Stamped buildings with Basic Black ink.

dsc05953.JPG

Colored the buildings with a White Gel Pen.

dsc05954.JPG

Masked Sky and Buildings with a post it note.

dsc05955.JPG

Brayered on Creamy Caramel ink for the ground.

dsc05956.JPG

Moved the post it note so it masked the ground.

dsc05957.JPG

Added another post it note to cover the buildings.

dsc05958.JPG

Sponged on Basic Black ink to create a hill.

dsc05959.JPG

Switch the small post it note to the left side of the buildings and sponged on Basic Black ink again to create the hill on the right side of the buildings.

Removed post it notes.

dsc05962.JPG

Stamped the trees only by loading basic black ink only on the tree part of the stamp.  This let me omit the ground portion of the stamp image.

Sponged on Old Olive ink.

dsc05964.JPG

Stamped more trees with Basic Black ink.

dsc05965.JPG

Masked the sky and buildings again and sponged on Close to Cocoa ink.

dsc05967.JPG

Sponge Basic Black ink around the egdes of the card stock.

dsc05968.JPG

Punched to word window punches out of black card stock and cut one end of them off so they would look like hinges.

Assembled card and here it is finished measuring 5.25″ x 5.25″.

Hope you enjoyed this trip to the City.  🙂

May your day be filled with the lively sounds of the city and all of it’s treasures.

Until my next post. . . . . . . . . . .

Michelle

I’ve been wondering if you were going to use this stamp again, and how it could be used “differently”. This is another fun fall card that isn’t the normal leaves and pumpkins. Great job Michelle! I can’t hardly wait to see if you have new SU stamp sets and how you use them. Have a great day!

I think I’ve figured out what helps me achieve the same brayering look; I used a very thin mouse pad under the CS. Worked! I am always pleasantly astounded how you can take a stamp I would have never considered purchasing and making a piece of art. Sorry for the late delay, we’ve been battening down the hatches in preparation for Ike.

    Hi Michelle,
I have only recently discovered your site and I am awed by it. I live in Maryland and am going to try to figure out a way to get you out here for a class! Otherwise, I will have to travel to Ohio.

Thank you so much for taking the time to post such intricate directions as they really help in trying to duplicate your technique.

BTW, I thought your view of the city was a fitting card for September 11th!

    Take care,
    Cathie in Maryland

  4. What a great technique and a beautiful card. Honestly I was never quite sure what to do with a brayer – now I’m going to dust mine off.

Thanks so much for the instructions – time to play!
