Stampin’ Up! Stamps: Christmas Blessings (item number 123809)

Card Stock: Stampin’ Up! Pretty in Pink, Early Espresso, River Rock

Ink: Stampin’ Up! Early Espresso, Raspberry Ripple, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White

Accessories: Stampin’ Up! Sponges, Antique Brad, Modern Label Punch, Stampin’ Write Markers (So Saffron, Pretty in Pink, River Rock, More Mustard, Raspberry Ripple), Blender Pen, Piercing tools to start brad, Clear embossing powder, heat gun, Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Big Shot Machine

Are you getting inspiration from this blog?   One way you can help support it is to order your Stampin’ Up products through me.   Click HERE to place an order and have your order delivered directly to your door step from Stampin’ Up!

Started this project with a 3.75″ square Pretty in Pink panel.  Stamped the flowers using Whisper White Craft ink and heat embossed it using clear embossing powder and a heat gun.

Colored in the flowers using a Pretty in Pink marker and blender pen.   The added Raspberry Ripple marker and blended the edges out with a blender pen.   Added So Saffron marker to the center of the flower.

Added More Mustard marker dots to the center of the flowers.   Also outlined the stems using a River Rock marker.

Sponged Pretty in Pink ink around the edges of the card stock, leaving the middle un-inked.    Also sponged Raspberry Ripple ink around the edges of the card stock not covering the Pretty in Pink ink entirely.

Sponged distressed the edges of the card stock using Early Espresso ink and a sponge.

Ran the main image panel and a 4.25″ square panel of Early Espresso panel through the Big Shot Machine using the Square Lattice Embossing Folder.   I love this folder.  It looks like a cross stitched piece.

Adhered the main image panel to a panel of River Rock.

Added an Early Espresso modern label punch and wrapped it over the top of the card stock.  Then added an antique brad using piercing tools to start the brad.

Added a 5″ square card base.

Here is the finished card measuring 5″ square.  🙂

I’ve started a new project.  It’s to take a photo every day.     I’ll share some of my favorite photos here on my blog with you.

This shot was taken on my deck as I watched the chickens peck around.

Chicken Talk

Well the girls are finally laying, well at least 2 of them.  I’m as proud as any mother, lol.  Just look at those eggs!   A couple of them were even warm when I gathered them.  Hot off the press they were, grin.

Now the girls have an onry streak.  They have learned that they can move Lucas our dog around the yard even though he weighs over 100 lbs.  They wait until he lays down and then they start pecking the ground really close to him.  He then gets up and moves to a new spot and the process starts all over again.

I just love the pattern of spots in Red’s and Bunny’s feathers.   This would make a fun background paper, don’t you think?

******************************************************************

My heart goes out to those who are being affected by the hurricane on the East Coast.

May you be safe and warm today and always.

Until my next post.. . . . .

Up-Cycled Treat Container – Tutorial 541

Hello There,

Do you save plastic containers that make their way into your house to re purpose?  I do and they are starting to stack up, pile up and fall off the shelves I have them stored on.  So, here is a quick project using some.   This container is one that I got generic Crystal Light in from Walmart.  It will be the perfect size to put homemade candies in to give out to my husband’s guy co-workers this coming holiday season.    I didn’t put any bling on these since they are created to give to men.   But you can go crazy with bling for yours!

Once you have the measurements down for the first container they go together pretty quickly.   Also, I will have them done and ready to fill come the holiday rush.  Woohoo!

Check out the tutorial below.

Project Supplies:

Stampin’ Up! Stamps: Tags til Christmas and Teeny Tiny Wishes

Card Stock: Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper, Snow Festival, Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler and Baja Breeze card stock.

Ink: Stampin’ Up! Cherry Cobbler

Accessories: Stampin’ Up! Punches (1 1/4 square, 1 3/8 square, Word Window and Decorative Label, corner rounder), sticky strip tape, Walmart Generic Crystal Light container, Stampin’ Dimensionals

Are you getting inspiration from this blog?   One way you can help support it is to order your Stampin’ Up products through me.   Click HERE to place an order and have your order delivered directly to your door step from Stampin’ Up!

Yep, I have a bunch of these containers.    🙂

Started by cutting a 8.5″ x 6″ piece of Designer Series Paper and a 1″ x 8″ strip of coordinating paper.

Put Sticky Strip down the middle of the front of the container and a strip down each side of the DSP.  Attached the paper to the container, wrapping it around snugly.   Since the container is a bit wider at the top than it is at the bottom the paper will not be even at the and bottom.

Put a strip of coordinating paper around the top of the container.  Added a triangle of DSP over where the ends don’t meet up to give it a finished look.  This is the backside of the container.

Stamped the sentiment for the front of the container on scrap Whisper White card stock using Cherry Cobbler ink.  Punched it out using the 1 1/4″ square punch.  Also punched a 1 3/8″ square punch from Baja Breeze card stock to go behind the sentiment.

Stamped the sentiment for the top of the container using Cherry Cobbler ink on a scrap piece of card stock.  Punched it out with the Word Window punch.   Also punched the Decorative Label punch from Cherry Cobbler card stock and cut a 1.75″ x 2.5″ piece of Baja Breeze card stock.   Rounded the corners of the Baja Breeze piece using the corner rounder punch.

Adhered the 3 pieces for the top of the container together and then adhered them onto the top using Stampin’ Dimensionals.   Popped the sentiment up using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Here is the finished project all ready to be filled with goodies.  I’m thinking homemade carmels, yum!

Stamped the En Francais stamp using Soft Suede ink.

Sponged Soft Suede ink around the edge of the card stock.

Embossed Ornaments – Tutorial #519

Hey There,

Are you stuck in the United States heat wave?   We are expecting temps to reach 105 degrees for the next couple of days here.  Now, I know that isn’t extremely hot for some of you in the USA, but it’s unusual here in Ohio in June.

I’m just trying to keep cool by thinking of Christmas.  So hence, the Christmas card project today.   Besides, I now have 2 Christmas cards done for this year, lol.

I think I have lost my mind.  I’ve been running the oven kicking out some Blueberry Zucchini Bread.   I’ll give the recipe for those of you who are interested at the end of this post.   It’s yummy!  Already, my garden is producing more veggies than Russ and I can eat, so I’m trying to do some baking and canning to stay ahead of the game.  This Blueberry Zucchini Bread is super moist and freezes well.

Here are a few Stampin’ Up Reminders before I start the project.

Now on with today’s tutorial. . . . .  . .

Supplies:

Stamps: Stampin’ Up! Merry & Type and Snow Swirled

Card Stock: Stampin’ Up! Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler and Baja Breeze

Ink: Stampin’ Up! Baja Breeze, Island Indigo, Midnight Muse, Cherry Cobbler and Gold

Accessories: Stampin’ Up! Sponge Daubers, Versamark Pad, Versamarker, Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Gun, Stampin Dimensionals, Framelits – Apothecary Accents, Big Shot Machine, Baja Breeze Seam Binding, Stampin’ Markers – Pink Pirouette and Cherry Cobbler, Prismacolor Gold Marker.

Are you getting inspiration from this blog?   One way you can help support it is to order your Stampin’ Up products through me.   Click HERE to place an order and have your order delivered directly to your door step from Stampin’ Up!

Gotta love these new Framelits from Stampin’ Up!  This set is the Apothecary Accents (item number 127003).  I used the large one on the right.

Die cut it using Whisper White card stock and the Big Shot Machine.

You won’t be able to tell what I stamp here until I start putting in the background color.   Take my word for it, lol.

Stamped Snowflakes at the top of the card stock using Versamark.   Embossed the images using clear embossing powder and a heat gun.

Stamped the Ornaments using Gold ink.  Heat embossed the image using clear embossing powder and a heat gun.

Colored the images in entirely using a Pink Pirouette marker.  Added Shading by adding Cherry Cobbler marker to the outside of the area and then blended it using the Pink Pirouette marker.   I left it light in the middle of the ornaments to give it a rounded look.

Heated the ornaments quickly to set the marker.

Colored over the ornaments (stay inside of the gold embossed image) using a Versamarker.   Embossed the entire image using clear embossing powder and a heat gun.  Now all the images are covered with embossing powder and will resist the background colors I will be putting on next.

Sponged Baja Breeze ink on the inside of the card stock and at the top.

Sponged Island Indigo ink around the edges of the card stock, leaving the middle of the card stock light.

Sponged Midnight Muse at the top of the card stock.

Softly wiped the embossed images off with a paper towel.

Cut a 4.75″ x 6.25″ panel of Cherry Cobbler.   Stamped a snowflake all over the card stock using Cherry Cobbler ink.

Added a 5″ x 6.5″ Baja Breeze Panel, 3″ x 5″ Cherry Cobbler Panel and a 3.25″ x 5.25″ Baja Breeze Panel.

Edged all of the panels with a Prismacolor Gold Marker.   To edge the card stock, put the marker tip 1/2 on the card stock and 1/2 on your scrap paper as you pull the marker along the edge.

Assembled the card adding a 10″ x 6.5″ Whisper White card base folded in half and a Baja Breeze seam binding double bow.

The main image panel and the 2 panels below it are popped up using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Now about that Blueberry Zucchini Bread. ………….

Ingredients

  • 3 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups white sugar
  • 2 cups shredded zucchini
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 pint fresh blueberries

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease 4 mini-loaf pans.
  2. In a large bowl, beat together the eggs, oil, vanilla, and sugar. Fold in the zucchini. Beat in the flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda, and cinnamon. Gently fold in the blueberries. Transfer to the prepared mini-loaf pans.
  3. Bake 50 minutes in the preheated oven, or until a knife inserted in the center of a loaf comes out clean. Cool 20 minutes in pans, then turn out onto wire racks to cool completely.

This recipe is from allrecipes.com.

May you have sunny days and cool breezes.

My heart and thoughts are with those of you that are in the flood areas of Florida or the fire areas of Colorado.  Please be safe.

Strung Up Christmas – Tutorial #513

Hey There,

LOL,  I know, I know, you just never can tell what you are going to find on this blog from one day to the next.  Here it is June and I kick out a Christmas card.

Well, the thing is, I sometimes get into a creative rut.   When that happens, I take out my Stampin’ Up! catalog and challenge myself to create with a stamp set that I randomly open the catalog too.    This time I opened to the holiday section and the one brand new stamp set I have on that page is this yummy set called Chock-Full of Cheer.   So here is a little Christmas cheer in June.   Check, one Christmas card made, lol.

A little about this project, I used ripped post it notes to mask to create my snow drifts.   This creates a lot of depth in the scene.   Take another look at the project and you probably think this was done by layering paper to create the snow drifts.  Think again, the main image panel is just one sheet of Whisper White.

Here are a few Stampin’ Up Reminders before I start the project.

Check out what’s new at Stampin’ Up!  The brand new Annual Catalog has been released.   CLICK HERE TO LOOK AT THE CATALOG ONLINE. Masked the bottom inch of a 3.25″ x 7.5″ piece of Whisper White with a couple of Post it notes.

Stamped the candy canes using Cherry Cobbler ink.

Removed the post it note masks.

Ripped some post it notes and masked as you see below.   Sponged Baja Breeze ink between the two torn post it notes.  Note:  try not to get the ink on the candy cane.

Sponged Wisteria Wonder ink at the bottom of the area.  Note:  try not to get the ink on the candy cane.

Removed the top mask from the left side and moved it to the right side.  Repeated sponging the Baja Breeze ink and then followed up with Wisteria Wonder ink at the bottom.

Removed all of the post it notes and sponged Baja Breeze ink at the bottom of the card stock.   Be sure to leave some white showing at the top of the first snow drift.

Sponged Wisteria Wonder ink at the bottom of the card stock.

Using the fine tip of a Basic Black marker drew in a line for my lights.

Used the mat pack template and markers to color in circles to create the lights along my black string.  I made some in Tempting Turquoise, Cherry Cobbler, Daffodil Delight and Old Olive.

A closer look.

Added a 8″ x 9″ piece of Baja Breeze card stock folded in half so it measures 4″ x 9″,  8.75″ x 3.75″ piece of Cherry Cobbler card stock.   Added Baja Breeze Seam Binding (double layer) to create the bow.  Add a piece of Real Red ribbon to the front bottom of the main image panel.  Adhered the main image panel to a 3.5″ x 7.75″ piece of Baja Breeze card stock and then pop them up using Stampin’ Dimensionals.     Added Dazzling Details to finish off the card and give it some wonderful sparkle.

Here is the finished card measuring 4″ x 9″.   This card fits into a 10# sized business envelope.

May you find joy in your heart no matter what time of year it is.

Rubbed the Crumb Cake ink pad directly on a 5″ square of First Edition DSP.

Rubbed the Whisper White Pad in the middle of the paper.

Sponged Cherry Cobbler ink around the edges of the paper.

Stamped the cupcake stamp on a scrap of the First Edition DSP and then cut out the icing part of the design and used it backwards.

Sponged Crumb Cake ink on around the edges.

Added Soft Suede ink around the very edge of the icing and the edge of the 5″ square.

Stamped the cup cake on Regal Rose card stock and then cut the cup cake paper out.

Distressed the edges of the cupcake paper by dragging it across the Soft Suede ink pad.

Punched 2 sizes of ovals out of Pool Party card stock.   Sponged Pool Party ink around the edges of the smaller oval.

Punched the cherry out of Regal Rose card stock using the cup cake punch.   Note:  I like the shape of the stamped cupcake better than the punched cupcake that is why I used it instead of just punching a cupcake out.  You may choose to do it the easy way, grin.

Colored the stem of the cherry using Basic Black marker and the the cherry using Cherry Cobbler marker.  I left a bit of the Regal Rose card stock showing for a highlight.

Cut the sentiment out of Basic Black card stock using Timeless Type Alphabet Dies and the Big Shot Machine.

Assembled the card front adding a 5.75″ square Basic Black panel, 5.5″ Regal Rose Panel, 5 1/8″ Pool Party Panel and Pool Party Ribbon.

Added some dots to the right and bottom sides of the Regal Rose card stock using the Mat Pack template for placement and a Basic Black marker.

Added a shadow under the cupcake and White Gel pen lines on the icing.

Added White Gel Pen dots to the sentiment.

Added Basic Black Brads to the ribbon using a piercing tool to start the brads.

Added Crystal effects to the cherry and the white gel pen lines to add some shine to the project.   (The crystal effects goes on looking milky but dries to a clear shine).

Added Blushing Bride marker underneath the icing  to create a shadow and some depth.

Here is the finished card measuring 6.75″ square.

May your day be perfectly sweet!

Sweet Bunny – Tutorial #496

Hey There,

I’m working on Wedding Invitations for my youngest Son’s wedding but, I took some time out this morning to do a little recreational stamping.  The Stampin’ Up! set “Everybunny” that I used here is too stinking cute!  I think this card could be used both for a baby card or for Easter.

Anyhow, I’m itching to get out in my garden since our temperatures here in Ohio have been a wonderful 70 degrees.  Along with the daffodils popping up I’m also seeing some weeds.  I best get out there this afternoon and start heading them off before they take over.     So how has your temperatures been?  Mild I hope.
