker.

Colored his scarf and the inside of his hat with a Baroque Burgundy marker.

Colored the dark parts of his scarf and inside of his hat with a Bravo Burgundy marker.

Colored the dark parts of the snowman’s body with a 10% Grey Prismacolor Marker.

Added Muted Turquoise marker to the shadow parts of his body to give him a blue tint.

Colored over the entire image with a Versamark marker being careful to color the light sections first and then the colored sections. Remember lightest to darkest. 🙂

Heat embossed the image using clear embossing powder and a heat gun.

Brayered on Baja Breeze ink.

Sponged Tempting Turquoise ink below the Baja Breeze ink.

Sponged a little Oregano ink behind the snowman.

Stamped the sentiment in black ink using a Stamp-a-ma-jig for placement.

Tore through the sticky edge of a post it note and then sponged Lake mist ink right at the post it note edge to create some mounts of snow.

Moved the post it note and repeated for a second mound.

Assembled card front and added punched black photo corners.

Stamped the All Season Wreath stamp around the right and left sides of the Burgundy panel using Craft White ink.

Added dots for berries with a White Gel pen.

Added more dots on the Burgundy panel and some doodles on the Photo Corners. Also added the brads to the photo corners.

Here it is finished measuring 5″ x 6.5″.

Using White Floral – Tutorial #144 and Some Blog Candy

Today I thought I would warm things up a bit and use some really bright colors, but first I have some blog candy to tell you about. 🙂

Supplies:

Stamps: Basic Grey “Insignia”

Paper: Stampin’ Up Whisper White & Night of Navy

Ink: Adirondack Red Pepper, Sunshine Yellow, Bottle, Raisin, Pesto, Denim, Ginger, Butterscotch

Accessories: Mellow Moss Marker, Black Marker, White Gel Pen, Versamark pad & Marker, Sponges, Brads, Ticket Corner Punch, Fine Detail Clear embossing Powder & Heat Gun

Stamped Flowers on a 4″ x 5.5″ piece of Whisper White card stock by loading the stamp first with Versamark and then Pesto ink before stamping it.

Repeated the last step to add the second flowers.

Heat embossed the images using fine detail clear embossing powder and a heat gun.

Colored the middle of the leaves with a Mellow Moss Marker.

Colored over the leaves and colored the white middle of the flowers with a Versamark Marker and then heat embossed them with clear embossing powder and a heat gun.

Sponged on Sunshine Yellow ink.

Sponged on Red Pepper ink.

Sponged on Butterscotch ink.

Sponged on Ginger ink.

Sponged on Bottle ink.

Sponged on Denim ink.

Sponged on Raisin ink.

Wiped the ink from the embossed images using a clean sponge.

Over stamped the embossed images with the weed stamp and more flowers using Denim ink.

Wiped off the embossed images again with a clean sponge.

Outlined the right sides of the embossed flowers with a fine point black marker.

Outlined the tops and left side of the embossed images with a white gel pen.

Used a ticket corner punch on the main image panel and the two panels below it.

Assembled card and added brass brads. Here it is finished measuring 5″ x 6.5″.

I hope this tutorial has encouraged you to use the white of your paper to add a bit of drama to your cards. Also this sponged background can be used for sooooo many scenes.

Homespun Snowman – Tutorial #143

Well I don’t know if they follow the Daylight Savings Time Change in your area of the world, but in Ohio we had to put our clocks back 1 hour last Sunday. Let me tell you what this does to me.

I normally wake at around 3:30 to 4:00 a.m. in the morning. I don’t own an alarm clock. I rely on my internal clock. When the time changes, my internal clock doesn’t and I wake up at 2:30 to 3:00 a.m. until my internal clock adjusts. Even for me that is way, way to early. So, for the next week or two I will try to force myself to stay a wake later in the evening to try to straighten my clock out. 🙂

But this morning I was wide a wake at 2:30 a.m.. So what’s a girl to do when she can’t sleep, well color a snowman, of course! Even though it is in the 70’s here for the next few days, not normal for Ohio in November. I guess I’m just screwed up all the way around, lol.

I decided to give this snowman a homespun feel this morning.

Let’s get started on the tutorial 🙂

Supplies:

Stamps: Fire Cracker Designs by Pamela

Paper: Stampin’ Up Very Vanilla, Bravo Burgundy & Creamy Caramel

Ink: Stampin’ Up Creamy Caramel, Not Quite Navy, Night of Navy, Chocolate Chip & Basic Black, Palette Noir Black

Accessories: Prismacolor Markers, Black fine tip marker, White Gel Pen, Versamark Marker, Clear Embossing Powder, Brayer, Sponges, Word Window Punch, Heat Gun

Stamped Snowman on a 4″ x 5.5″ piece of Very Vanilla card stock with Palette Noir Black ink.

For those of you who follow my blog, you thought I was going to say Whisper White didn’t you?

Stamped the Sentiment on the sign with Palette Noir Black ink.

Colored the snowman with a Prismacolor Brick Beige marker.

Added Cinnamon Toast marker.

Added Mocha Light marker.

Went over the layers of marker with the Brick Beige marker to blend them a bit.

Colored the nose with Sienna Brown marker.

Colored the scarf and mittens in with Crimson Red marker.

Added Mahogany Red to the scarf and mittens.

Added Cocoa Bean marker to the darkest areas of the sign and snowman edges.

Colored over the images with Versamark marker. Be careful with this step, the colors will smear so color your light colors first and work toward the dark, cleaning your Versamark marker tip often on your scrap paper.

Note how the Versamark changes the color of the snowman and sign. You can count on Versamark to make your images a shade or two darker.

Heat embossed the images using clear embossing powder and heat gun.

Brayered Not Quite Navy at the top of the card stock.

Brayered Night of Navy at the top of the card stock, not covering the Not Quite Navy entirely.

I wiped the brayered ink from the snowman the best I could with a paper towel, but my snowman is stained a bit. Oh well he just looks a bit more rustic now. 🙂

Defined the snowman’s hair a bit with a black fine tip marker.

Ripped the edge off of a scrap piece of card stock to use as a mask.

Held the mask in place and sponged Creamy Caramel ink at the mask edge.

Added a bit of Chocolate Chip ink at the mask edge, not covering the Creamy Caramel ink entirely.

Removed the mask. See, I now have a horizon line.

Moved the masked down to the bottom of the card stock and repeated sponging the Caramel ink and the Chocolate Chip ink at the mask edge to create a hill in the snow.

Removed the mask and sponge just a bit of Chocolate chip ink under the snowman to create a shadow.

Used the fine tip black marker again to add dimension to the sign and snowman by putting a line under the snowman and under the sign and to the right of the sign and sign post.

Sponged Night of Navy ink at the top of the card stock to really darken it.

Sponged Black ink around the entire main image panel.

Added dots in the sky and highlights to the top of the snowman and the sign with a White Gel pen.

Sponged around a Creamy Caramel panel with Chocolate chip ink.

Punched to word panel punches out of Bravo Burgundy card stock. Stacked them together and cut one end off of them.

Assembled my card added the punches and some copper brads. Here is the completed card measuring 5″ x 6.5″.

Here’s hoping your internal clock is ticking perfectly today!
