Katzelkraft Bird in Water – Tutorial #152 And New Blog Candy!

dsc06941.JPG

Well hello there everyone!  I’ve been away tooooo long from my stamping room.  A lot has been going on with holiday preparation.

For the Thanksgiving Holiday my small family gets together at our house for the feast.  I still have half of the feast in the frig that needs eaten.  (Just slap it on my thighs, that’s where it is going anyway, lol)    We are not fancy people, this is my table setting for the occasion.  🙂

dsc06906.JPG  dsc06908.JPG

I have to show you the two beast that were underfoot in the kitchen the whole day.  These two both weigh over 100 lbs each.  Abby the Lab and Lucas the German Short Haired Pointer/Great Dane mix.  Both of these babies came from a local shelter after our beloved German Shepherd passed about 5 years ago.   I encourage everyone to adopt their pets and spay and neuter them.  🙂  Sorry, had to throw that in there, it’s too important.

    dsc06914.JPG  dsc06916.JPG

Yesterday was spent, CHRISTMAS SHOPPING!!!!!  After Shopping we started putting up the Christmas lights on the outside of the house.  This is the progress we made before dark.  I then completely passed out on the couch, lol.  I hope those who celebrate Thanksgiving had one filled with the love and Joy of Family and Friends.

Such a hectic time of year and so little time to sit down and just stamp. Love this card and actually all of your work. I have been experimenting with your techniques and am pleased with some of the results but haven’t quite reached your level.
Now about the canines….my daughter has three hounds and they are her ‘children’ or rather my ‘grandchildren’. One came from a shelter, one wandered in off of an Indian reservation in New Mexico and the other was a little fur ball for Christmas 16 years ago. They are quite the trio with the most distinct and sometimes hilarious personalities. Anyway, thank you for the opportunity to win some blog candy!!

    Hi Michelle,
Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We had ours back in October up in Canada. I received your two cards when I came back from vacation on Monday. The colors on your cards are always so vivid and I thought it was because of the camera settings, but in real life they are amazingly rich in color! The card you have today is very beautiful! I will have to try the brayer technique once I finish writing my exam on Tuesday. =] Cheers!

Thanks for sharing your Thanksgiving with us. These are memories that’ll last a lifetime, even the nap (which I also did). Your card is wonderful, as usual. Your dogs are beautiful (we have 2 cats, 1 from the pound and both spayed). I’m excited to see what new cards you come up with but I hope you take time to have fun with family and friends at Christmas.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the card and the pups! I have been in companion animal rescue for over 15 years and often foster these wonderful animals (we focus on adoptable animals that get put on the euthanasia list due to lack of shelter space). We have several furry children of our own and they are all shelter dogs (www.petfinder.com) . The spay/neuter mention makes me love this website even more. I like birds about as much as dogs so I hope I have a decent chance at winning those stamps!

OMG, where to start! Well, I guess with the most important, lol…I got such a start looking at your german short hair! It’s like looking at a picture of my childhood dog Auggie! Yours may be a wee bit beefier, but otherwise they’re identical! He was the equivalent of a pound puppy, too…somebody boarded him at the vet where my bro worked and then never came back.

The bird sheet is awesome! I am a bird addict, I think…my eye is always drawn to them…your card certainly shows them off well! I love the way you capture light with your brayers…almost spooky, lol!

Looks like you had a wonderful holiday, Michelle…I was hoping you would!

Yes, please enter me in the blog candy contest. What a terrific prize! You are too generous. I’m a bit later than usual sending you a comment as I’ve been outside putting up the lights and dragging stuff down from the attic and into the house. You should see my living room! Well, maybe not, you’d never come back. This year I made myself a promise to go through all the Christmas stuff and sort out what I don’t want, what is broken, and what I want to keep. I’ve got such a variety of stuff and few things match but that’s the way I like it. There were only 4 of us this year at Mom’s for Thanksgiving but at least we were together and had a roof and plenty to eat. Michelle, your two 100 lb babies are adorable. I am a critter lover and these two are precious. Right now we have two indoor kitties, 3 outdoor kitties, two fox that come visiting every night, a herd of deer that range from 8 to 23, racoons that really are not welcome but they keep coming and a flock of 8 tom turkeys and 25 hens. Yes, we feed them all! When I get my digital back from being repaired, I’ll share some if you’d like. I’m sorry, I haven’t mentioned how much I love your card and to thank you for doing the tutorial. Some folks express their holiday feeling with the word “stressful”; the word that best describes how I feel during the holidays is energized. I don’t shop for Christmas, we make almost everything we give. This year the only thing I did purchase was a Kourik (might have the spelling wrong) one cup coffee maker for Mom. I broke her other one at Thanksgiving. DRATTTTT! I know this comment is turning into a book but I want to tell you that I so admire the prize I won a few months back and have it mounted on my studio wall. It inspired me to grab up some dollar frames at a yard sale and I made two of the most beautiful scenes for the holidays. I gave one to my Mom and one to my Sister so they could display them during the holidays. They just think I’m soooo talented! I learned it all from you! Well, I’ll close for now before this turns into an edition.
